I will give it a try. please send it,email is in the profile thanks -
Hi Major,or any other specialist I have troubles with loading the new map types in the game. All I get is a big grey square instead of a map. Does someone else have this,or do you know what causes the problem, please let me know. Henk

the major is completely right. I too have a Compaq, from work. Which run all this crapp too,I deleted most of it but I am never going to buy me a compaq myself. Its more expensive than other brands and gives you problems with upgrading, because you need to buy Compaq products Soon I will have a new one, cant wait till its here, and it sure is no Compaq again

Not sure,I had the pleasure of firing the C7 (5.56mm) last week on a training with a dutch army unit(I was invited) I used to shoot with the FAL rifle when I was in active service (which is 7.62mm) Indeed the C7 weighs less than the FAL so does its ammo. But usual practice is when its not to heavy you can take more,so the weight problem will be the same on a long walk. But I noticed one thing on the C7 it has less power compared to the FAL. Whit that I mean you hardly feel a shot go off (pressure on the shoulder)compared to the FAL After firing that rifle I usually had a blue and painfull shoulder the next day,not the case with the C7 though. Maybe its the same for stopping power,I dont know. the stories told in Blackhawk down (if they are true)show a bad result regarding stopping power

just download the demo. Play the game(there is no eyecandy movie stuff) If you have serious questions after studying the menu and the manual, everybody here is kind enough to answer them.

actually the 10 most active PBEM players are currently involved in a tourney. But if you ask here you probably will find an opponent willing to learn you the basic skills and dont be afraid for loosing a game,it will happen

Theory and practice in the use of MMG
Stoffel replied to Hon John Howard MP LLB's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Hey! Another mag gunner Still in the army? Anyway its not a smart idea to sustain such fire over longer periods, since it is the squads most precious weapon. Doing so will only attract enemyfire like mortars or artillery to take it out -
I'm fed up that the AI can't…
Stoffel replied to mensch's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
yes he is right in the opinion about FO's I played a battle made by Jensrat where I had to attack across a bridge. And guess who were defending the bridge? Right, 3 FO's ,in a foxhole in front of the bridge. They were dead meat in 1 turn and had no chance to fire even 1 round -

Stoffel replied to Silvio Manuel's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
yes the gun keeps pointed in the original direction, but you have to give it a new targetorder to fire on a vehicle. -
Need help with AT gun ambush
Stoffel replied to Silvio Manuel's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
another thing to avoid firing on the stuarts is hiding and an ambush marker to the rear of the gun. It will not fire at the stuarts, however you have to wait for the next turn to give a fire order,if the jumbo still is in LOS than a bit risky but it works -
check the parameters of a map given by the computer. They are always standard west side map for allies east side of the map for the germans before you start editing a map always look for where the zone modes are located and start fronm there if you make it North - south change the zone modes on the map This way it must work.
-
if you look at it you can see the barrel is high placed on the structure. So if you dig a deep hole only the gunbarrel and a little part of the structure would be exposed

Hi Guys thanks for the replies I have cjanged the german oob a bit since they had no armor. What the germans do had were lots of 88 and 75 mm guns. So I changed armor for guns and added some extra artilleryspotters. The scenariobriefings are added too,so if there is anyone want to test it before I post it ? I also want to thank mc Auliffe from Belgium for his help. He created a huge operation about the same battle.
-
I made a scenario based on the Canadian 7th infantrybrigades attqck on Eede near the Leopoldschannel in Belgium It contains 3 infantry battallions with mg and antitanksupport and the support of 27(!) wasps The batalions come in the battle in 3 groups and at the end stage armor comes in too. The initial attack was a failure because the germans recovered quick abnd counterattacked succesfully undder cover of heavy mg and mortar fire. It took the brigade 3 more days to secure a bridgehead at the other side of the channel. The canadin oob is accurate but I had to make up something for the germans(I am waiting for info by the German ministry of defense)the map itself is from the area though I created some extra bridges. The area was very flat so dont expect hills it is at night however so enough cover. If anyone wants it just send a message. It is at 8200 (allies)to 5200(german) points After action report would be appreciated

Introductory / training scenario
Stoffel replied to BloodyBucket's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
there is a training scenario on the cd for training company sized combined arms it is named Grafenwohr It has tanks, armoured infantry carriers, infantry and anti tank guns -
Played your first scenario,Melville as Brits. I had to surender after 20 turns because by than most of my man were dead. All went well untill I reached the first barbed wire fence. It took me a complete platoon to kill the 20mm gun. Most of my man were slaughtered trying to penetrate or bypass the barbed wire The mines also took their toll. Would have been a great help if the paras had their mortars, smoke could have been very usefull Henk
