  1. Hey Dubya-Dubya-Bee, About when will the next part of the CMAK TCP Pack be coming out?
  2. Oh, now I remember why I don’t have RoW I on my sig line. That dang blasted quiz and thesis you had to write to get in to it. Why should I write a thesis to get in into the RoW when we have other cool tournaments like Nordic and Not-so-Superbowl. OK, ok, so I should’ve written the dissertation. But who knew that the RoW would put out some of the most interesting scenarios devised. And who knew who or what a Nabla was. Nabla should be in a CM Hall of Fame or something. His scoring system permitted the RoW to become reality and will go down in CM history. I’m sure it will be used for many tournaments to come.
  3. To hinder players from disappering you could take credit card numbers up front and if someone drops out buy a bottle of South African wine for everyone in their group and charge it to their card. It may not exactly prevent players from dropping out but the rest of the group wouldn't mind so much Or in THumpres case it would be a bottle of Irish Whiskey (which explains his tournament play )
  4. I better start honing my dessert combat skills because I'm getting real thirsty for some fine wine.
  5. I ran the spybot and deleted everything they suggested. I checked out the pestpatrol website and it doesn't seem to be the the casinoxo trojan. But, the bloody casino hasn't started on my machine since running the spybot so, fingers crossed, maybe it's gone. Thanks for your help in this. Ted
  6. OK I'll give it a try. I've been using ad-ware and running that. I'm not sure if it's the same thing or not.
  7. I have a new Dell. I went to a Battlefront Mirror site to download the patches for CMBB. I must've clicked on a pop-up window and now I get this blasted web-based golden casino program open and running whenever I start my computer. I've deleted the casino foler. Searched and deleted anyhting with the word casino or golden in it. I've ran regedit and deleted the H_Key and deleted anything with casino in it. BUT IT KEEPS COMING BACK! I was so desperate I've emailed this Golden Casino place and asked how to remove this program but I figure all I'll get is an increase in spam now that they have my email address. I can't find anything "casino" in any of my start folders but I look at a setuplog and I have this: *** Installation Started 01/10/04 08:43:36 *** Product Name: Golden Palace Casino NEW Added Registry Entry Root Key = HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Key = Software\Golden Palace Casino PT Added Registry Entry Root Key = HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Key = Software\Golden Palace Casino PT Name = mdart Value = advertisercode Added Registry Entry Root Key = HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Key = Software\Golden Palace Casino PT Name = sinstaller Value = profile Created Directory: c:\casino Created Directory: c:\casino\Golden Palace Casino Copied File: c:\casino\Golden Palace Casino\blocker.exe Copied File: c:\casino\Golden Palace Casino\casino.exe Copied File: c:\casino\Golden Palace Casino\casino.hlp Copied File: c:\casino\Golden Palace Casino\directsounddriver.dll Copied File: c:\casino\Golden Palace Casino\fileinfo.dat Copied File: c:\casino\Golden Palace Casino\gdigraphdriver.dll Copied File: c:\casino\Golden Palace Casino\replacer.exe Copied File: c:\casino\Golden Palace Casino\wavesounddriver.dll Is there anything I can do short of reformatting my hard drive? Thanks for your help in this off topic situation.
  8. The suspense is killing me. Will I be doing massive TCP setups tonight?

  11. Yes RoWIV may have something better than cash prizes. It may have South African prized wine!! (Maybe someday when I grow up I’ll be good enough to get a taste of them)
  12. Thanks for the quick explanation and great link. I see I'll be spending quite a few minutes there. I know about the mouse click or any key for that matter but I thought there was a few keys you press at the same time (shft-alt-enter kind of thing) and the next time you start CM it goes to directly to the start screen.
  13. I hate to sound so non-grogish but on the PzIII’s what does a front armor rating of 50+20 mean? (And does anybody know how to bypass the music in the beginning and go straight to the start screen?)
  14. LoL, Hmmm I say, “CM Vietnam”, looks like a discussion on what the next CM will be. I’ll start at the end and see what the hot topic being discussed is. I didn’t figure it would be the best way to kick a cripple. You can always learn somethin’ new on this board.
  15. Schrullenhaft, Not having downloaded Zonealarm yet can you give a brief description on how to permit just CM to access to the internet? (Or another CM game to have access to my IP address) (And happy new year by the way)
  16. Great news! I’ve played a few of the TCP battles from Boots and Tracks, just recently High Noon and King of the Hill. They were scenarios that you would never get just playing quick battles. There was a well balanced and interesting mix of troops on unique maps. Highly recommended!

  19. I like the “Battlefront” snow mod at the top of the page. Which .bmp is that? Can you find it at CMMODS? Happy Holidays to all and to all...good hunting!!
  20. I tried loading in the Safe Mode and I get the same error in the same spot: Error: C:\Program files\Battlefront\Combat Mission Africa Korps\common.exe An error occured while trying to copy a file: The source file is corrupted. Click retry abort…..etc” Today I try the new Dell.
  21. Kurt, I did nothing special but tried multiple times in multiple drives. Hopefully Yankee is on to something. Matt, I will give the safe mode a try tonight or possibly tomorrow. ( ‘Tis the season to be busy)
  22. Matt, I received the disk and well, yes and no. It looked to be the same problem. First I moved all the files to the hard drive and tried to run the setup from there. I got the exact same error as the 1st cd and the same as kstevens: “I can start the install and it progresses to probably 90% of the common.exe unpacking then I get an I/O error and I get the option to ingore, cancel or try again.” I then tried loading from the DVD drive a couple/few times and finally progressed a little further to the point where I started to see unpacking BMP files. (Halleluiah) That went on for a few seconds until I got a load of CRC errors and then stopped and gave me an error asking I wanted to send an error report. After saying No it went on and finished installing the game. It looked like all the files were there but on trying to open or run the game all I got was an hourglass next to the mouse pointer for a second and then nothing happened. I clicked the icon on the desktop with the same results. I then loaded it from my CD/RW drive and seemed to get less CRC errors but the same results of hourglass then nothing. I tried to install the game a few more times and finally it to worked. It seems to work fine but I did notice several CRC errors when unloading bmp’s and wav’s. So although it’s working I’m waiting for the time of getting black spots on the map and who knows what sounds I’ll be missing. In any case, I’ve seen some CRC errors before. When installing the demo I had a few and the sides of the Mosque building were black. I reinstalled the game and it was fine. I attributed this to the motherboard I bought. I have an Asus A7V333 motherboard w/533MHz front side bus and 512Meg of 333MHz RAM. I fear that the communication between the CD/DVD drives is not quite right. Or something is funky in the BIOS. I wondered if Asus released this motherboard before all the bugs were ironed out. (shocking wouldn’t it). I just purchased a new Dell P4 2.66GHz that arrived yesterday (my wife took pity on me when she saw my head on my desk moaning that CMAK wouldn’t load) and will try and install CMAK on that machine tonight. (If it doesn’t I’ll go back to my CRC error filled machine and sell the Dell on this board.) Wish me luck! Ted
  23. I’m running Windows XP and I have to go to my control panel-network connections and disable my firewall there.
  24. The AVRE is back in eh? (I’m waiting for CMAK to arrive) The AVRE was discussed in length back in the CMBO days. Do a search for it and you’ll find threads discussing, tactics, history, the armor and armament and some very good pictures. One interesting note was a crew member had to pop up and reload the Petard Mortar externally. Hazardous duty that.
  25. Could it be a container of Luceners Castor Oil Flakes with Vibrafoam?
