  1. We know the Allies called it a "Tank", named after war heroes, Grant, Sherman, Stuart, Pershing etc And the Germans a "Panzer", most named after animals, Tiger, Panther, Lynx, etc. But what was the Russian word for “tank” and other than their model number did they have names for them? Wasn’t the KV2 called the Stalin? How about other nationalities?
  2. Kingfish, You don't have my finished game under "The Beast". You should have the results. If not let me know and I'll send them off again. It was with a replacement Chris Martino.
  3. OK Holien I’m working up a thirst now. Kingfish, of course RoW IV, it’d be to soon for RoW V I’m sorry to hear about JK. He was always a major poster keeping this thread at the top. Good luck John, maybe we’ll see you by RoW XXII
  4. Hey I'm free on July 12th. Should I bring the beer? How about a 5-liter keg of Dinkel Acker beer  Wait, I maybe TCP'ing a RoW IV scenario that day but otherwise count me in. [ March 22, 2003, 03:29 PM: Message edited by: Ted ]
  5. LoL, I’ve found directly the opposite. For me it takes a fistful of Russian armor to hit a Panther or a MkIV before all being knocked out themselves. Keep playing Synchro, I’m sure the law of averages will catch up with your Russian tanks.
  6. Hey Kingfish, Kevin “Zealotburner” Hicks is officially out. He’s upped and joined the Army. (I hope that’s the last time he volunteers for anything. ) Anyway, what do I do about finishing our scenario? Are there replacements or should I just accept an average score?
  7. What do we do about finding a replacement? Kevin "Zealotburner" Hicks seems to have fallen through the cracks.
  8. There is something called the “Paredo Principle” or the twenty - eighty principle. This holds that 20% of your men should cause 80% of the casualties. It can be used in all sorts of ways. In 20% of your time you will get 80% of your work done. 20% of your salesman will sell 80% of your product. 20% of your employees will give you 80% of your headaches. 20% of the people will get 80% of the tax breaks. It has something to do with an Italian guy, Paredo, from like the 18th century who did a study and found out that 20% of the people owned 80% of the property. Sometimes it’s surprising just how well it works.
  9. I think we've lost Kevin Zealotburner Hicks. I think he was overwhelmed by the Beast. Just finished KoD. Almost finished Hoss I have the Rearguard in retreat. And the Christmas battle is still anybodies game.
  10. I think Zealotburner is MIA. No word for a couple of weeks. Kevin are you out there?
  11. I had to move my machine for awhile. Where I moved I don’t have room to use the speakers for my computer. So I use headphones. While using the headphones if I view the movie from behind a tank I can’t hear the gun go off. I just see a big puff of smoke. If I move the view off to either side I can hear the gun go off fine. Does anybody else have this problem? I’m using the onboard sound of the Asus A7V333 motherboard.
  12. Redwolf I’m playing several opponents who have yahoo email. I have to zip the files I send them or they can’t load it or somefink. Is this a settings problem I can change or an IP problem?
  13. Once upon a time the third module of CM was supposed to be the Mediterranean campaign, Africa, Italy etc. I’m hoping this is where they’ll go next.
  14. I'd like to spot "Rough" terrain easier. I have to zoom down all the way to level1 and crawl along to see the stuff.
  15. I'd like to spot "Rough" terrain easier. I have to zoom down all the way to level1 to see the stuff.
  16. I did a search and I found links for bmp lists of Vehicles, Buildings and Uniforms but really nothing for terrain. Does anyone know which bmp’s are for rocky/rough terrain?
  17. TB, you might want to drop a line to Zealotburner. No one has heard from him since before the tourney started.
  18. Still have never received the setup from Zealotburner or jjelinek. I did get a confirmation email from them before the tourney started but since then all is quiet. I hope there not lost wandering the Steppes somewhere. Edit: Just heard from jj, he's sending a turn today. [ January 12, 2003, 10:44 AM: Message edited by: Ted ]
  19. I haven’t recieved a setup from Zealotburner or jjelinek. I’ve sent the setup file to Kunstler a few days ago but haven’t heard back. I hate to waist this great day of football with no CM during the commercials and halftime.
  20. Rear Guard Action Received Briefing waiting for setup from THumpre Hosszupalyi Sent the setup and 1st move to Gunnersman The Beast Received Briefing waiting for setup from Zealotburner The Christmas Battle Sent the first file to Kunstler but have to resend zipped (he has a Mac) King Of Debrecen Received Briefing waiting for setup from jjeliinek
  21. Not having the game in front me, in CMBB did a motorized squad carry different weapons into combat? Maybe more support weapons per platoon/company?
  22. Well I KNOW I haven’t played enough in the snow and CMBB has more types of snow than an Eskimo has names for.
  23. Well I’m pumped. TB, any chance of starting a small one early? Kinda get a jump on things. (Edit: just had to ask) [ January 02, 2003, 06:27 PM: Message edited by: Ted ]
