Rather than muck with suicides just give the kill to whoever scored the most damage on the vehicle ala air warrior or warbirds.. Los

"I admit that I didn't read any manual (can't find one in my folder and a little too lazy to look for one)" Start-Program-Battlefront-Dropteam even lazy can accomplish that without any thought. So you'd rather stumble around for six hours online rather than take five minutes and glance at the relevant section of the manual? Sorry couldn't help it. Re: The falling thing, on a related note when a drop ship is shot down during extraction and flass on your head other than pinning you you don't get much in the way of real damage either. I also agree re: the exit command. Los

There is a way to get out of that situation CTL-K. (suicide) If a flaming 200-ton drop ship lands on your vehicle that's what would happen anyways... Los

Really? How many brigade level air assaults did you participate in while you were in NI? While I agree with you that much of the traffic here becomes current affairs at time, occasional current hi-tempo combat operations (i.e. fallujah, and some other actions), not to mention the whole invasion portion of the war PLUS the the Stryker Brigades performance and various tactical operations strike me as having relevance for discussion purposes. I have a question regarding defense towers (I've read the manual). Can they be captured by engineer vehicles? Also it seems that the 10mm ion cannons have no or little effect on them. Can they only be destroyed with heavy caliber weapons? Thanks. Los

Other options could be whoever got the last ding on the guy before suicide gets the kill or whoever's closest etc. Los

Does this mean LAN games are disabled too Matt? -
My son and I have been playing this for hours. Great game. Couldn't figure out how to get a LAN game going with a quick glance at the manual so we shrugged and joined an online game. Was a great experience. Los

What the engineers thought of something before forum members here did? I don't believe it... Los

Keep in mind that Tall Afar has fully trained and operational Iraqi army units there that are doing the down and dirty intel gathering/rooting out bad guy/ making the IP and Peshmerga play nice together stuff. That makes a major diffence also in that area. Los

BTW there were some other good videos on that siyte. I liked the one about Missile and defense in 2017, the music was cool. Los

Given the thousands of sorties I think it would be a lot lower. Los

They fire them on enemy troops or annoying enemy MG nest like shown in Band of Brothers. Los

Best divisional action: My vote goes to 1st Para (GER) at Cassino. Best unsung commander (DiV or under): Hermann Balck Los -
Clue: One's a flight sim, one's a wargame, move along now. Los

Rate of ammo expenditure in close combat
Los replied to Blah Blah Blah's topic in Combat Mission: Afrika Korps
I once went through, (in RL not CM), during one twenty minute firefight, (in a built up area) over 15x30 round magazines plus a few frags. Everyone else on my team had similar ammo depletions. This was during a delaying action. Los -
Well don't forget Lemay. If Harris is up there Lemay was on the same sheet of music as he and ran the Pcific Bombing campaign with similar intentions. Los

"Some of us are too busy loosing real game to try out fake situations :)" You fight as you train, if you aren't training maybe that's the porblem. Los -
I have another recommendation that really helped in getting quality films in il2. You should set your in game resolution to 640x480. Then when you record in Fraps you should get a smoother film. Don't worry about how it looks because hwen you play it back it'll look very crisp. Also grab a program like VirtualDub and do some preproduction work on your raw footage to sharpen it up, adjust color and other plug ins mods before your begin combining the footage intoa film. Los

My recommendaton if facing open terrain against a well defended enemy line (w/ interlocking fields of fire) is to try and isolate one small section of the line w/ smoke if possible, to get in amongst them and then start taking the line by the flank. You can sort of see an example of this in action here: http://www.combatmission.com/articles/grafenwohr/grafenwohr.asp Los
