  1. Artkin is correct. You are charged when the pre-order is placed.
  2. This is correct. I am trying to remember the release....it was a while ago....maybe the initial release of CMFB or CMRT or somefink....The servers got overloaded and download speeds were criminally slow. At the risk of being boring, the way it works is that when the title is uploaded it propagates into multiple servers (we use the same ones Amazon uses). This can take sometime. Once it's spread out enough slow download speeds aren't a problem. So, the process that we've developed since then is that I wait hours before sending notifications to pre-orders after making the title "live". In that notification we ask folks to please keep it on the downlow for a while so it can continue to propagate the servers. It also gives us a some time in case there is something critically wrong with the uploaded files. Like if they had become corrupted during the upload. This usually results in a 12-24 hour gap between when pre-order notifications go out and a public announcement of the release is made. From the time the notifications go out the title is available for non-pre-order purchases in the online store. The number of people that check the store hourly is small (my guess) and isn't enough to alter what the "soft" release is accomplishing. But, as you mentioned, the call to keep it on the downlow for a bit is usually broken by a coupla/few people. That is where uploading hours before sending out the notifications helps. That is the mechanics of how it works. There is no financial benefit. I'm not even sure what that means. The pricing is identical for pre-orders and release.
  3. It's working for me too. Try this link: https://battlefront.sharefile.com/d-s98ef530950a1403c9422ee79e1c80b40 Also, try using a different browser.
  4. Since NCC1701 and NC1701D are long gone I am considering things like NCC I7OI or some kind of variation of that. Or NCC 1031
  5. That is an excellent question. I see the web pages are not as comprehensive as they once were. I'll see if I can dig something up for them. The 4.0 Upgrade has a Cliff Noted version: https://www.battlefront.com/cmfi-upgrades/cmfi-upgrade-4/
  6. I don't think it's a matter of how much would be needed to do it. It's about who owns rights to the Afghan game (or parts of the game). I really liked the Afghan game. At the time I liked it more than CMSF1. It is a steal for the $25 that it is being sold for.
  7. When the original CMBN came out it, along with CMSF1, were built using Game Engine 1. When Fortress Italy was made more features were added to the game engine that CMBN did not have. That is when the 2.0 Upgrade was first created for CMBN. It Upgraded the game engine from Game Engine 1 to Game Engine 2. Making it so that CMBN's game engine did not become obsolete. Red Thunder added more features and that was created using Game Engine 3. 3.0 Upgrade's were created for CMBN and CMFI so they they use Game Engine 3. The current game engine is Game Engine 4. All new purchases use Game Engine 4. I see that you joined the forum in 2018. If that is when you purchased your first game then it was already using Game Engine 4. A 5.0 Upgrade would mean more features being added and available for all titles.
  8. The Soviet campaign is a march to a last stand in Berlin. I can't say for sure if it's based, in part or in full, on „Pocket of Halbe“. Maybe @benpark can pop in and answer for you.
  9. I appreciate what you're saying. I see that you're relatively new to the game (I know...weird that 4 years is considered new) and may not realize that the games have 1 programmer and 1 game designer. Except for a few years that Phil was here was doing some programming, that has always been the case. And we've thrived and survived while almost everyone else in this gaming niche have not. That isn't meant to imply that all moves have been spot on or perfect but it is meant to imply that we have been right far more have we been wrong. Increasing personnel in this model does not equal shorter release times. If ya dig what I'm saying. Yes, the Steam reviews are fantastic for a game like this. This is not the kind of game that I'd expect 90% (recent reviews) and 85% for all reviews. It has given me more respect for Steam gamers. Thanks! I think that it will be.
  10. He'll be posting one. There have been "complications" in his part of the real world. I heard from him earlier today and even sent him some screenshots to choose from.
  11. That is Steve's thing. I'd be surprised if he didn't post something.......even if it isn't tonight. But he hasn't said anything to me one way or the other. I'm only speculating.
  12. Hi Mark. In the dark blue bar at the top of this forum you'll see a link titles Special Upgrade 4 Tech Tips. Look in there and you'll see the instructions for creating the utility if the installer didn't create it for you. Right now, only Fortress Italy and Shock Force 2 create the utility as a desktop shortcut. I have been campaigning for each new release to include it. Also, if you ever need help, open a Help Desk ticket. Forum posts can get lost but those send up red flags.
  13. I suppose it depends on how you're defining "bones" Just a couple of days ago I posted a picture of the Panzer III Flame, which hadn't been shown before. A week before that I posted pictures of the newly added BS-3. A couple of days before that the newly added Volksstrum uniforms. The week before that I gave a semi-detailed breakdown of the campaigns. I hope that this thread is both interesting and informative, plus it is giving insight into a campaign that should be in the module: https://community.battlefront.com/topic/137921-fire-and-rubble-preview-the-anatomy-of-what-goes-into-a-stock-campaign-release/ We do what we can when there's something available to share.
  14. Correct. That is actually what I meant to say in my reply. It is not new to Fire and Rubble. It is in the base game already. My bad.
  15. You are correct. Sorry I was mistaken that it was new to Fire and Rubble.
  16. I don't think I've posted this guy before, have I?
  17. I'd mentioned that when I see this it is usally either a laptop running the game on an Intel integrated video card or missing brz files. In this case it was the missing brzs. Here is what was in his Data folder. Pretty much the whole game was missing. The fix is to re-download and install with the firewall and anti-virus software disabled. They are the primary culprits of missing installation pieces.
  18. Check your spam folder. I replied at 2:49pm EDT on Christmas. Or you can log into your Help Desk account and read my questions there. The login information for the Help Desk is in the auto response that was sent when you opened your ticket.
  19. It is unlikely that it has anything to do with anti-virus software. The most common causes are an installation that is missing brz files. Or it's a laptop that is trying to run on an Intel integrated card, rather than the Geforce GTX 1060 Those are the most common (exclusive) causes for what he's seeing. Almost, the original CMBN Game Engine 1 will not run on Windows 10. You need at least one of the Upgrades.
  20. He submitted a ticket yesterday that I replied to by asking a couple of questions. I'm waiting for a reply.
