  1. D espite being set in summer 1944, every German formation you’ll command except one is newly introduced with the module including: - Panzer Brigade Panzer Battalion - Panzer Brigade Panzergrenadier Battalion [early] (different from the what you’ve seen on the western front) - Waffen SS Ad-hoc Panzer Battalion - Waffen SS Infantrie Battalion - Kriegsmarine Naval Gun Support (yes you read that last one right) The historical engagements will also provide some unique tactical problems for a player to tackle that they haven’t had to yet in the CM2 era. How does a Panzer III with a 50mm gun take on a T-34? It’s also a chance to experience what a very hastily put together German force based on anything with tracks and a gun feels like to command. Expect quite a mixed bag in terms of equipment and quality of forces. Oh, and in a nice bit of rarity but historically appropriate, the Germans will actually have some air support! (But that’s from the base game).
  2. @Ithikial_AU suggested that it might be interesting to players to see what some of the decision making and thought process goes into a campaign for release with a title. For the next preview of the Fire and Rubble module rather than just more screenshots we decided to provide some details about some of the playable content coming your way upon release followed by an explanation over the coming weeks about how this comes about. As has been previously stated, the purpose of the module is to really flesh out the forces on the Eastern Front from June 1944 and to extend the time frame to the end of the war in May 1945. This does include expanded German branches and formations into the summer months of 1944 already covered by the base game and as suitable for the eastern front setting. Essentially the module is a lot more than just snow and Berlin! There’s going to be ‘out of the box’ engagements to fight with these new forces in the summer of 1944 and the tools for the community to design battles set in the Baltics through to the Courland Pocket. One of the ways this content will be brought together is in one of the four campaigns shipping with the module. (Before anyone asks - two Soviet and two German focused). The designer of the one in this little project is calling it the “largest shortest campaign for Combat Mission”. In The Battle of Tukums players will take command of Panzerverbände Strachwitz in full on the 18th of August 1944 across three large scale battles. Army Group Centre has launched Operation Doppelkoph to try and rescue the trapped Army Group North cut off in eastern Latvia and Estonia. It’s effectively one giant armour heavy scenario split into three parts to prevent your CPU’s from melting. How much armour? Well let’s just say one of the testers called a company of Panzer IV’s under his command the ‘recon element’.
  3. I didn't mean for it to come off as a big secret. I'll post something now. I didn't want to post any content, that had been started before, before double checking that it was being represented correctly with the author. (what a poorly/awkwardly worded sentence) I hope at some point there will be some video.
  4. It's funny that you should ask. There is something like that in the works. I hope to start it later today. I'm just waiting for confirmation on something from @Ithikial_AU. It may be 1:30pm my time but it's 1:30 am where he is. It is an idea that he had and I think people will find it interesting. I feel bad that I haven't finished my AAR yet. It was done on a version of the game that is now 4 builds old. I have kept it as a separate installation so that I can finish it up.
  5. I wish that there was something new to report. Most scenarios are completed and marked as "Final"(I should have checked my last post to see if this was true then). Most campaigns are likely complete but still being run through the wringer.
  6. Sorry....It is censorship. But it isn't fake news....The Eagles are in 1st place with a 3-5-1 record.
  7. Maybe. And I probably just spoke out of school. Although I seem to remember Steve mentioning it as some point.
  8. The Eagles are in 1st place still! I'm hoping they win the division with a 5-11-1 record. Go Birds! Could there be a 5.0 Upgrade? I don't have an official answer than there is not one currently being developed....but no one has ever told me that there never will be one. Unofficially, if I were a betting man (which I am), I would bet that there won't be one. But that is complete speculation on my part. There are enough balls in the air right now without adding that one.
  9. These are all interesting changes. Some of the scenario makers in the crowd might want to chime in about it. That said, it very unlikely that any kind of changes that you are suggesting will make it into the game anytime soon (even if HQ thinks they are worth adding). They are the kind of thing that would be in an engine Upgrade, not in a patch. A 5.0 Upgrade is not even in the works yet.....For that matter, if there is ever going to be a 5.0 Upgrade has not been decided yet. I know it's not what you want to hear. And it doesn't mean that these ideas don't make it into the next incarnation of Combat Mission. (P.S. Did I ever tell you that I love your user name? I've been thinking about getting a vanity license plate for my car with some variation of it)
  10. I'm very glad to hear you're safe, @agusto. That is scary stuff. I'm going to shut this down before it starts going off the rails.
  11. I apologize that I have not read this whole thread and if someone already mentioned this. Way back when the original Combat Mission Beyond Overlord had a public beta demo released, before the first CM game was released, there were no bodies in the game. Battlefront did not want to put anything that might be considered unnecessarily blood thirty in the game. There were a lot of forum discussions about it and Battlefront ended up including bodies because it was important to gameplay. Knowing where soldiers were engaged and lost had a place in the strategy of playing the game. Having them be bloody doesn't add anything to the strategy. That's why it isn't in the game.
  12. This is @MikeyD's department. "Literally Unplayable" sounds like hyperbole but Mike will be able to explain why it is the way that it is.
  13. An updated version of the campaign has been uploaded. Thank you everyone for your feedback!
  14. I am ashamed of myself that I still haven't wrapped this up.....and that's not what I'm here to do now...... However, as an update, the bug that had my units not go through doors that I expected.......most spectacularly displayed in the Human Wave has been fixed. I ran a bunch of tests on the AAR map this morning ad can confirm that all units entered and exited buildings as expected. I triple checked the buildings in the Human Wave and each time they pathed the way I had intended.
  15. It has been uploaded. https://battlefront.sharefile.com/share/view/s7d76501e23a4e608/fof9f423-8c9f-4494-82e5-704ab8a27de7
  16. Correct. Everything released since CM Final Blitzkrieg comes with multi-platform keys and downloads for both Mac and Windows versions. After you've purchased the game, use the download link and you will see download links for both systems.
  17. I was poking around it today to see if I could figure it out. You are correct though, Ian.
  18. Thanks again, guys. It should be fine now.
  19. Thanks guys. I'll make a point of going through it today. Appreciate it.
  20. This and.... this, gave me hardy laughs. "We can guarantee you that not a single armoured division will get done over for fifteen bob a week."
