The first batch of orders did not include their license keys. Those people had to receive theirs manually......by me......one.......at.......a........time. Those are the emails that went out yesterday. The release is still set for April.....but it won't be April 8th. Bragging rights........If you received an email yesterday you were among the first 41 orders! The Fightin 41!! All pre-orders will receive a download link in an email when the game is finished (that is mostly automated, thank goodness).

I'm WAY more of a Star Trek guy than a Star Wars guy and I agree with other. For me that series is better than any Star Wars except for maybe the first 2 original movies.

It would be very difficult for the game to be more interesting to play. But we'll see what we can do.

Beta build for Fire and Rubble. A 5.0 Upgrade is not part of it. Think of it as patches for the title. When we're testing there are different beta builds that are given to us...Beta 1, Beta 2, Beta 3....you get the idea. We try to break each new build because we'd rather crash it and fix it that release it and have the crashes. The builds don't just include fixing things that we break. They also include additions, particularly to the TO&E and graphics.

Well....I probably won't do that. I did try to give a little insight the other day when I mentioned that a new build had one broken of the campaigns. Fortunately, the most recent build has fixed that. I don't think going through a laundry list like that would be interesting and may be pulling the curtain back more than is necessary (and pushing the limits of my NDA) That said, another one may be deduced by a post that, I think, Steve made around exactly this time last year..........

I would never do something like that. I'm very aware of how sensitive of an issue this is for some people. If I were to do something on that day it would be announce something unexpected and have it be real. The memory is a little cloudy but I think that's when the Combat Mission Touch app was announced and no one thought it was real.

Gotcha. No worries. The Readme file may mention what you're talking about in the changes for each patch. They're certainly more reliable than my memory. Enjoy the game. I think you're gonna really dig it.

I have no idea. Nothing new is being worked on for CMFB at this moment (we've got enough balls in the air right now). The only 2 PBEM games that I have going are with CMFB and I haven't seen anything funky. If there is something more specific than "missing FO and so so" I will definitely look into it. (I have FOs in one of the battles that I'm playing........)

What are you missing? I quick scroll only showed a bad patch link. Are you patched up?

We use the same servers as Amazon. What happened with a release a few years ago (I can't recall for certain which release...it may have been Black Sea) was we announced it was up as soon as the upload was complete. This caused very slow download speeds for some people. We found that if a little bit of time is given for the upload to propagate the servers it avoided that. So, after uploading it I wait an hour or so before sending out the download links. A side affect of doing that is if there was some kind of critical failure with the uploaded file we'd have time to catch it before it got into too many hands. We'd be able to either shut down downloads and/or upload a repaired file. Fortunately that has never happened. None of this is anything anyone but us would know if we didn't talk about it...like I am now. No one would know when they get the download email that it had been uploaded an hour or 2 earlier.

When it comes out you won't hear a peep from me. Maybe for as long as 24 hours after the release. I'll want to give it a chance to propagate the servers before mentioning it on the forum or the website. The email notifying people who pre-ordered advises them to do the same. They never do. Someone always posts that they got it......but that someone won't be me.

I'm in the process of giving it a second try. A buddy tells me that it's fantastic starting season 2. Season 1 has been OK. He knows about my experience with Stephen King's Dark Tower season and he said to think it like that. The first book in the Dark Tower series, Gunslinger, is almost unreadable to me. The rest of the series is some of the best stuff that he ever wrote. It took 3 tries before I liked Game of Thrones too....

2 of the campaigns are "normal" sized campaigns. 1 is a small campaign (Ithikial_AU has a thread devoted to creating it) and 2 are "mini" campaigns. The mini campaigns sprung out of a massive battle that Ben made. It was one of those monster epic battles that you had that "just one more turn before I step away" kinda feel. Ben had the idea to break it into a 2 battle campaign and have it playable from both sides. I forget if Ben or I mentioned the setting for them.......

Sure. All standalone battles and all 5 campaigns are complete. Briefing graphics, final tweaks, etc...Done. In the bag. Ready to be shipped. One of the things that I do with each new build is open each battle from both sides and make sure something hasn't changed that causes a crash now, where it didn't crash before. Ben was doing the same for the campaigns and 1 of them crashed. It is not uncommon when testing for one thing to get fixed only to have it break somefink else.

It is the game engine manual.

Make sure that you used the all-in-one full game installer in your 4.0 Upgrade purchase (your order number 310988). Then use the keys that Schrullenhaft listed. If that doesn't work open a Help Desk ticket and send a screenshot of the contents of the game's Data folder and screenshot of any error message that you're seeing. Do not start installing the individual modules or anything else (assuming that is what you meant by "do this product by product now"

No Last Stand. When I played "Now or Never" I chose the wrong "Now". I still pulled off a minor victory. In hindsight, I don't even know if there is a proper "Now".
