  1. Yo Crow, I was recntly in DC (bordered by Va.) and on the way home stopped at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Aberdeen, Maryland. Are you sure that isn't what you're thinking of? They have a field that is open 24/7 that has most of your major WW2 tanks. They also have a museum that was closed when I got there.
  2. Welcome back Lorak...Did you get my draw with DavidohmyAikinhead and my victory over chrisl?
  3. Good one Berli....I that post I just said I had to include Phan in there somewhere and almost continued by saying "because you were there at conception" but didn't pull the trigger on it.
  4. Thanks folks..eating and purging well thanks for asking. I love the Elvis has left the room one. Phan..I had to include you somehow.
  5. June 9, 2001 5:09pm EDT (or 1709hrs to us geeks). 6lbs 8ozs 19 1/2 inches long John Michael "lil Elvis" Costello was welcomed into this world by his lovely mother Bridget and his idiot father John. (Yo, Steve, Charles, Matt and Dan I know this is way off topic and maybe more fit for the general forum...but this is my home. At least I didn't post a picture with like I wanted to {just too tire to try to figure how to post a picture}.)
  6. Wow....Thanks Steve...Holy cow. My only comment for now is....You can charge my card today if you want and send me the game whenever it is done. That preorder problem is not an issue...whack my card man and send the game later.
  7. Let the record show that after of beer orgy Hiram and I played a hotseat game to a draw.
  8. Me and phhhhhhhhhaggan juusssttss gotttter baaacckk ffffffrfrrooommm thhhhhhhhhe e bar .eeeeeeeeeeeemmmmmmmmmmmmmmaaaafddfaa bopuightt uusssus dsosssomm e beerrss........ssoooooooooo dddiiiiiiioj apaawwbeeeaarer and leeeeeeeeeeeeoonn thhhhhhhhhhaankknss guuuuuyss frrrrrrrrrommmmm tyhhhhhhhhhhe ebeereres. The preceding was intended to express my thanks and PhillyPhans thanks for the beers that Y2K, PawBroon and Leeon purchased for us the afternoon. A good time was had by all and no one got hurt. Also, it should be mentioned that Phans girlfriend ponyed up a couple of beers for us herself and should be thanked as well.
  9. I will be heading over soon as well (although it is only a block from where I live). Just wanted to mention other cities that have bars that anyone can meet up with us on line at: Chicago, Edinburgh, Atlanta, San Francisco, Vancouver, Toronto, Brussels and Budapest. It would be cool if there were a lot of us at any of these places....If not you can get Hiram/Phillyboy and I loaded for 7 bucks pop..Which puts a thought in my little head...Steve, Matt, Charles, Dan..This wouldbe a great way to say "Thank you"...OK you already did that by making the game...you can't blame a guy for trying.
  10. PS...anyone in the Philly area or near any of the other bars around the world at the site link let us know if you're going so we can look for you.
  11. The Philly bar is O'Neals on 3rd street (about the same spot on 3rd street that Players' is on 2nd street). Peter has requested a 4pm GMT meeting time (12:00 noon Philly time). I will be there as close to that as I can but I suspect it will be closer to 12:30 for me. I am dropping my wife off at a party at between noon and 12:15 and it is only a few blocks from the bar...which is only one block from where I live. The Chicago crew seems to be coming up weak. Berli tells me there is no way in hell he will b in Chicago Sunday afternoon (something about the local cops looking for him or something). Apparently the London bar is very close to where Peter lives.
  12. My game with David did end kinda funny. As my gamey Firefly and Roos were flying across th bridge to the VL there were like 15 5crews running the oppisite direction toward th bridge. I watched it trying to figure who was doing the more gamey move. He is right about my "spearhead" ...my damn Canadian troops would turn and run at the first sign of trouble. There wre somany things on fire and knocked out that the last 4 turns all I could do was command everyone to move toward the bridge and hope that somebody made it there. It was a twisted and ugly affair and one I hope not to repeat for some time. David has the honor of seeing the most disorganized assault I have ever had.
  13. Not exactly right boy_Recon. During an orders phase you save the game (doesn't matter if it's an orders phase of TCP/IP or PBEM). When you open the saved the saved game you will be asked if you want to play it TCP/IP, PBEM ect....Just choose the one you want and you're set.
  14. Heads up guys. was waiing for the new thread to post this because I did't want it to get lost in the shuffle. This Sunday June 3rd, 2001 I would like to do a Cesspool (or anyone else for that matter) beers around the world gig. Some of you may have seen my afternoon beer drinkin session. I would like to see if a bunch of us can get together on Sunday various cities around the world at the same time. I amthinking about 1pm EDT which I think is 5pm in London and noon in Chicago. The name of the bar in London is the Elbow Room and in Chicago it's in the Twisted Spoke. There is also a place in Scotland in Edinburgh called EH1. Here is the link to to site : http://www.onlinevenue.com/onlinestore/stellacam/stellacam_index.asp You can check it out and see if there is a place near you. Sound off if you think it will work for you guys. I will email Peng, Hiram and Croda to see if they can make it in this area. In London I hope Germangirl, Cuppy and Peter (who I owe a couple rounds to) can be on. And Berli, Moriarty, baushaus ect..in Chicago. Again there are other plces so check it out. And if you aren't near one of the bars you can still watch us and buy us beers online. Let me know guys.
  15. My understanding is that CM2 will be set front time Germany invaded the USSR until the war is over. There will be a CM? that is based on the early years of the war.
  16. David, Yes we have chutney but it is used primarily in eclectic resturants. As in "roast pork tenderloin with habernaro and wine sauce with mango chutney". As far as odd things, Philadelphia has something called "Scrapple". I don't believe is is widely available throughout the States and for good reason. It is butcher scraps ground up with some pepper and salt thrown in and savages slice it up and pan fry for breakfast. I wouldn't eat Scrapple again even if I was using Maces' mouth to do it. chrisl, you lowercase letter named bastard, I have not receieved the Hellcat dying file so send ASAP.
  17. Stuka, Glad you have discovered Kentuckys finest. I hope you are drinking the Wild Turkey 101 and not that 86 proof ****e.
  18. I forgot to assure everyone that at NO TIME did we step into the Lawyers evil lair.
