  1. I know were someone left his POV (privately owned vehicle)
  2. Well, well, well...What do we have here a little Devilpup with some bark. Guess this ole Gunny is gonna have to swat him on the nose. I don't think Steve'll mind this NDA violation in this case, but here goes. My attention was focused on other systems. For your information, just how freaked out would you be if you didn't have this?... .....Well no $hit alot! You can kiss my Red, White, & Blue arse for it. That's cause I was bitchin and moaning (maybe there were tears and weepin, maybe not) and recruiting every Devildog and swingin dick that would listen, cause yep you guessed it. They were not going to add the M40A3 to the CMSF:Marines! So you can understand why my attention was not on the M16A4. The reasoning was the bolt action would force an addition to the animation that was not there. So why put in the extra work on just a little itty bitty weapon like the M40A3? Cause look at the response, you gentlemen LOVE the scout/snipers. Hell there have already been snipers in CMSF, but we all see the difference with the M40A3. The team worked really hard to make sure that that pride and joy of the Marine Corps was kept in and not assumed to be replaced by the fancy new semi-automatic POS that the Ermie is using. I am by no means claiming credit for the insane amount of work and detail that BFC has put into this game, they are by far the smartest SOBs for listening and not just dismissing ideas that are suggested to them on a daily basis. So we should always remember that even if they don't put an idea in the next patch, Steve's "list" does exist. Peter & everyone who contributes, thanks for playing along and letting me share this inside "Skunkworks" anecdote. oOOHHRAH! Now to the point of misspelling Huntarr, well you know where your going for that......(someone point him the way) Semper Fi Link to hirez M40A3 images
  3. Just to clarify, by the book. FM 6-30 TACTICS, TECHNIQUES, AND PROCEDURES FOR OBSERVED FIRE 4-6. METHOD OF ENGAGEMENT ..... b. Danger Close. DANGER CLOSE is included in the method of engagement when the target is (rounds will impact) within 600 meters of friendly troops for mortar and artillery, 750 meters for naval guns 5-inch and smaller, and 1,000 meters for naval guns larger than 5-inch. For naval 16-inch ICM, danger close is 2,000 meters.
  4. Wha chu talkin bout MikeyD?! I had those up back before April. If you want the crazy (3504 x 2103) go to the Hi-rez link at the bottom in the sig line
  5. Without seeing a save the only thing I immediately see is that the unit is out of C2. Suggestion, run a turn with the unit not moving and see if the unit regains C2 or send me the save and I'll look at it.
  6. Some of this applies to your question of spotting, it ties to C2. By having them open they can spread C2 (spotting info) around not just by the Radio & FBCB/PDA (buttoned). Unbuttoned they have other C2 options.
  7. There was alot of discussion about the Main cannon being used on infantry. My personal opinion is that the Main cannon has been given too much priority to infantry, unless they are AT armed. I quoted him before and I'll do it again. One of the most recognized men on Armour Warfare states, "The sole purpose of the cannon on the tank is to let the tank get into where it can use it's machine gun to kill the enemy."-Patton If I want to waste the limited supply of HE on 1-2 men then I should be the moron to decide that. Just my 2 cents.
  8. My personal opinion on the use of mines as of 1.10. They should be kept to the bare minimum until BFC gets the engineering vehicles working. Foot soldiers would not be doing the heavy lifting during direct fire combat operations. Breeching vehicles and MICLIC are used when under direct fire. Just to be clear this thread is discussing the "Crossroads" battle in the Marine Campaign and not the entire campaign? If so, I'll see if I have an AAR lying around on "Crossroads"
  9. Your probably seeing a bug that gives the LAV AT only 3 crew men. They should have four. This caused them to be rather "blind". The bug was fixed, prior 1.10(fixed) I don't think the scenario got updated with the corrected LAV's. 3 options: You correct the LAV issue yourself by using the scenario designer. Purchase a new set of LAV AT's and delete the old ones. Thus giving you the corrected 4 man LAV ATs. Beg BFC to correct this scenario TO&E for the next 1.11 patch. Hope that, through no fault of our scenario designer, the Outstanding MarkEzra would correct this on his own limited free time and post it for all the world to enjoy. Small suggestion on this scenario, maybe break up the cliff wall just a little bit more, they have this "Hoover Dam" look that makes the cliffs seem artificial. Fun scenario overall
  10. It was possible to attach a PAUSE at waypoints around Sept. 2007, more than a year ago. I believe the version was 1.04 Remember "DeathBlossom"? Original thread link
  11. Courtesy of Chainsaw and others. His quote provides a visual Search "hulldown" or "hull down" for more info
  12. SPOILER ALERT!!! Rally your forces at the blue force Rally circles and suppress the hell outta the red Opfor circles. Orders: "You are not to decisively engage the enemy and preservation of your forces is a priority. This is a probing operation only. We want to move as quickly as possible to the north. Advanced to the north to Phase Line Shark using the surface roads and keeping an eye out for the enemy forces. Some losses are acceptable, just as long as we do not become bogged down and decisively engaged." The underlined text is 'my' interpretation of the orders. I figure you'd rather work on the solution yourself. I don't want to give too much away. If you need more detail we can work on that.
  13. I need to add a couple more to this...Hi-Rez Images Link
  14. "The sole purpose of the cannon on the tank is to let the tank get into where it can use it's machine gun to kill the enemy." I posted in #6 of this very thread.
  15. Your a bit late with thoughts on 1.1, since we're now at 1.10
  16. It's to BFC's credit that they allowed some very opinionated Devil Dogs to advise and test their pride and joy. One of our testers was trying to do the math on the team with its accumulated practical service knowledge, as well as theoretical knowledge, from various branches of the United States and a number of other countries (props to our Aussies and Brits) and it was pretty impressive. CMSF is looking more like a Joint Service trainer with soon to incorporate NATO Services everyday.
  17. Welcome aboard The Marine Addon will patch your Shock Force. So install CMSF then install CMSF:Marines.
  18. I do not recommend playing saved games prior to 1.10 once it is out. Best to finish what you have now. You will have a tendency to carry over old bugs/behaviors by playing old saves with a new patch.
  19. You don't CLEAR TARGET at the second waypoint you give TARGET/TARGET LIGHT/ARC/FACE to clear the target. CLEAR TARGET is an immediate command that can not be 'placed' at a waypoint. step #5 from "Shoot-N-Scoot w/SMAW" #5 Select the last waypoint(white circle) in the string and give the team a FACE or TARGET ARC in any future direction you wish Note: this will break the earlier TARGET command thus saving you from expending excess rounds
  20. Pandur, in Shoot-N-Scoot & Pop-N-Drop tutorials I placed a different option instead of QUICK you can use SLOW(vehicles are very accurate at that speed due to stabilization), right before you stop the vehicle, that will not degrade your accuracy. http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?p=1071602#post1071602 House cleaning Marines is a testbed I use for beta bug hunting. It's not a direct translation of the previous Army version. Sorry:(
  21. Concur with MikeyD, you can't make enough people happy with that. So Dev time might be better spent somewhere else. Since units are so diverse about how much and what they can carry the one button process has too many variables. I sure don't want them grabbing "Javs" when they don't have a "CLU". *rim shot*
  22. Exactly. With all the new behavior changes that training mission didn't get an update on it map. What it needs is a small berm in front of the Strykers so they are not in direct contact front with the tanks. This would allow the "student/player" to move his Strykers up in a hull down down disposition to spot the tanks and call for CAS/Fire Mission
  23. Your giving the unit a 30 sec PAUSE so it has the time to aquire and fire on the target, anything less than that and the unit will move to the next waypoint aborting the firing sequence. Are you talking about after the first firing? The TARGET ARC/FACE broke the first TARGET command if your leaving them in place. In the smart case you have moved the Jav team to a new position so that everyone and their mother doesn't rain down fire on the old Jav postition.
  24. Welcome aboard majorfatal Read the sig line at the bottom of my post it has several links you can start with and ask the Moderators to Sticky the ones you found useful. There are many in the Tactics and Strat Forum.
