  2. Concur that we should be able to have no LOS targeting but with a penalty against accuracy. It would not be "gamey" since an Area Fire can not be larger than 400m now. Possibly also limiting the size of the area/linear pattern to 200m in size if you have no LOS.
  3. That's the about the size of the by-the-book standard Marine Corps MEU la-trine. Those MRE's usually let loose all about the same time. Note the steam
  4. The problem currently is that ole school CMx1 players interpret the current "HUNT" as the ole "HUNT" when in reality it is the ole "MOVE to CONTACT" command from CMx1...... See, clear as mud. HUNT=MOVE to CONTACT from CMx1 Now we all know that we want some of the old features from CMx1 but since we have to make due, let's work with the system not against it. The team on the right will go to the kneeling position (after it drops to prone from seeing a big frickin tank) and engage the tank if spotted. If they are not able to spot from a kneeling position, remember that the enhanced LOS has different positions based on prone, kneeling, standing, and I believe 2 more for the vehicle heights. So you need to simply move the unit "a little bit" closer, I would use SLOW (crawling). JonS, your safe from the "the Pit" since you "covered" your arse nicely
  5. Example Cont. The team on the right spots the Tank and drops to the ground, they will have to wait a bit before they will kneel (under TacAI ROE). The team on the left have the same waypoints but they didn’t spot the Tank during it’s HUNT. They do spot the Tank while they are moving SLOW and pop that tin can. All this is WEGO Hope that helps ya out. Petition to have this moved to the Tac & Strat
  6. You had the right idea DevilPup. I can think of roughly 2 options. You can wait till the unit goes to a kneel position and then they will fire or you can be a little more aggressive (like a good Marine) and give them the SLOW once they have halted the HUNT. The infantry will stop SLOW once it sees the Tank and fires it's Javelin/SMAW. If I have a contact <?> I usually HUNT to roughly where I think the Tank will be seen then I place an additional SLOW waypoint in case the HUNT doesn't make contact. Example. Two <truncated> Assault teams are moving to the ridge that over looks an OpFor Tank. HUNT is the 1st waypoint and SLOW the 2nd leg.
  7. It only took us 223 years to train them not to mutiny and square away their trash. No one ever said a Squid was sharp........ just soft. Oh, riiight they’re reeeally gonna miss us. Outstanding nostalgic find there DevilPup, It’s like the Instant Soup version of My Beloved Corps’ History. Not once did it mention Dan Daley or Chesty Puller, you know what that means…….”The Pit” with you! Semper Fi
  8. They also agreed, if there was precise intelligence, the U.S. could undertake ground operations through special forces within five kilometers of the border without informing the Pakistan Army beforehand. According to former Pentagon expert Col. David Hunt, the particular unit was the U.S. Marine Corps Special Operations unit called Detachment One. Hunt claimed that CIA, which for years has had a close working relationship with Pakistan's intelligence agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence, had been warned prior to the U.S. attack. "We didn't ask permission," Hunt asserted. "We told them we were coming."
  9. Outstanding question DevilPup! But let’s get your nomenclature squared away. The U.S. Marine Corps used pith helmets called "elephant hats" in the South Pacific during WWII. Pith helmets were also worn by recruits in United States Marine Corps Boot Camp. Someone else used them before that but heck, they weren't Marines so we don't really care to give that history lesson. The pith helmet has currently seen use as a form of identification by U.S. Marine Corps rifle range coaches at Parris Island and San Diego, similarly the campaign hat is worn by drill instructors At any Marine Corps rifle range in the world there is one thing Marines can count on seeing every time; the pith helmets of Marine Corps rifle range coaches. The duty of a range coach is straightforward: Assist the Marines under their respective tutelage to attain the best score possible by learning and maintaining the basics of Marine Corps marksmanship. With long hours, no set lunch break schedule and working weekends, the coaches are dedicated to what they do for the Marines and the Marine Corps. Gawd Love'em cause some of ya'll couldn't hit the broad side of a mount'in before you met'em The prerequisites for being chosen to be a range coach are similar to being a recruiter or drill instructor in the Marine Corps. The Marine cannot have any personal problems with weight, finances, pending non-judicial punishments and needs to be reliable. No certain rifle range score is needed. In order to wear the coveted pith helmet and train Marines, the prospective coaches must complete a four-week course at Edson Range on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. Now that we have yar sorry excuse for sand flea bait ed-ja-ma-cated on the proper nomenclature of the Pith helmet you can spend some time in “the Pit”. Now gimme 100!
  10. Semper Fi DevilPups Thanks for the support, see you in the Marine Module
  11. Welcome Aboard pcpilot, we'll cut you some slack on this one (30 mins in the pit) but we need you to get in shape if your gonna be pushing Devildogs around in the new Module.
  12. 3. has been addressed in the Marine Module. You'll see a more responsive Check fire as well as a rather "enhanced" Fire Support change.
  13. The following is a dramatization. For the satirically impaired this a joke.... How Cover should work when near buildings
  14. You just have to know who to call for the "Hook Up" pkjsmith. Heck Devilpup, this Marine still doesn't know how he got here. I think they were looking for a Semper Psycho and well....you get the rest. They probably haven't figured out a way to lock me out of Skunkworks yet.
  15. September 04, 2008 Associated Press ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - American forces conducted a raid inside Pakistan on Sept. 3, a senior U.S. military official said, in the first known foreign ground assault against a suspected Taliban haven. Pakistan's government condemned the action, saying it killed at least 15 people. The American official, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of cross border operations, said the raid occurred about a mile inside Pakistan. The Washington-based official didn't provide details on casualties. Pakistan's Foreign Ministry protested the attack, and an army spokesman warned that the apparent escalation from recent missile strikes on militant targets along the Afghan border would further anger Pakistanis and undercut cooperation in the war against terrorist groups. The boldness of the thrust fed speculation about the intended target. But it was unclear whether any extremist leader was killed or captured in the operation, which occurred in one of the militant strongholds dotting a frontier region considered a likely hiding place for Osama bin Laden and al-Qaida's No. 2 leader, Ayman al-Zawahri.
