  1. Also done for all, but forgot to post here. Rune
  2. Has anyone heard from dalem? After reading this, I was worried it could have been him. http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/11/30/lava.lamp.death.ap/index.html Rune
  3. *Sigh* Here we go again, the Justicar himself saying rules cannot be broken, when none other then himself BROKE all tradition by stealing my serf. I was properly administering the *Boot* to him [the serf, but I WOULD enjoy the opportunity to do so on Joebob] , when stolen for no other reason then he is a Marine. Why do I bring this up? We have precedence here Pengers. If the rules can be broken by Joebob, then anarchy I say! Cry havoc and let losse the dalem of War! [sheesh Peng, now you got me doing it]. Joebob,, get the 3.02m patch to Pacific Fighters, but stay away from the 3.03 for now. You'll thank me later. Rune
  4. Doing research on the Cruiser tanks, it seems they were NOT given the degination of burns easily for no reason. I am GUESSING the reason is the Cruiser tanks all had gasoline engines, whereas the majority of other British tanks were diesel. I found one reference that states the engine did burn when hit, but any engine would, so I am guessing it has to do with the fuel. More if I find anything. Rune
  5. Look at the model, the lower part IS 60mm @ 90 degress [or 0 degress] and upper hull rear is also 60mm. The actual tank according to onwar and Encylopepdia of Tanks os 60mm @90 degrees, and the upper hull would be 17mm @30 degrees which is actually LESS protection then what the game gives. Rune
  6. It reports what is reported to directplay. Run a command, then ipconfig if XP. It will show you the local ip address. That is what is listed. Directplay is part of Microsoft so not easily coded around. That being said, who knows what may happen in CMX2. Rune
  7. Just a correction, this is what Matt said about the sub machineguns. Do you really think they would notice that? [Wink] Cute.. Well I have already addressed the L3/33 texture issue in the other thread. The MG-34 issue, while unfortunate is still rather minor. The Thompson vs. Sten thing, again a minor issue at best. It's 6 firepower points difference at VERY close range (less than 40 meters). The point I am making is that the things that Michael mentions are not in of themselves worthy of us making yet another patch. Sure, it's a shame they didn't make it into 1.01 or 1.02 or 1.03 but that's how it goes. I know that's not what you want to hear, we all love patches for our favorite games, but that's the truth. At some point, the patch cycle for a released game must come to an end so focus can be re-applied on the future and that time is now. Now, if some kind of show stopping bug rears its ugly head, well then we may have to release a new patch and it's possible that we could throw in a few extra changes and fixes to that patch (yes, like the Mg-34 thing), but as it stands now, v1.03 is the last patch for CMAK. Madmatt
  8. ZGlad you got it working, but I think all you needed to do is remove it and readd it, but glad you are running, and told ya it wasn't CMAK 1.03. Still messing with the nvidia/zone alarm thing. Rune
  9. Exactly junk, and it should in CM also. It worked as advertized for Matt and his ATI card, but i have an NVidia 6800 card, and I cannot see the prompt to allow it access. So not sure if it is nvidia or the firewall. I just tested the 66.93 and the 67.50 nvidia drivers and they both do the same thing. It does it on three separate computers. Newest Zone Alarm. I can't roll it back, but turning it off, I am able to conenct no problem. Someone have the 45 version [older] of Zone Alarm to test this with? First with old nvidia drivers then the newer drivers. Rune
  10. Because the firewalls are smart enought to know it is a newer version of the program, it will automatically ask if you want to grant it access to the internet. NIS and Zone Alarm both do this, the newer version triggers the question. I do NOT know if it is nvidia or the firewall or the combination yet, as I am still working on this. Turn off the firewall, and it works, which proves it is NOT CM. Also I have the exact same problem with other programs like Diablo 2 and Dungeon Siege and others. Rune
  11. Schully, I tried that, I removed Cm and tried to add it, and I could not get it to work. Reading Zone Alarms web page, they suggest an expert setup, that was the solution to get around the Diablo 2 acting the same way. So, I need to work with someone who really knows zone alar,. Any volunteer out there? Rune
  12. Matt said it best... As the Beta Test Lead, if you want to point the blame at someone, it is with me, and NOT my testers. Obviously, I was extremely upset that the PBEM bug got introduced, but to the testers defense, Charles has acknowledged that it occured very late in the test cycle and due to some other internal changes he was making to properly support all the various versions of CMAK that now exist. As soon as I got word of a potential issue with 1.02 (less than 24 hours after its release) I strove to minimize the exposure of the patch and worked with Charles to identify and fix the reported bug. We have now done so and as soon as we run some more tests we will announce and release the new 1.03 patch. I am sincerely sorry for anyone that downloaded the 1.02 patch and might have lost a in-progress PBEM game. However, let me stress that I will not allow people to chastise my core of testers. They give of their time and resources freely and wish only to improve the games that they are assigned to. It isn't fun (I see to that!), its hard work and I am very proud of my team. A cursory glance at the past will show clearly how dedicated we are to fix problems that crop up like this and we are going to do the same this time. So, for now, sit back, let us get this all fixed and for the moment SHUT YOUR PIE HOLES!
  13. Do you have a firewall? It almost sounds like what happened to me with each build and zone alarm kicks off preventing me from accessing. Remember, new file, you have to grant it permissions. Just an idea... Rune
  14. Boo , You are telling Joebob how to fly? Weren't the two of you around when DAEDALUS & ICARUS flew?* I bet you both were consultants for the Wright Brothers too. Rune * If you do not know the story....tough
  15. Joebob , I was just questioning if that was the rest of his quote. Of course, I could have assumed so, it IS dalem afterall, but trying to give the lad the benefit of the doubt. As for the F4F, 110% power, remove the chocks, and lift off, as soon as you clear the end of the deck, you have to manually raise the gear. Keep the flaps at takeoff until 100 meters then retract them. I never had a problem taking off in it, unlike the Corsair fully loaded down, now THAT is scary. I am into 1944, flying the F6F now, taking out aircraft and airfields. Sometimes I even shoot down Japanese aircraft! Rune
  16. Lady Moraine , You have earned my gratitude and the right to slap Hiram around a bit. Make the slacker take you out to dinner and a movie, followed by drinks. Heck, I'll even buyt he first round. Rune
  17. A Seanachai spotting... yesterday, my children were play testing a game called World of Warcraft, and low and behold, there were gnomes. The Gnomes made the dwarf look like a giant! I imagine Seanachai posed as a model for the game. Also, today is the B_Day of the US Marine Corp, which also happens to be the birthday of Sesame Street. Co-incidence? I think not... Rune
  18. Joebob, Yes, I have been flying my Wildcat and have completed the Coral Sea battles, and am now fighting at Midway, while not beta testing three other games. While great fun, it is buggy out of the box, but the beta of the dgen file does take care of some of the annoyances, like the AI flying into mountains. Dagnabit, we can do that without any help, thank you very much. I look forward to seeing you and Harv crash into the ocean repeatedly. Rune
  19. Joebob, , Since the lad is so close to losing it, shall I send him a Rune Scenario to play someone in? That should drive him over the deep end. Rune SAY, there's a bit of good news. What can we do to ensure that you know you have reached your limit? Joe </font>
  20. A lost tribe of Seanachai? http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/science/10/27/dwarf.cavewoman.ap/index.html Rune [ October 27, 2004, 07:08 PM: Message edited by: rune ]
  21. Actually a lot of "An Army at Dawn" came word by word fro the Green Books. I have the cd set of all the books, and it was a great investment. However, "An Army at Dawn" still has quite a bit of information, and is definitely worth the read. I have a couple books by Alan moorehead for the british perspective, however, remember he was a newspaper reporter, and some of his facts are wrong, but still good for an overview. Rune
