One thing that has always kind of bugged me is that when they get shot at the Syrians seem to yell, "Kaif Halak!" which is a greeting that means, "How are you?" I'm not sure if that is what they are actually saying but that is what I hear.

When a vehicle is hit by a HEAT round it will cause splash damage. I've never really checked to see if this is greater if the vehicle has ERA. I'll also have to check if Sabot rounds cause splash damage.

Good advice. Believe it or not neither this map nor Pooh were designed with any specific approach in mind. I just tried to recreate what I saw in the Google Earth and other sat photos. There are multiple ways to approach this one. Lately I have been having success pushing hard from the left but I have also pushed in the center and on the right and triumphed. It is interesting to see that the AI arty is being so responsive. Kind of warms the cockles of my heart, maybe lower, maybe the sub-cockles.

One thing to remember about US arty in WWII was that prewar doctrine was driven by the fact that the US Army had to try to get the most out of really crappy guns. In order to get their old 75's to be even marginally effective they had to do creative things with fire patterns and fire control, ToT barrages and such, that they were able to carry on later when they got better guns.

An interesting note about this. The company I work for deals with the private plane operated by Saudi Refining that they use to fly the princes and other high company and government officials about (if you can call a 767 a private plane). That must have taken quite a while. Our translators when I deployed to Gitmo in '95 were all Navy and about half of them were HUGE. They would have been chaptered out of the Army long ago.

You know, I don't recall C4 having any specific smell. Usually everything was overwhelmed by that generic "military equipment pulled out of storage" smell that all armsrooms seem to have. I remember it being a lot mushier than I expected.

Just lots of the noisy parts of a battle rather than the other 90%. Nothing fake other than making it seem that this was all happening at the same time. It most likely showed nearly the entire operation smooshed down to three minutes.

The 1.11 campaign fix works like it's supposed to. Unfortunately you will have to start over.

There are no preplanned arty strikes in Pooh. Everything you see arty wise is the AI. Personally I hate preplanned barrages. As the designer you can either make them deadly accurate, which feels to me like cheating, or you can make them miss which I feel is a waste of assets that the AI might be able to use. In the 1.11 patch the AI is even better with his arty.

Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it. Even rune's scenarios to test for cornering are on 4kmX4km maps with a corps vs the Republican Guard. Not just one unit, ALL of them.
