It reminds me of the U-505 on display in Chicago. There were some U-tube videos at the Few Good Men that caught my attention. I won't buy on the 30th but I'll continue to follow developments. Financially things are rough but if it releases at 30 Im reallly tempted especially as I think itll probably retail for more. Yes though it does look really cool, though there are a couple issues Ive seen. That said the developers have mentioned a lot of stuff I never saw on the stream and I dont see why theyd simply lie - if half of the stuff I heard was confirmed done is actually done itll be shockingly good IMO (esp with how it looks playing even now on EA) 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But it wasnt frequent at all and wasnt really done for scavenging at all. More like "oh cool a flag we can souveneir." Still pretty minor niggle compared to everything else especially as a game has never been done from this vantage point; and you know I know my history fairly well - there hasnt been anything in about 2 hrs Ive watched thats made my eyes bleed from a historical perspective at all. I mean I dont recall ever seeing squads of enemies in a same room just stare at eachother for lack of bullets but it happens in CMx2. Its not game breaking though it seems a bit silly at times. Does it come up much? No. The scavenging Ive heard of seems like its optional and you get a few pieces of metal or some random fruit/food and thats it. There does seem to be a long ways for variety and stuff to do but its early access and Ive got to say its the most innovative and "fits well" idea for a U Boat game Ive seen. And it has a lot of cool details and stuff on the model looks impressive. One guy was in a severely heavy storm for a while and then noticed his UBoats control room had a little water on the floor - he'd left the conning tower hatch open in the storm. Some things like that look very promising in respect to the games engine and possibilities. Of course it could very well be a dud but I really wish them the best. We need more simulation games that emphasize realism and dont jump immediately to MP PVP matches with loot boxes. I did it all with 3 and 5 was so underwhelming and bugged when I messed around with it for a week... That said it looks like it leans way more towards simulation and has a lot of neat authentic touches. Modded I can see this being a classic classic game. I liked SH3 with TWOS and full realism. I still ordered people to do the firing solution though LOL. I want to be a captain - not do everyones job as well. It can be as simple or as difficult as you want it to be. Lots of good tutorial vids on youtube now. But its still EA and Im certain thatll be modded out if nothing else first. That or hackenkreuzes get my guess for the first things to be modded lol. Still - everything else really has me sold. Ive seen it streamed now where it was 1941 and also right before the war in sept 2 39 and a mission was appropriate to right before the war commences with the west. Ive seen some other missions. The rest of the stuff - even now if the bugs are fixed and moddable the game would have a good future. The fact its still EA? Im very very hopeful. I could be totally wrong but Ill let everyone know in the next week as Para will too Im sure. I know Im also excited at the abilities to grow your crew. I loved building and managing my crew in SH3 and that was very abstract your crew is much more visible/real to you in this. Also the side view etc was what really what drew me but even the first person etc doesnt look bad at all. Also I have to say - HMS on steam thats in beta looks really cool though definitely history lite. Same with an aircraft carrier game.. Ill have to dig up the name it looked good but also history lite - I did see some errors historically but it looked cool in a damage management sort of way. Ill probably pass but the HMS game looked more interesting and Id add that only looked history lite at a glance more due to what the ship size I saw looked like. Of course that could change or be a concession to how staggeringly big modelling a true ship of the line would be in cutout view. I'd like to see more WW2 naval theatres than just the Atlantic and Pacific: Arctic, Baltic, and Mediterranean (Black Sea too). The tutorial can be frustrating -until you just slow yourself down.dont do thinfs to quick and its seamless and youll be ready. Starting first sandbox. For early access im very impressed and I like a lot of things. Im really hopeful here. Right now Id honestly recommend anyone woth Uboat interestto get it if they can - once modded Im sure itll be grog enough as is its pretty decent and groggy.
