  1. I haven't tried it, but I assume it might be possible to have on-map artillery units delay their fire-missions using the various Pause commands.
  2. My working theory is that OP's opponent is a car valet.
  3. Fortress Italy v200.brz is from the Game Engine 4 upgrade. Go to My Orders and select the one in which you purchased either Fortress Italy Engine 4 Upgrade or Game Engine 4 Upgrade Pack. Then, install the 4.0 upgrade, then install the 4.0 patch. That oughta work.
  4. @umlaut You're playing with peoples' emotions right there buddy.
  5. Looks like a burlesque comedy sketch. in Red Thunder, they also messed up and extended the date range until May 1945, which includes cold temperatures and snow visual effects (no ground textures though),
  6. I was so curious about this feature that I just tested it out... Fortress Italy, latest patch, Iron. Crappy HMG-armed tanks vs. Italian "volunteers". Turns out a full contact or even a tentative contact marker will prevent casualties. Makes a lot of sense given CM's abstractions.
  7. I don't know why that tank was targeted, as it seemed sort of off-course from the enemy team, but I know that ricochets *will* harm friendly units. Whatever that MG was shooting it, I'm fairly certain the tank commander died from a ricochet in the cupola.
  8. @Sgt.Squarehead Pretty sure that they've been more or less confirmed so far. In the 4.0 upgrade for Fortress Italy, you could see a number of un-selectable factions in Quick Battles. The Brazilians were among them. The devs have corrected this "inclusion" in the latest patch.
  9. It should be a criminal offense to revive an old thread called Time For Bones despite no official updates being publicated. One day, an old grog with heart issues is going to collapse over his morning coffee with no screenshots of the new modules to show for it.
  10. Bah alors du coup, c'est assez simple... This is the sound a frenchman makes when he gives an explaination. You can select the Axis and Allied Friendly Map Edge setting in Mission > Data. They are located near the bottom of the list of settings.
  11. I believe you could easily switch if you make a copy of the pre-patch executable.
  12. @Falaise I think you should absolutely download the patches for all games you own. The thing with the broken "retreat" behavior was that good troops in good positions (trenches, foxholes, etc...) would flee from safety to dangerous open ground regardless of the conditions. Even an inaccurate light mortar barrage could trigger this behavior. Now, troops can still flee, but in logical conditions. Also, you have to consider the broken firing patterns of allied LMG's. Depending on the scenario, an American or Commonwealth player could find himself without any automatic firepower beyond 150 to 200 meters. Now Brens and BARs happily let it rain! Also keep in mind that the two behaviors mentioned totally broke some scenarios/campaigns, leading to some puzzlingly lopsided victories.
  13. I've setup an arduino board so that I receive a small shock every time the word "very" is posted on this forum. I won't be missing the long-awaited release of the patches, no sir!
  14. Uh, little bit early to be talking about this... However, if I recall correctly, it's been said that Black Sea might be the next game to get a module after FI and RT. As for Shock Force 2, it's also been said that it would not be getting post-release content, the title is meant to reflect the amount of work involved in the "modernization" of Shock Force, it's considered a complete package as it is.
  15. Why all the fighting? Let us just reunite and pray for the prompt release of the 4.0 patches as well as the next two planned modules.
  16. But have you re-installed the game by running the .exe in a new, virgin, folder? Combat MIssion can be corrupted by the presence of other files in the .exe's folder upon installation. I've had it happen to me, to hilarious results, because I had put the demo files in the same folder when I installed them. Also, could there be some rights management issues at play? Combat Mission puts scenarios, maps, campaigns, etc... In your "home" folder, so maybe they weren't written correctly or the game can't read those files (triggering unexpected behavior)?
  17. All I want is for in-game Bren guns to mirror their absolute power.
  18. Does that run the risk of invalidating your keys or something? Can you do it between hard-drives on the same computer? Glad I caught this thread because I'm upgrading my storage pretty soon...
  19. Amazing mod! The Syrian factions need love too, they're having a hard enough time as it is getting blasted by artillery and tanks they can't see.
  20. I ran a similar test, but had the JTAC team face a trio of insurgents instead of a taxi. Upon taking fire (enemy not spotted yet), they stop and execute the Hide command. However, some seconds later they start opening fire in self-defence (as the enemy was rather close), but resume hiding after taking a few shots (and the cycle continues). About infantry using small arms against tanks : they will try to shoot at an exposed commander.
  21. Just tested a simple scenario (JTAC team vs. transport taxi) and it appears that the Hunt command does not cancel a Hide "at waypoint" command if a unit is spotted. You learn something every day...
  22. @wadepmMost liekly Anti Aliasing provided through your graphic card's global or per-application settings.
  23. I have to say I agree about the maps, some of the best in the series. About CMFB's difficulty, well, I suppose it may have something to do with the setting. After all, you have all the deadliness of later-war equipment : King Tigers, up-gunned Shermans, American infantry with additional automatic weapons, plenty of Stg44's, more panzerfausts than you know how to use! Then you also have the setting of the battles : unprepared allied units, desperate counter-attacks, depleted German units relying on a mix of veterans and green recruits... A far cry from CMFI's mix of ridiculously under-equipped Italians and mid-war allies and Germans.
