  1. By the way, isn't there a way to edit the ammo supply in a QB or editor? Sometimes the amount of ammo may be a bit overkill. Polo
  2. Sounds good to me... On the other hand, I don't agree trenches provide enough cover against small arms fire. But that doesn't mean I won't later on. Regarding protection against artillery, it may be OK for what I have seen. Polo
  3. I also noticed there was contact when enemy vehicules are moving in the vicinity. Probably not a bug, but a quite cool feature: great for quick ambushes. I doin't think it is the case with infantry. Polo
  4. This Ding, you probably just would have to ask the author. He will probably be glad to help. Polo
  5. Probably because at least half the buyers for Battlefront are not Americans, most of them not so much interested in the Pacific theater. Polo
  6. Yes, apprently some missions have intelligence indications (for example because of success of previous recon mission) Polo
  7. You sure it is the crew from the very vehicule you are trying to recrew? Polo
  8. For French speakers, get to: http://www.appui-feu.com/ (Best French site, if not the most active world-wide CM online club, I am not kidding) Polo
  9. Right! I was wondering why I seldom had the choice! That makes sense, since I guess you have to be very precise with those fuse timers. (except if you have VT)
  10. In fact, some buildings appear much better for cover. Anybody has stats or tips about that? Is it possible the upper floors are really less protected for some reason? Polo
  11. By the way, I have a problem with buildings IN GENERAL in CMBN. Hedges are fortresses, but house aren't. You should not be mistaken: in Normandy (and most other parts of Europe I know, except maybe in Northern Europe), nearly ALL buildings were (and still are) either stone, bricks or concrete (not sure but I don't think there are so much bricks in Normandy). And I say ALL. So unit hidden in houses should be virtually invulnerable to all but the bigger caliber small arms and MGs. That is not at all the case.
  12. Thank you for the historical perspective, guys; but in fact I was requesting a game (CMBN) tip. Polo
  13. Well flamethrower are a must with Commonwealth. I guess with those modern fancy directx packages or OpenGL, fire would be quite easy to implement (and a nice change for the "burning tank" too), and so awesome visually. I would be worth the effort. On my side, I would only buy a Commonwealth add-on if there were flamethrowers in it! :-) And Jagdpanthers too... And a Bourgebus ridge 4kmx4km scenario. Polo
  14. Well, on the other hand I got one with the 2nd or 3rd 37mm round from a Stuart... Shouldn't you use AP instead of HE? Polo
  15. Sorry SlapHappy, but I don't get your point: having the trenches with FOW does not necessarily imply they are not working... On my part, I agree the trenches are partly disfunctional: I don't think they are protecting enough from small arms. You just have to test the training campaign to be convinced of it, but I have had other examples of it. It appears hedges ("bocage") is almost like a supernatural protection, whereas trenches seem far less efficient. I hope they are more protective against mortar fire. Have you also go this impression? Polo
  16. What kind of artillery stetting are using against specific targets? For example: what kind are you using against trenches, or AT guns? Or AT guns in trenches? Thanks for your advice. Polo
  17. +1 for AT covered arc. It is one of the very few regressions with CMx2, and I don't even understand why it could have been overlooked in a CM game... AT guns management is a real issue in CMBN.
  18. I agree Skelley. As you just have to punch a hole to reach the lines, a concentrated tactic would be quite efficient. Polo
  19. Probably visibility issues during spotting round observation. Anybody has further details about the exact way it works? Polo
  20. Well well well... In fact I forgot about the 105mm during my bocage game (because of the "2 page" artillery menu!) I tell you it was a slaughter. The Germans didn't forget about THEIR arty! I only managed a draw rushing the second line, but I freaked out a bit near the end losing tanks after tanks after my infantry got slaughter 50%, panicked and became useless as a fighting force. Pretty damn interesting fight if you ask me. I just tried an opening barrage for the fun, only with the 105. The Germans lost 35% of their inf and the barrage went for 10 minutes! One other third of the Germans got lightly injured. Polo
  21. Lemon, You may be right about mortars (in general), but 120mm and 81mm were probably far more potent. Anyway the German didn't have any 60mm mortar, so I guess your stat is no answer, as Thin Red Line was speaking about the 60. Anybody with significant historical information about casulaties from 60mm and casulaties stats in general? Polo
  22. Well, you still are able to play multi in PBEM, so what is the problem? Sending e-mails? Could you explain me? Polo
  23. It is indicated that he is in contact with his HQ. But isn't his HQ "shaken" or "panicked" or something like that?
  24. Well, the demo is excellent (a much better looking CMSF... which I mean as a compliment) But unfortunately at the best graphic settings, the game crashes regularly. That is not very surprising for a new game, but it may be time for a tech support topic forum here for CMBN!
