Release Date. Seriously.

Recommended Posts

I know you guys have to keep it all ambiguous and stuff, but a concrete release date and time would suuuuuuuuurrre be nice for your loyal fans. I want to be able to clear my calendar that day, and game like a loon. Many other fans would gleefully take a day off (or two) to geek it up on CMBN. So..if you can..give up a release date. C' mon. You know we love you. Love us.

DAMMIT! I just finished up Mass Effect 2, which kept my attention while waiting for CMBN to come out. And Il2COD has been pushed back a month(Although from everything I've seen it needs to be), so there is nothing to occupy my brain now. I've read Antony Beevor's "D-Day" THREE times while waiting for this game!!!

In the words of the Python boys, "GET ON WITH IT!!!!!" :D

So go to the park and feed the pigeons. Or get heavily into porn. Your call.

Not much of a grey area for your idea of side hobbies, is there?:)

As to the former, I'm not much of bird person, and my work schedule precludes parks for anything but weekends. As to the latter, I'm a 33 year old single male with an internet connection. So your suggestion comes a bit late. :D

I stopped in here to see if there was "Franko's Rules of Release Dates", or somefink :)

When the demo comes out the game should be right behind it. That will give you a warning shot across the bow, so to speak.

And no, I'm not going to tell you when the demo is coming out. But nice try.

Steve

GRRRR. Just kidding, of course. It's sorta like telling Picasso to hurry up and drop that last bit of paint on the canvas. And really, there is a bit of art in what you're doing, so I don't want to be the "hurry up" guy. But some of us are really busy men, and I want a proper "man-cation" and I gotta plan it. So hurry up, Picasso, and finish your painting or I'll poop on your paintbrush.

Right. So does this really mean that your stated End of April deadline will not be met?

Don't forget that little word "around".

The full quote in context being:

"Battle for Normandy is scheduled for release around the end of April, 2011."

Which is different to just "End of April". :)

I too am keen to get it, but don't intend to read more into the statement than what was actually said.

Geez. Getting into the fine print now hey? If that was the intention then it would have been much better to say "around start of May" instead I reckon. In essence is the same thing (even if you consider the border between months an infinitesimal discrete change). Point to avoid precisely my kind of reaction, manage expectations and would not have cost a thing.

Thing is, and this has been said before, when the statement was made, they may well have believed that it actually could be released before the end of this month, only to have unanticipated delays crop up in the meantime. Why is that so hard to understand?

I do not think it is not understood. I can understand delays. Just thought it was much better from an expectations management point of view to state "around start of May", as it is essentially the same thing and would have also equally covered late april delivery.

Enough with all the fanboi-ism and misplaced patience!

We demand the games' release within 48 hours or this woman will be mailed to you one piece at a time!!!

(and no, we have been told you will not be able to put her back together again afterwards).

I suppose thats not much of a threat. No one cares about Roseanne Barr... But if you were to threaten the cubs... well then. We would have a crisis on our hands, sir.

I'm never sure if Steve's daily posting pace is good news (his part is done! :) ) or a bad (game is still weeks away :( ).

Anyway, is going "Gold" still the CMBN project's penultimate milestone like it was way back in the Dark Ages of CMBO's CD-ROM?
