Ural 475 & Kamaz 4310 Trucks

I was messing around with them in the editor and it seems you can't load anybody on them unless it's a squad of one or two guys that ride up front. Bigger squads won't load in the back.

They also don't carry any ammo, no matter what settings you use.

Do they serve a function game wise, besides being obvious bonfire material?

It was Snowball's decision from the beginning. They wanted what they wanted.

The argument was that once soviet forces deployed in Afghanistan (took them a few days if not hours) they almost never used trucks to transport troops as they had plenty of BTR's. Trucks were used to transport supplies. Hence you will see that any mission involving truck gives you a task to escort and protect them, not use them in any kind of combat support role.

I guess it is what it is, but it's kinda weird that Muj/Militia Tribesmen can't ride in them either.

Now that you mention it, having U.S. light infantry being transported around in open trucks in CMSF does seem like a bit of anachronism. It might've been common back when the game was being initially planned, not so much now.

Stupid idea, if trucks already in game, not give possibility to use it in different role.

And by the way it's wrong that soviets did not used trucks for people transporting, they use, and in many different roles

I agree that the decision to make the trucks unable to load infantry is unnecessary and limiting. The potential for using them in other scenarios and ideas would seem to be a win for the users of the game.
