Canuck
Looks great. Could some one tell me what the letters mean on the right-hand side of the screenies?? Overall looks very good-I can't wait to get my hands on this thing.
Hunter
Yep, looks mighty fine. Look forward to playing it immensely. Cheers, Hunter
Hubert Cater
Canuck Those are just temporary menu items (represented by letters for now) as this will all be replaced by something a little nicer (most likely symbols) in the end. In general the menu choices are typical such as Done, Purchase Units, Research, Diplomacy, Reports, Quit, etc.
Blashy
HC, Thank you very much! Just screenshots are enough for me until this product comes out. The scale is a huge improvement. Although I still intend to make one that uses the full scale of the map editor . BTW, is there anyway you could give me an idea at what is the maximum size for SC2? Keep up the goodwork ! I'm not trying to be a wise-ass but what do you mean by "max size"? Hard drive space required? Computer speed required? Max number of units? Max map size in the editor? How big the box will it come in? OK, now I'm a wise-ass.

Retributar
http://www.battlefront.com/products/sc2/index.html Huge and beautifully rendered 120x38 2-D isometric tile map with a true-to-scale recreation of Europe (max custom map size of 256x256)
Blashy
What is the scale of SC1?
SeaMonkey
Hex (sc1) = 50 miles. For your full map, SC2, at the equator, one tile = 93.75 miles. Obviously, there will be areas that you can condense, omit.
Col. Gen. Guderian
Yeah, this map looks around 4 times bigger than the old one.
Blashy
I mean as a comparison to SC. How big is SC in terms of as an example 256*256 ? How big will be the maximum for the editor? 500*500?
Fireball
Blashy, sometimes reading can work wonders. What do you think does the sentence "(max custom map size of 256x256)" mean ? 500*500 or 256*256 ? hmmmmm
SeaMonkey
Blashy, you got time to post...you got time to count. Load up the game and count the hexes. Simple?
Blashy
SC uses hexes, SC2 does not. It could be misleading. SC is 61 hexes by 51 hexes.

Exeter
A note on the screenshots; in them the only unit sizes are regiments and divisions. Have the army and corps scales been removed from the game in favour of these smaller unit sizes?
Turnberry
the only unit sizes are regiments and divisions. Have the army and corps scales been removed from the game in favour of these smaller unit sizes? Aren't they illustrating the flexibility of the game in being able to cope with a range of unit sizes? Exeter
Turnberry: I hope so, but those where the only unit sizes I saw on the info bars in the new screenshots. Just thought I'd get confirmation.

Hubert Cater
Hey Turnberry, This was indeed just a sample showing how the game engine is scaleable. Everything from grand campaigns covering the European Theater to smaller scenarios like Overlord, Kursk etc. Hubert
