CMMOS German Uniforms screenshots, pic intensive

Recommended Posts

Thanks to Becket I got these for you to look over.

Here is how I have done things, the rule-set starts off with a reset button for every non-snow German unit and type, then start the individual mods. First up are AndrewTF's mods with Heer units, then Luftwaffe (note their green or gold collar taps, then the SS (they use the SS runes). Then comes JorgeMC's work. Finally the misc units which include a temporary Grossdeutschland uniform mod using Mike Dorosh's website.

Next up and you only get a small glimpse of this are snow uniform revert to summer buttons, this returns any installed snow uniform to BTS summer defaults. Then come the varous snow uniforms again starting with AndrewTF, the JorgeMC.

Lastly are four screenshots from the Grossdeutshland mod. These show the difference between summer, cold, snow, and finally GD 42 with awards for surviving the winter of 41-42.

Bravo, Mike!!! :D

You've put a lot of hard work into this, and it looks great.

Of course I have to finish up my winter uniforms for the Germans, (I think I have late Fallschirmjäger, Luftwaffe ground troops, and Heer/LW tank crews in the works, as well as improved Heer splinter camo outfits) so you're not done yet. ;)

Thanks for comments guys. It has been an ordeal and I am around 98% done.

I am going to add a new feature to Luftwaffe Fallschirmjager 1944-45 tonight. Juju worked up a special mod for me, the German FG42 para-rifle/smg. I am going to use it to replace the MG34 LMG bipod mount.

Andrew, when finished with those mods just email them on over. I will take it from there.

Next up the Russian snow uniforms from 4 different people.

After that full division mods with uniforms and vehicles. Starting with a redone German 250th "Blue" Infantry Division, Fernando found a number of mistakes. Then the 28thSS Wallons. Then the crowning jewel, the Grossdeutschland..motorized regiment to infantry division to PanzerGrenadier Division. I am thinking about breaking it down into special regiments or even companies with dedicated vehicle markings and uniform piping.

So anyone with any detailed information, I have so much from Mike Dorosh's site which will help, but much is missing. If someone knows Panzer Leader email him for me, he worked with Mike on his site.

But for this weekend the German uniforms go for testing, I have someone who will test everything to make sure I didn't screw up again.

Hey guys, I've been helping test these and I can definitely confirm that they are going to be very much worth it.

The authors, of course, did amazing work. MikeT has taken their mods and packed them up incredibly. You know all the mix and match options AndrewTF has in many of his mods? All there, just click a button to switch from all white snow camo, to white smock/camo pants, etc. etc.

MikeT's even gone beyond that, adding tons of his own special touches -- like dedicated unit insignia for the 44-45 field grey uni or the SS-Polezei with their own special helmet and uniform with lime green piping.

I think most of the bugs have been squished. Soon, people, soon. :D

Oh, and the CMMOS interface for the Soviet unis is looking hot.

While drooling over these amazing mods tongue.gif I noticed that your CMMOS has five rule sets that are not on my version.

The sets are: Autobahn; Conversions; German Uniforms; Wehrmacht & Waffen SS; Pekhotnaya Forma.

It is possible that these rules belong to CMBO - which I bought but haven't yet played, or are specialist modders tools?

Please enlighten me, as I would hate to miss out on any facet of this game!

A.E.B., If memory serves autobahn is part of V4.03 CMMOs. You will find roads and train tracks there.

The other rulesets I created:

-German Uniforms is shown above and hasn't released yet.

-Wehrmacht & Waffen SS is for dedicated divisional mods, which include not just uniforms but vehicle changes as well. I got plans there.

-Pekhotnaya Forma is for Russian Uniforms. I got that rule-set essentially done. I did forget Naval infantry but only have to rearrange things tonight and start on the various mods I have already done, they need only relabeling and testing. The Russians proved simply compared to the Germans. Didn't take long at all to do that rule-set.

-Conversions, I was never told what Gordon had in mind. I decided to create the rule-set to house theater mods such as a CMBB version of Desert Fox, Desert Rats.

I also created a personal ruleset for testing purposes or for anyone that wanted to created a CMMOS mod but don't intend on it being used by the public. Here people don't need a rule-set number from me, just do what they want and have some fun.

Yeah, I had problems with that -- I had d/l'd a lot of mods, yet couldn't see them. That's because I hadn't downloaded & installed the rulesets in the right way -- CMMOS is ruleset driven.

Here's my step by step I made for a friend:

1. Start at www.combatmission.com -- see the later section of this for CMMOS mods that are on www.cmmods.com.

2. Go to the section that has mods you want, i.e., winter soviet tanks. Download the ruleset first.

3. Start CMMOS, make sure you've configured it to point to the CMBB executable. Hit "configure". You'll be taken to a new screen that has two tabs on the left -- mods and rulesets. Hit the rulesets tab, then hit "add". Select the ruleset you just downloaded and hit ok. The ruleset should now appear in the list.

4. Go back to combatmission.com and download the mods you want that are associated with that ruleset.

5. Go back to CMMOS, hit the "mods" tab, and hit "add." Select a mod, hit okay. You should now see the preview pic for the mod. Repeat for all the mods you downloaded. Close the configure screen when you're done.

6. Now, if all worked correctly, you'll have a tab in CMMOS for the ruleset, and buttons contained on that tab. Usually, the first set of buttons restores default BFC textures, the next ones install mods, but each ruleset is different. Mouse over and you'll see a description of what each button does. Smooth sailing from here: hit a button and follow the directions.

7. Repeat for other mod collections you want: d/l & install the ruleset, then d/l & install the mods.

8. www.cmmods.com: mods at cmmods.com don't always specify which ruleset they go under, so you have to use some trial and error. But if you d/l all the rulesets, then you won't have that problem. smile.gif

I know this is way too simplistic, but if it helps anyone get started, that's okay. Once you have CMMOS up and running you won't go back -- the ability to choose whether or not to, say, put aerial recognition flags on your Tigers at the touch of button is just incredible.

Steve

I made a folder in my CMBB folder called "CMMOS." I have individual folders in there for "Rulesets," "Soviet-Winter," "Soviet," "German-Winter," "German," "German Uniforms" smile.gif , etc.

I then download the mods to the appropriate folder so that I can keep track of them. Important: Never unzip a CMMOS file, CMMOS loads them up zipped.

As to whether you can delete the file you downloaded, I'm not sure.

As we are going to be installing lots and lots and lots of mods in the near future I see a "little" problem looming...

So far I have downloaded all my CMMOSed mod-zips into one folder. This folder is getting pretty large to say the least. Im having some major problems in finding the most recent files that havent been installed yet. I know I could always install them in a sub-folder, but what Id really like is the ability in CMMOS to choose a bunch (or a whole folder) and install them all in one go. If the fiels have been installed before, no biggie, they get installed again and work as before.

I spoke about this to Gordon a few months ago but he wasnt very eager over it.

What do you guys think? Would it be useful? Hard to implement?'

Steve,

You can download the mods to any directory. After you "load" the mods into CMMOS you can actually delete the downloaded file, as CMMOS saves a copy of the zip into the ..CMMOS\CMBB\Mods\ folder. As such, the downloaded mod is redundant.

Mike,

Excellant job on the unis and I'd like to thank you and the other guys on the great job your doing taking CMMOS to another level,by the way I have all the rulesets and mods installed for CMBB and I don't see the Autobahn ruleset in CMHQ where Gordon did his last update before he left.I have all the others except for the new ones that you haven't released. Is it somewhere else? Thanks again.
