  1. It's been a long time but I'm back. I'm trying to run CMAK on my newer pc (Dell Dimension Series E520, Windows Vista Home Premium: 32-bit) & I'm running into a snag. The game (CDV version) seems to install & patch to 1.03 alright but when I try to run it I get the message asking me if I did a full install & that the cd needs to be in the drive. I'm aware that the cd has to be in the drive to start the game & that it can be removed later. Can anyone here help me out as I've got no idea where I may be going wrong? Thanks.
  2. Same card (FX 5500 256mb) & the 81.98's seem to work okay.
  3. If you post your PC's processor type & speed, the amount of RAM, your graphics & sound cards info & OS (operating system) that you're using someone here may be able to help you out. Be sure to look in the CMBB & CMAK trouble shooting sections (under Support) of this site; there are a lot of tips on resolving performance issues, etc.
  4. I'm considering buying the game & I'd like to know if it'll run well on my computer. My system is a Dell Dimension 4500, Windows XP (SP 2), 512 DDR RAM, Pentium4 2.0 GHz processor at 266 MHz, a BFG Geforce FX 5500 (256 MB) OC (factory overclocked) graphics card, Direct X 9.0c & a Sound Blaster Live (Value) 512 PCI card. I know someone will say that I should download the demo but I'm on a slow poke AOL dial-up connection & downloading a file that size would probably take me until this time next year to do. Thanks in advance for any help.
  5. I found this New Zealand site pertaining to Crete a few days ago. I haven't been able to really go through it yet (I've been really sick ) but it looks pretty detailed & well put together from what I've seen.
  6. If anyone has a BFG Geforce FX 5500 OC (256mb) card this is what I've learned from speaking with one of the BFG technical people; set the AGP aperture size to 128 (not 256 as per the manual: "AGP aperture size should match the amount of memory on your BFG graphics card"). This will apparently improve performance & stability with this particular card. I've made the adjustment & found that it does help. Hopefully this helps someone here. 7. Some of us are not "lazy" people as you so rudely put it! Unless you're a hardcore gamer with tons of expertise these stats are meaningless. I bought one as I was constrained by the limits of the power supply of my computer (250 W). In fact, overall, I'm quite happy with my BFG Geforce FX 5500 (256 MB) OC (factory overclocked). Yes, it is not the best card by a long shot, but I wasn't about to go out & purchase a whole new system just to get a better (more wattage?) power supply (mine's a Dell & according to what they say I can't upgrade what's in there now). 8. Although this doesn't pertain to CM, after installing the 77.72's I noticed the opening movie (cinematic) for HTTR looked very nasty (seems the colours were "washed out" in appearance). This was using the driver default settings. I'm using an FX 5500 (256 MB). Not wanting to spend a lot of time trying to fix this (I wouldn't know where to begin anyway) I've reinstalled the 71.89's & the problem seems to been corrected.
  9. If memory serves me right, Zimmerit was applied from September 1943 to early September 1944. It was discontinued due to a combination of inaccurate reports of it catching fire when struck & the expense & time of applying it. Two coats were applied at the factory (each of which took 24 hours to set & dry). Gurra: Looking forward to playing with your mod of Andrew's Tiger (if it's released that is...). 10. Pretty cool Andrew. The Tiger "collection" is building! Thanks for these great mods.
  11. Thanks very much Mike. It's fantastic ( as per usual).
  12. Got the 501 & 504. Simply incredible. Thanks a lot.
  13. Gordon has 2 British & 1 captured Matilda mod over at CMHQ (at least they were there the last time that I looked).
  14. Thanks Gordon. It was my screw-up. I missed a space in the ruleset & that messed my conversion up. Mike was kind enough to fix my error & the mod works fine now.
  15. When posting please include your system specs. That way people are better able to help. Try changing the screen refresh rate to something like 85hz (or lower) & see if that works.
  16. Thanks I'd appreciate it if you can help me fix the damn thing. I've got all the other Pz III/IV mod CMMOSed (they work fine) & want this one to round out the "collection".
  17. Think I just had a minor stroke ! These look great (as per usual). Stackpole books has reprints of Wolfgang Schneider's Tigers in Combat ( volume 1 & 2 ). They're pretty cheap compared to the JJF original HC editions (which are pretty hard to find anyway) if anyone's interested. How's the family btw?
  18. If either of you guys are still hanging around these forums I could really use some help. I'm trying to DIY CMMOS Mikey D's DAK PzIIIJ (short, late) & I'm having a hell of a time with it. I've followed the file list to the letter & number but every time I try to activate the mod I get the damn "Tbar out of Progress Range" message. I checked the mod (I don't know how many times now) & I can't find any errors in it. Every other mod that I've done has been successful (installs & works just fine). It's driving me "around the bend". Gurra tried to help but wasn't able to. If either of you can help with this I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
  19. Uninstall & reinstall the game. Be sure to install the patch to C:/Program Files/Combat Mission 3 Afrika Korps/Run. Should read 1.03 after that.
  20. That's what mine says as well. I'll give it another shot later & see what happens. If this doesn't work I may have to resort some cartoon - like violence! Thanks for the help.
  21. Come on folks. Can someone please help with this one? (Pretty please) . I've tried everything I know & still SOL & it's driving me up the **cking wall!! I can't figure where I'm going wrong here.
  22. I'm trying to DIY CMMOS Mikey D's DAK Pz IIIJ (short, late) & I've hit a brick wall (so to speak). Every time that I try to install the damn thing I get the dreaded " TBar Progress out of Range " message. I know that I have the correct filelist & have typed in the correct spellling & punctuation in the Rule .txt file but I keep getting that bloody message. Everything else seems to work fine. Can someone please help before I run amok with a pointed stick?! Thanks.
