Kanonier Reichmann
Try winning that argument with a ladder player when you want to adjust his score as the attacker! Personally, I don't like your chances. Regards Jim R.

Kanonier Reichmann
I thought I'd give my own thread a bump to keep it front of mind for BFC. Regards Jim R.
Mr. Tittles
They have already said its been corrected. If you play Line of Defense, theres fortifications there and a test shows its been fixed.
Vanir Ausf B
Are they really going to release a CMBB patch? If so I wonder if they will also fix the screwed-up IS-2 Late stats (both the armor and gun penetration stats are wrong), as well as the Soviet AP penetration problem that makes StuGs such uber-tanks.

My point as Vanir alluded to was whether BFC will fix the still existing problem in CMBB. I'm obviously hoping they will by releasing one further (and final) patch. Mr. Tittles
MadMatt said they would but other than that, I have no idea when or if there will be other things patched.
Lt. Badger
So would y'all recommend just playing CMBB v1.02 and not installing the 1.03 patch? I just got CMBB as part of the combo pack with CMAK, and the version installed from CD was 1.02. I downloaded the 1.03 patch but haven't installed it yet. Should I? What is that patch supposed to fix? On balance, do the benefits of the 1.03 patch outweigh this new bug that has apparently been introduced by it? Lt. Herr Kruger
I'd just like to add my voice to those hoping that this gets fixed in CMBB!

Kanonier Reichmann
Yes, enquiring minds want to know. If it's in a thread if you could possibly post a link to it that would be greatly appreciated. Regards Jim R.
Herr Kruger
I just wanted to say... I really, really hope this gets fixed! It seems a serious enough issue and it would be great to hear BFCs thoughts on this. J Kruger

Badger Make a backup copy of your combat mission executable before installing the patch. That way, you can have both versions of CM installed. You just have to start the right executable. Kanonier Reichmann
In a nutshell Badger, v1.02 has a fairly major bug when it comes to infantry and AT guns placed in a defilade position behind a ridge or just behind the top of a hill i.e the equivalent of hull down for a tank. When said units were placed in these positions it turned out that direct fire guns couldn't actually hit them at all either firing too short or firing too high so that the shot would pass harmlessly overhead. You, in effect, had "untargetable" units when in such positions which direct fire units such as AFV's, AT guns etc. couldn't touch! Bottom line, what do you hate the worst, certain fortifications costing you casualty points in favour of your opponent or "untargetable" enemy infantry, guns etc. when in a perfect defilade position. Lt. Badger
Thanks, y'all. Guess I will install the patch - sounds like the bug in 1.02 would be more of a problem than the bug in 1.03. Lt. Badger

manchildstein (ii)
another consideration for the '1.04' patch.. is that blast value of '9' for the romanian hotchkiss 25mm aa correct?... i mean the german 20mm is '4' and the russian 25mm is '3'.... '9' seems high for that 25mm hotchkiss...

Kanonier Reichmann
Good question. There's never been any official reply as far as I can tell. Regards Jim R.
RSColonel_131st
Damned. I only patched to 1.03 today, and am already playing a 500 Point PBEM where a good 125 are spent on mines. That's gonna take some work to equalize.
Mr. Tittles
I would assume that they are going to patch CMAK first, release it, and then see about patching whatever in CMBB.
Runyan99
I guess BFC stated that they are not going to patch this. The good news is that it does not seem to affect operations - my preferred method of play in any case. I'm thinking about it again now because I just started an operation where I have a good number of trenches and such on my side. I did a quick test run through the operation by controlling both sides and calling ceasefires. At the end of the battle, there were no casualty points for either side, so I guess the defender wasn't penalized for the fortifications.
