Guest Madmatt
Things around here have gotten weird, no doubt about it. But this forum has always shown the fortitude and resilantcy to bounce back and I am confident it will again. I hope I can help that return to normality somewhat by the release of MDMP-2: The Return of the King. It's been a long wait, but we feel it's been worth it. By the way, we are already looking at what to include in MDMP-3!!! Madmatt ------------------ If it's in Combat Mission, it's on Combat Mission HQ! aka_tom_w
Wow fanatastic new textures... Works great and Macs now TOO! thanks to all -tom w ------------------ <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR> "Following are opinions (very abridged because of the size of this post) of members of the 66th and 67th Armored Regiments and 2nd Armored Division: The consensus of opinion of all personnel in the 66th Armored Regiment is that the German tank and anti-tank weapons are far superior to the American in the following categories. Superior Flotation. Greater mobility. This is directly contrary to the popular opinion that the heavy tank is slow and cumbersome. The German guns have a much higher muzzle velocity and no telltale flash. The resulting flat trajectory gives great penetration and is very accurate. The 90-mm, although an improvement, is not as good as either the 75 or 88. If HVAP ammunition becomes available, it will improve the performance of both the 76-mm and 90-mm guns. German tank sights are definitely superior to American sights. These, combined with the flat trajectory of the guns, give great accuracy. German tanks have better sloped armor and a better silhouette than the American tanks. The M24 tank has not been available long, but has created a very favorable impression. The M4 has been proven inferior to the German Mark VI in Africa before the invasion of Sicily, 10 July 1943. " -Brigadier General J. H. Geier
I believe there is a phrase I read about that would be rather apt here, I believe it is used over in that territory you call home... let's see, must get the pronounciation right, I hope shouting is alright. Ok here goes: YOU DA MAN! Came out rather well I thought. I'll be over in the Cesspool if you need anything. Von Fauster
Looks great! Thankyouthankyouthankyou. Also, for the other novices out there (meaning me and others like me), I found a quick way to make CM look even better: check you color settings- paticularly the gamma settings. Mine was hanging around at 1.0 and I bumped it up to 1.31. Made a big difference. Thanks again Madmatt.
ianc
Madmatt, Thanks for posting MDMP-2 and for taking the time to enrich the CM community! I have one small suggestion, if I may: With so many glorious user mods now available, a very helpful feature to include in such a large offering as this might be a list of files and the actual vehicles\features they represent. eg. I just downloaded Tiger's great hi-res Tiger I yesterday and haven't even seen it yet, but now I run the risk of overwriting it with Kwazydog's fabulous version! Just a suggestion if you have time in future. Thanks again for taking the time out of your day to make this a better game for all! Take care, ianc
Guest Madmatt
Um, Ian? The MDMP-2 contains a Doc file which DOES list all the units included. My newest submission rewquirements also ask for full documentation with any mod. Madmatt ------------------ If it's in Combat Mission, it's on Combat Mission HQ! ianc
Hi Madmatt, I know you included all the mods, but actually I was thinking more on the lines of something like this: 13390-13398.bmp - Winter Tiger I 13430-13437.bmp - Winter M3 HT 14330-14334.bmp - More winter M3 14480.bmp - More winter M3? 15015-15019.bmp - Winter Uniform 15021-15061.bmp - More uniforms? 3100-3109.bmp - Ambush Mk. IV 3270-3279.bmp - Stug. III G\H 3340-3346.bmp - Jagdtiger 3390-3398.bmp - Tiger I (Kwazydog Hi-Res) 4570-4573.bmp - Maybe more Mk IV? 4600-4601.bmp - More Stug III? 536.bmp - Tree 800-819.bmp - Winter grass, ungridded 850-855.bmp - Partial winter grass? jim crowley
Madmatt and all, Once again, congrats on fine work. Jagdtiger is simply awesome. One possible fly in the ointment (maybe two)! On the winterised Tiger, a small portion of the drivers lower body is visible between the track-guard and the treads. Also the IVg is (in the info box) described as "has skirts", but the graphic obviously hasn't. cheers Jim
