PTHoorah
Returning to this game after nearly 20 years. Played Beyond Overlord ans the Russian Front expansion - liked the former better. There are so many versions of this game on the web site. What is recommended version to buy? Seems like so many options. Thanks.
Vacillator
As a late arrival, I bought RT (East Front is my usual thing), then BN bundle (which is great) and then FI (which is also great). I'm still just scratching the surface of all of them, but am considering FB as a Christmas bonus, plus of course the upcoming RT Fire and Rubble module is a definite. If you liked CMBO why not start with the BN bundle? And then move on to the others . And welcome (back)! Anonymous_Jonze
You liked the previous incarnation of Battlefront's Normandy game, so I'd get Battle For Normandy. Most amount of content especially with the modules. You get a diverse nation selection, battlefield and weapon systems. There's also an extensive amount of mods and scenarios for it.
chuckdyke
Battle for Normandy Bundle and Final Blitzkrieg. Since I bought Shock Force 2 I have not touched the others. I am 70 and retired with 10 years active service which ended forty years ago. WW 2 was familiar but modern equipment took some adjustment. Modern armor travels fast terrain permitting firing on the move, the WW 2 Bazooka and Panzerschreck have evolved AT guns are obsolete even the recoilless guns which were still state of the art during the cold war. The Centurion and the M60 were tanks the allies wished for during WW2. In 1972 they became obsolete overnight with the introduction of the Sagger.
Vacillator
Or you can try the demos before buying, although they're the not the latest game engine, but I tried the RT demo and immediately bought the game and later tried the BN demo and immediately bought that. Both demos were unforgettable for me (I can still remember every moment) so what more can I say?
Freyberg
I've had the most fun with CMFI bundle and SF2 bundle... EDIT: who am I kidding...? They're all wonderful. I've played CMFB and CFBS less than the others (due to lack of Commonwealth forces and sheer difficulty, respectively), but I've had hours of fun with all of them. StieliAlpha
Reading your history, I‘d say BN. Only BN, in a bundle or all content depends on how much you want to spent. Though the big bundle certainly is a good deal. And as @Vacilllator says, trying the demos first is highly recommend. I am not quite sure, to which version they have been updated, but I think that does not really matter for a start. You‘ll get a good impression anyway. Just don‘t be disappointed by the graphics of the demos. That can be fixed with mods in the full games.
PTHoorah
Thanks, everyone, for the responses and advice. I’ll go with BN and go from there.
Sgt.Squarehead
If you can afford the bundle, do it.....The chances are that you will buy it all anyway, eventually. So why not just save yourself the time & money?
