Lanzfeld Posted January 12, 2013 Share Posted January 12, 2013 Bought an M1 carbine today. 1944 Underwood with a Quality receiver. I can't believe how much I love this little gun. It just snuck up on me. I also grabbed an aftermarket paratrooper stock for fun. Next week I get my CMP Springfield M1 Garand. Got to get it all while the gettin' is good. IIRC part of it is IBM or some other company. And yes, it is a VERY fun gun to shoot. My wife likes it a lot too because the kick isn't so bad. IBM/Underwood, Quality/Underwood.....that is the great thing about the carbines. They mixed and matched and it made them perfect! ...and to tie this in with CMBN, I really zoom down into my troops when I see one using the carbine. I just want to see it in action! Hehe. Georgie Posted January 13, 2013 Share Posted January 13, 2013 I've got a Garand from CMP and it is in very good condition. I am by no means a marksman but have had some experience, just a little, about the same as you would expect a green trooper to have, and I was able to put 5 out of 8 rounds into an 8" paper plate target off hand at 100 yds .
