  1. Entire campaign is almost done. I was hoping to wrap up the final briefings tonight but got called into my side job so might have to wait till the weekend. - FF
  2. You're not disturbing anything bro, but sounds good. I will message you back. Thank you very much! Coming from an experienced scenario designer and map maker, that's a huge compliment. I will be the first to admit, I tend to get myself stuck because I over-complicate things or have trouble looking at a concept from a different perspective to see what needs to be done to make it work. That being said, the second pair of experienced eyes that you provided was extremely helpful and got things moving in the right direction again. Thank you! I think map-making is also one of my strengths. I will give my career credit for that. I owned and operated an excavation company for a few years and got really good at mapping and design thanks to custom "design-build" earthwork projects I did for some of my clients in the mountains where I live. Combat Mission map making is one of the rare times my career, interests, and hobbies all kind of came together. Thanks for the breakdown! I appreciate you letting me know how it played out. Do you think I need to make it more clear that the player should recapture the terrain objectives in the briefing? I made an educated guess about where a Blue player would attempt to enter the airport with their reinforcements... I'm happy to hear I was correct Fun fact: The ATGM teams "land" at the beginning of the scenario with the first wave of VDV forces and get into position over the course of the scenario. I didn't "cheat" and have them appear there at any particular time. Thank you again. I'm really really happy you enjoyed it. It took a lot of work to get that scenario how I wanted it. I don't want to give TOO much away, but I think your hopes for the campaign might come true. If you're familiar with the real life Battle Of Hostomel, you've likely seen the photos of some unfortunate VDV fellows who met their untimely demise during an ambush in Hostomel. You may get an opportunity to recreate that, assuming you don't lose too many guys in the scenarios leading up to it.
  3. I appreciate that! I may have one final request. Let me get home from work and I'll message you directly. You are the man. Which flavor objects are you asking for? He made me a custom radio tower and 12 garage doors. I posted the garage doors in a post specifically for them, but I can send you those in a link if you'd like! As far as Lucky goes, I am not sure what happened to him, my friend. I've been a little worried about him as well. Haven't heard from him since a few days before Christmas and I know he had some personal stuff going on. I may see if I can find a way to get ahold of him using the information I know about him just to make sure he's ok.
  4. YESSS. I'm glad you're enjoying it! That makes all the time I've spent working on this worth it. I spent a lot of time on that scenario making sure it was as accurate as I could make it and but still fun to play. I actually have a Ukrainian pen pal who I found while doing research for the campaign who helped me out with the actual chain of events in the battle for Hostomel and did some face time videos with me showing me around Hostomel after she returned to town the first time in May/June. She left again after Russia started bombing the power grid heavy in the late summer and she's living in Germany now, but she Her house is a Landmark in the Hostomel map. Lol As far as equipment goes, it doesn't get much better in the rest of the scenario, but you are correct about it being historical. Personally, I think the battles for Hostomel, Irpin, and Bucha are really impressive because of the equipment and training disparity between the Ukrainians and the Russians, so I did my best to model that accurately. Not sure how much you know about it, but Hostomel airport and the three towns I mentioned above were basically defended by civilian volunteers with a small number of special forces and national guard leading them and calling in supporting fires. The fact that armed civilians decimated the "elite" 31st Air Assault Brigade and managed to stop the Russians from capturing Kyiv in the first week was is really impressive in my book, so I made a campaign that focuses heavily on that. I agree, it is weird there aren't more scenarios about Modern Ukraine given the current circumstances, but it seems like most of the people who play CM and make scenarios are all long term players of the game who prefer WW2 titles, whereas I found these games BECAUSE of the current war in Ukraine. My thinking is that the game is pretty niche, and most of the people who would have played it already have and burnt out due to the lack of meaningful improvements from the game creators. that's just my opinion though.
  5. Lolol sorry man! I'm going to be releasing the campaign here soon! Thanks man! I'm glad you appreciate the amount of time that went into it. I sincerely appreciated the flavor objects you spent time making, so of course I used them in my maps! As a matter of fact, I used all of the civilian vehicles you made in your CMBS flavor objects pack and several of the wrecked military vehicles too. I changed the colors of two of the civilian vehicles for a little bit of variety, but otherwise, you and @Lucky_Strikeboth contributed a lot to the maps with the flavor objects you helped me with. I'll share a video of each of the maps with you when it's all done.
  6. Thank you very much man! I'm glad you enjoyed it so far. How are you doing thirty minutes in? Anything you noticed that needs work? I sincerely appreciate you playing. Also, if you like that map, I have a feeling you'll really like the rest of the maps coming with the campaign. I have a full scale map of downtown Hostomel, as well as two smaller towns near the airport, and thanks to @CombatintmanI am fairly confident I will be able to make the scenarios work properly for the campaign as well.
  7. After consulting with @Combatintmanabout my campaign, I have several revisions I am making. I hope to have the bulk of them completed this week. That being said, I have decided to release what was originally going to be the first mission of the campaign as a standalone scenario. You can download it below. It is currently only available for Blue vs AI or (maybe?) head to head, though I will likely add a blue AI plan later. Please give me any feedback you may have so I can make improvements where they are necessary. I highly recommend downloading the Antonov Airport Campaign Mods.brz before playing, as it has dozens of custom flavor objects, unit mods, and even a vehicle mod that are all mod tagged and will be used in the campaign. Thanks again for all your patience! TheFriendlyFelon https://1drv.ms/u/s!As9rnkvqZG0viIYgNA5Nn6j5rk1fCw?e=W0HYuw
  8. Im going to attempt to make them all playable as either side vs AI as standalone scenarios, but the primary goal is still a full campaign played as Blue vs AI
  9. Sneak peak of another map from this theoretical campaign. Downtown Hostomel, in all it's glory. I may just end up releasing all the maps as standalone scenarios soon. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to help. And thank you guys for your patience.
  10. I'm burnt out working on my campaign for CMBS and feel like doing something different. Would anyone be interested in playing a scenario or campaign based on the first battle of the La Drang valley (LZ XRay)? For anyone not familiar with the name, it's the battle the movie We Were Soldiers was based on. If so, I may start that as a side project. I just don't like making scenarios if I'm the only one playing them.
  11. Yes I have. That thing is a extremely helpful for sure. I think my problem is understanding how to use the different objective types to simulate the scenarios Im trying to create. I DM'ed you what I've got, including the maps. Hopefully you can make some sense of it. I have definitely been using this! Honestly, you are a lifesaver for creating it.
  12. Interesting. I ended up using a territory objective the same way so the first Russian paratroopers trigger it on the very first turn, but the friendly bonus method may work better. TBH I'm really burnt out on trying to make this work and might just release the maps and missions I have done in one big clump and give up on the campaign. I've put an awful lot of my time into it to just throw it all away but I'm over it at this point.
  13. What exactly does the friendly bonus parameter mean/do? I've never actually understood that one.
  14. I dont mind at all and based off what I know about Lucky Strike, he'll probably be happy they're finding use too. Ill let him speak for himself, but I know I'm happy you could use them! This is what I need too! Definitely feel free to send them back my way with your revisions if you'd like. Good work!
  15. @RockinHarry... I like your signature. I forgot to say that in my previous reply. Slava Ukraini indeed.
  16. All Kudos for these goes to @Lucky_Strike! I only came up with the idea, he is the man that made them a reality in such spectacular fashion. I do agree with everything else you said though! I'm continuously impressed by the work that everyone has put into learning how to mod and create new things for guys like me to use.
  17. Already posted this in the general mods/maps forum, but figured I'd include these here as well. "Map creators/scenario designers... Have you ever been trying to make a map of an urban area and run into a building or buildings that have garage doors on them and had trouble deciding how to make the building look right? If not, I envy you. I definitely had that issue while creating my maps for Hostomel and Antonov Airport in Ukraine for an upcoming campaign I'm planning to release, and it was driving me nuts. Since I knew asking Battlefront for things accomplishes absolutely nothing, I got in touch with my man @Lucky Strikeand asked him for some help turning the "poster" flavor objects into a garage door or two for my maps since the poster flavor objects are basically worthless. Being the nice guy he is, he agreed to help, and then proceeded to turn my request for "1 or 2" doors into 12 beautiful garage door flavor objects in various sizes ranging from "backyard storage shed" all the way up to "aircraft hangar". They're pretty epic. After obtaining his permission, I created a PDF document showing what each of them looks like and highlighting the "sweet spot" where you click each of them to rotate it, move it, delete it, etc. You can find both at the link below, or attached to this post (maybe?) along with the PDF showing the doors. I also included some screenshots from my Antonov Airport map showing some of the garage doors in use. **NOTE**These doors are significantly easier to place than the posters were. They DO have a front and a back side, which can be identified by looking at the top of each door. One side of them will be textured, and the back side of each door will have an invisible part you can see through. The invisible side faces the building. I have found if you get them lined up in front of the building where you want them, then "nudge" them towards the building, they will sometimes latch themselves to the side of the building. If not, Lucky Strike made them thick enough that you can get them close and it still looks great. Also, you will need a mod to create more flavor object buttons. I included that as well."https://1drv.ms/u/s!As9rnkvqZG0viIZ83msyyUnH3kEhgg?e=NMMz63

  19. AI first, then I'm down to go H2H. Problem is I haven't figured out a good way to balance it for H2H so one player could cease fire and win immediately, but if we are playing just to play, that shouldn't be a problem. Check your DM's momentarily. I'll send you over the battle and the mod pack you need so eveything shows up correctly on the map and all the vehicles and units look correct. Almost all the unit and vehicle mods are mod tagged so they won't affect any of your other maps and units. Lots of new custom flavor objects added to the original lineup as well. I'll include a PDF of all the new ones.
  20. I could use another playtester if you are interested in helping still.
  21. @Simcoe Yeah, I'm actually finishing up a map of the actual town of Hostomel right now. If you want, I can send you the first battle at the airport for playtesting. I had @Artkinplay test it and he gave some valuable input and I made necessary corrections. I think that one is ready for another playtest.
  22. Bro, this is freaking awesome. @Artkin was kind enough to share this post with me in a message, and I'm very glad he did. But like him, I am also clueless when it comes to code, so it looks like I will need to watch the tutorial. I do have a basic understanding of Lidar data, as I've used it for work once or twice, but I can't remember how I even did that. Thanks for making this man. This is sick.
  23. BRO, you're killing it. Good job!!!! I love having a variety of civilian vehicles to use in CMBS and being able to put wrecks in game. I'll have a really extensive video showing you everything I used your flavor objects for soon! I wouldn't mind some dead VDV bois to place in the game if you can get around to it. Honestly, just burnt up unidentifiable bodies would work too.
