  1. Agreed. I'd rather have historical, like CMRT Barbarossa but I realise I may be in a diminishing client base in that respect.
  2. I've had that on at least two Panthers in recent games. One on a road under artillery fire so just one of those things. The other in a forest with no LOS in and a single round arrived, that was more .
  3. Ah, the Commonwealth. Ian will appreciate that I'm sure .
  4. As I expected (although your nice pic has a lot of gaps in the bocage ), but why then would my Pershing shy away from the 'fence' aka low bocage? And drive slowly for a long way with its side exposed. Duh, as Billie Eilish would say.
  5. Just wanted to say that BFC are not Matrix/Slitherine and vice versa. From memory BFC decided not to release the Black Sea module in the current circumstances, and publisher Matrix/Slitherine agreed with them. If Matrix/Slitherine proceed with other 'similar' titles, that's nothing to do with BFC.
  6. If you find low bocage in the CMFB manual I'd be interested. I couldn't.
  7. Hi Wim, good to hear from you. I hadn't realised bocage appeared in every WW2 title. I live and learn. I was recently tasked with placing a few 'gates' in a bocage-heavy map so I know exactly what you mean.
  8. Thanks Ian. In my mind I thought I'd done that, but I suppose I might have been a bit sloppy about it. Minus 1 Pershing is the result. Such is war...
  9. I'm playing a second PBEM of CMFB Pershing versus Tiger, this time against @cbennett88. One of my Pershings decided to take a long scenic excursion sideways on to the enemy, after I'd asked it to go through what I thought was a hedge. It paid the price of stupidity (mine or theirs I don't know). I don't recall this happening in my first PBEM. Jokingly I suggested to my worthy opponent Chris that perhaps some 'low bocage' had made it's way from Normandy. Loading up the editor however, I see that it is indeed low bocage. Which got me looking for descriptions in the CM manuals (and on the forum) of what bocage (low or normal) is capable of blocking and what it might not block. I can't find anything. Can anyone point me in the right direction please? I've put this in General Discussion as it applies to CMBN and CMFB...
  10. Good decision and welcome. I just tried the editor and QB and found Heavy armored car PSW single vehicle options for German Army and Waffen SS under the Armored Infantry category, not Armor. For later dates I seemed to get more options, and possibly location might affect that as well. If that doesn't work for you let us know.
  11. As mentioned elsewhere, having never played a battle in any modern title, I accepted a challenge from our good friend @Ultradave to play 'Czechmate' with me as Soviets. To encourage me () he said this was pretty much what he trained for in RL. Great way to start, right? It's a very nice map and I'm starting to enjoy it but having initially lost several vehicles to TOWs from invisible launchers I'm being a bit more cautious and beginning to get spots on some of his units. Not knowing much about modern weapons is a concern, as is my lack of long range AT assets at the current stage of the game - I have (sorry had) 4 T62s (now 3) but nothing else with range. That will change when the main force arrives. None if this will come as a surprise to Dave so I'm not giving away much intel. Overall, I think if I view the exercise as a lesson from the master I will hopefully not be too disappointed when I lose...
  12. Sounds like something is missing, or more likely has installed in the wrong place. @BFCElvis will get you sorted, but I imagine he might recommend using a different extraction tool for the installer - which one did you use?
  13. As one of those people, I have our game plus another 4 going (ours FI, 2 FBs, 1 BN and 1 CW). As a 'modern virgin' the last is rather scary. I normally have one or two RTs going but not at the moment.
  14. I read it the same. No need for any more personal 'digs' but I am ever the optimist.
  15. Ha, I thought of tagging you in as well Dave .
  16. Hi, you need the 'wonder of the world' that is @BFCElvis. He'll be along shortly I'm sure...
  17. Just an aside, but they can make for some pretty tough defenders - I had them in a PBEM of 'A Muddy Affair' and they were absolutely badass. Aside over...
  18. Don't think anything's changed but CMBN has always been a bit different to the others as far as folder locations. @BFCElvis will be able to get you sorted I'm sure.
  19. I was the same until very recently. I'm now having my baptism of fire in a Cold War PBEM. My performance so far could be described as ...
  20. So far in the game we're playing I have no artillery. At all. I have some tanks (now minus one) which could shell, but they would likely die first. So I'm going for your observation based approach for now, and with hindsight perhaps I could have done more earlier...
