  1. The manual could be a little clearer of how everything works. I call them the evade buttons.
  2. There was a security alert, there was one before at the CM side too, once you logged on it went away. Don't take it personal.
  3. The world is full of Gettysburgs, the Russians went for Berlin and postwar superpower status. 25 years before that they were a basket case. The Germans had men all over the place example Norway just one of it. They all became irrelevant on VE-Day. Going to the game I always make my situation map. Orientation Compas is one of my peeves, point the needle in the right direction.
  4. Is the pillbox your objective or an obstacle? Example Gettysburg. Did Lee have to attack the Union Army at Gettysburg? He could have attacked Washington and made the Union army waiting for him irrelevant. The Germans had 300000 men in Norway during WW2. Completely irrelevant the lack of oil cost them the war not the Iron Ore from Sweden. The allies attacked Germany instead. Look what the MG in the pillbox can do bypassing could be a viable option.
  5. Thanks, I will copy and paste what you wrote about placing forests and trees to another member. Thanks for your attention.
  6. That means jumping from 2D to 3D and back to 2D if I am correct. Kudos for your patience. 3D is for the testing and 2D for the editing. Nice if you could record the 3D testing like when we replay a turn in WeGo, once you press stop it is saved in the 2D editor. An easy way out is when the Tiger is deemed to be camouflaged and only gives his position away once he fires or moves. Spotting this position from 1km away in hazy conditions with the naked eye is a little unrealistic.
  7. Thank you, it would be like my Photo editing program. You do the testing and adjusting frequently but like a video you could record it. Next time you do some project which is similar all you have to do is apply your previous recorded action. I am afraid possibly it takes an upgraded engine to do it properly. Like record it on your 3D map and enter your recording in the 2D editor. That means editing straight in your 3D map. Kind regards.
  8. I can't agree more, and I must say I know next to nothing about editing. I don't know what is achievable in macro managing. Can you make a 'hide' for an AFV in the editor and have him move to a hull-down once the enemy armor is closing in? Here the scouts are 'peeling the orange' so to speak. In my Photo editor you have a 'Macro' in which you can record an action. If you had that in the editor the Tiger could move in 'Hull Down' as a trigger.
  9. I don't have BS or CW but those troop have a blast command? I experienced something like that with a house in FB. They ran around the house to use the front door. That time I didn't give them a blast command because they were standing in front of a door.
  10. I found they are most effective after all hell breaks loose around them. If the AI spots them they are history. I don't notice any difference between a WW2 Sniper or the NATO counterpart in SF2. Shadows don't play a part in CM, but one tactic is finding a shade and shoot through a different shade like on the edge of the forest. My best result was a Sniper in front of a Leo2 Tank the AFV masked his activities beautifully.
  11. I am impressed with the research of the author of Mountains of the Moon. Indeed, the Valentine didn't have a co-axial machinegun. Found an interesting article about this AFV in Soviet service. Valentine IX: A Tank Destroyer with Claws (thedailybounce.net)
  12. I like to see them smoking 'Roll Your Own Cigarettes'. They used newspapers to roll their tobacco in. That was when smoking relieved your stress and was not bad for your health.
  13. I agree and some have glitches and bugs. Road to Nijmegen and Knock Them All Down Bridges and Doors. Some minor issues like blowing gaps in Bocage but not able to go through.
  14. @Ts4EVER I suppose so by 1944 I have not seen many photographs of it. Thanks for replying.
  15. I can't do anything without it. If you have highlighted a waypoint, you press P a few times. Now the vehicle you want to pause was on hunt stopped to shoot the enemy to pieces. You revise your plans at the next turn. You need to push the green button to cancel the timed pause.
  16. First project is making a 'Test Map'. Using somebody else's map. First rename it so you don't lose the original. Try to contact the author with an expression of appreciation. I like to thank all the map makers who have giving me years of fun because of their talent. Going back to 'Quick Battles' just make a map for H&H only?
  17. Some people look inside a dictionary for definitions. Here we look at the game manual which is fair enough. Lots of people stop reading it once they understand to play the game. Attack, little or no intel at the onset, assault when you have the intel to destroy enemy units. I never look at the ratio trust the intelligence in the briefing. Like suspected enemy strength a company with support for example.
  18. Scenarios, I first look at the map and as long as I can maneuver, I will play it.
  19. Works only during the 'Replay Phase' you know the situational awareness of each unit. The Valentine sees nothing, the Infantry a lot more.
  20. The reason I play on Iron is spotting. Turn is finished and before you press the 'Big Red Button' you can see exactly who is in contact with his HQ. A stand for Administration and Communication. last two letters of SMEAC. Something I take serious in this game. One thing I like about the US their system of abbreviations. Makes it easy to formulate actions.
  21. It seems that in the game the Valentine doesn't have a 7.92 mm Besa Machine Gun. I actually like the tank in the present battle. Mountains of the Moon. Use it as an Infantry tank capture the ground which was softened up by artillery later followed by infantry once the barrage is lifted. To let the Soviets, use the C2 the radios on the Valentines are invaluable. They got rid of the German MG (MG34?) It is minor but I thought the MG 34 was used on AFV's at that stage of the war. In view of changing the barrel it was better than an MG 42 for AFV's.
  22. It is 23:00 in Oz time to sleep gentlemen. Thanks for your attention and contributions.
  23. They have a quick guide on Steam to get you started. What do you think of it? Steam Community :: Guide :: Basic Guide for Command Ops 2
  24. Yes the game is on their website Lock 'n Load Publishing (lnlpublishing.com)
  25. Thanks for that I bookmarked it. Hope you guys will be OK in Melbourne.
