The french version 1940 of the R35 is finished (it's never actually over😭 ). No it wasn't me who did it, it's a friend...

2 versions, with or without Aris mods. My friend tells me to tell you that the turret also exists in 2 versions, with or without the ace of spades. It could be better but it's better than nothing ... he said, my friend, not me. I told my friend that Kohlenklau, the master of Blender, will certainly do another one much better, the starting level to do better being very low (if you have small children they will do better).

Caramba ! il est fort !!

    very nice

  2. i agree with JM
we will have to make a Napoleonic mod with the song of the onion
I would have imagined more than that

    or in this

this song although it is old 1938 and in the top of my 10 favorite song
for the story during the debacle in 1940 she sing in loop on the radio
when you understand the words you understand all the irony of the situation

    quelle beau casque @JM Stuff

what a wonderful mod with beautiful apple green double badge helmet @Damian45

For info that is JuJu's UI mod and not the game/patch files. The mod needs to be updated but nothing functionally in the menu will stop working. I'll get around to that task at some point. No ETA. If you can't wait that long just go into the mod files and delete the main menu images and the game will go back to the default base game main menu.

Interesting. :) Very low numbers, not to mention trying to get those weapons on the Eastern and Italian fronts as well. Is there a citing/reference for this text?

There was a time when there was a long discussion here in France about whether the g43 was present in the Battle of Normandy. Many have wondered about the fact that no photo showed it then, but since one was found.
I have had the unfortunate habit of collecting battlefield relics since childhood and have had the opportunity to see nearly a dozen battlefield G43s both in working order and in dig out .
the one I am presenting I found it myself 50m from the house at the time, in my commune of Coudhard in the pocket of the Falaise, the rear protruded from the embankment, when pulling it out a bayonet also came out!
we notice that it has a rail to fix the bezel.
I've seen fewer G41s from the battlefield 5 or 6 , I also have a badly damaged one found in the Tractable combat area
the peasant had dug it up with the share of his plow and had thrown it into a heap of brambles

What is happening across the channel? Any interest from forumites in Great Britain to do a [bef1940] mod? I will help and advise and put in time.

paradoxically I am much more comfortable with the British uniform than French
    for a BEF
you only need mk 2 helmet, the flat helmet
    Enfield n3 MKI
no individual tool, the flat shovel is rare in 1940 and that of ww1 will not be reintroduced until after the campaign of France.
battledress pat 37 without visible button
    metallic title in shoulder
and especially the gas mask with the case that is worn on the chest
I do everything except that you need Blender skill: the gaz mask pouch

  5. haha...
I hadn't followed this post just to keep the suspense...
    what happened !
I did not expect an attack from this side
typical example of the guy who does not read the briefing carefully
I wanted to use the artillery to counter the attack (200 points) rather than using the TRP to destroy the convoy (1000 points) result the wireless operator is dead before I hit and the artillery will not fall

the car invisible thanks to the camouflage is still in good condition.
I wonder if I shouldn't use it to escape

Steph @Falaise I will put a link from  goumiers helmets CMFI available in my signature, for a short time and for some interrested.

I guess this have nothing to do with the France 1940 mod isn't ?

I don't think the goumiers were already wearing this helmet with crescent shape on the beginning of the war?

But I can be wrong !!

    Great @JM Stuff
Helmets whith crescents are only worn on french helmets and have been since WW1 so a [france 1940] tag is a good idea
Not only Moroccans wear them, Algerians the Zouaves and a good part of the African army too. It seems to me that the Senegalese wear the insignia of the current colonial marine infantry.
American helmets (these are not English helmets but early war American helmets) do not have insignia

  7. ha ha 😃
Here I am sergeant on the Seine commanding an infantry very close to historical reality "mais pas si vite !" cult replica of an equally cult film on the bravery of the French army of 40.
Abandoned I go up in rank and here I am lieutenant on the Loire offering my youth to the supreme sacrifice like the Cadets of Saumur
    "Mort pour la  France"

    great mod bravo !

  8. interesting testimony @Warts 'n' all

I have something a bit similar
My mother was 5 years old in 1944 and she remembers that in August 44 of a curious event.
She was liberated by the Poles and then the Canadians replaced them during the battle. Once it was over, she remembers an incident between Canadians and British (the 53rd Welch was in the area) the Canadians blaming the British for arriving after the battle.
The officers feeling the spirits warming up propose a "contest" where each demonstrates their mastery in the conduct of BrenCarriers by climbing piles of wood
A vehicle turns over, there are wounded, perhaps dead and there everything changes shots burst on both sides it takes all the coolness of the officers to resume the situation under the bewildered gaze of the French civilians

It is possible that the incident took place between French-speaking and English-speaking Canadians, although her mother evokes Canadians and British, ones speaking French therefore Canadian and the others English therefore British, she was only 5 years old .

  9. Salut phil

The French army of 1940 just like the one that existed until 1990 is an army of conscripts (I was myself in the 51st regiment de transmission)
military service was compulsory and all defense concept rested on this conscription.
In 1940 the notion of elite troop was reserved for the "Chasseurs", of the Foreign Legion La Coloniale and to a certain extent every the " Regiment d'Afrique")
infantry regiments were supposed to be all of the same level
I think the Italians with their rigidity most resemble what the French units has been
the blue and conscript level seems ideal to me with an occasional "regular"
officers have a level of zero to -2
