Let's remember that the Soviets were rolling up the front very quickly in the final weeks of the war.  Just because they captured something doesn't mean it was in battle.  The Sturmtiger was so heavy and logistically difficult to move, I think it's more likely that if one were captured before the war ended that it was abandoned and not actively fighting.

My point is, someone advocating for inclusion of a rare vehicle (this one or any other one) has to prove two things:

    1.  That it was present on a particular front during a particular timeframe

    2.  That it engaged in combat

Proving #1 without #2 is pointless.  If #1 was all that was needed then we should include the Maus :D

    someone say Maus???? LOL

Mmmm intriguing, I cannot believe hanging on to hear about the release of F&R is about to be replaced with hanging on for some info on CM3 😀.

P.S. if it anything like the change from CM1 -> CM2 it is going to be mind blowing!!

I don't even understand the term CM3 As I see it. There won't be a CM3 just an upgrade of the current engine etc. Which is good. I've never even seen a official mention of it

I did a quick poke into our Base Game only sales and CMBN towers above all, CMSF1 is not too far behind.  The next three slots are pretty closely grouped by CMFI, CMBS, and CMRT (in that order).  This is interesting because CMRT has been out the longest and CMBS is the shortest, with CMFI right in the middle.  If I adjusted a bit for similar sales periods the rankings might be closer to CMBS, CMFI, and CMRT.

CMFB follows CMRT reasonably closely even though it has been for sale significantly less time.  Even though CMSF2 is our most recent game it's up there with CMBS (released 4 years earlier) with CMSF1 Upgrades factored in, closer to CMFB (released 2 years earlier) without.  CMA is not surprisingly last on the list.

The conclusion from this is what we'd expect.  Normandy is top dog by a huge margin and pretty clearly Modern is the next most popular topic.  Red Thunder does good, solid sales... but it isn't the game that's keeping our lights on.

thats interesting insight, thanks for sharing, do you think its related to the subject matter it covers or the amount of extra content for the title?

Link to a fixed version of the JPzIV 70 V (early) >>>        Fixed model download mediafire 652kb

This is the model file found in the 2.03 patch, I just fixed the texture names inside the .mdr. Only the main lod (highest level of detail) included.

Also the JPzIV early had the same problem its mudguards, so fixed that too.

what does one do with the mdr file? lol newb

Well, that's not even remotely fair, though it doesn't surprise me as the chip on your shoulder is a well known fixture on this Forum.

You might have been expecting the game's release was "near" years ago, but we didn't say it was.  Especially because for most of that time we hadn't even started on it.  That said, we did think we'd have it out sometime last year.  But Red Thunder turned out to be a lot more work than any of us thought it would.  Mostly because we kept adding things, which in a way is a good thing.  More for your money, even though you had to wait longer.

Customers always think that we know exactly when something is going to be done and therefore can gauge the release date.  This flawed logic makes people think that if we aren't constantly updating people it's because we're withholding information.  The fact is we keep release times fluid until the last minute because we don't know how long something will take until it's done.  CMSF2, a revamping of something we already made, took about a year longer than we expected.  Cold War took about a year less.  If you had asked me before we started either game I would have thought it would be the other way around.

So where are we with Fire & Rubble's state of development?  As MikeyD said, currently it is classified as Beta.  Which means absolutely nothing as it's just a label.  Every developer has its own way of doing things, but in our experience the next stage (Final Candidate) and the last stage (Release Candidate) takes between 2-4 weeks in total.  Based on this morning's examination of the remaining ToDo List items... I think we're at the point of Final Candidate.  I don't know how much more time is needed from there to release, however being very conservative about moving into release mode means we aren't likely to get tripped up by anything time sucking at this point.

A quick note about firm release dates with Slitherine.  They operate a traditional publishing model and that requires a fixed amount of time to promote ahead of a fixed release date.  That's not the way we like to do things ourselves, which is why we don't have a traditional publishing model.

Don't change your ways, lol I mean hell yeah I guess we'd all like a title / add on quicker. But I love the way you guys have stuck with these titles offering us upgrades. Fantastic way to keep game fresh and playable 💪

Yep. I did a bit of experimenting with that, but never finished or released it. Mainly because using these mods leads to a string of new problems:
If they are flavor objects then they do not provide cover - and cant burn.
If they are used as destroyed and/or burning units, they do provide cover, but then the "live" units of the same type will look damaged too.

Perhaps I´ll give them another try some day.

That's really cool umlaut. Great try. But I was thinking more of a active transfer, like once the unit is hit. And only when it brews up, it could change the skin to show blackening around the hatches and entry hole of the hit. Would be really nice affect if able to be done.

  7. with recently purchasing CMFB, its awesome and nice to see the winter textures for the tanks again..since CMX1 days, I have been with the series the whole time and remember when the flaming vehicles did not extinguish...I do like that they do extinguish themselves after a allotted time but I feel adding a burnt out skin would add so much to the immersion and atmosphere to the game....

is this possible for future improvements? is it as easy as say winter textures?

@BFCElvis would be interested to hear the teams thoughts, has anyone thought of this before????
