While I'm not sure about this, I was recently accused of being a Nazi when I told someone I tend to play as the Germans.  Wow!

yes, its that type of behaviour I'm on about..just beyond me..ANYHOW. lol

Not trying to, just saying lol... all in all this is great forum here. and yeah your right, but is also why I added the slogan of "baddies" the aim being to highlight the poor outlook for anyone playing as the axis forces is all..

Am not sure why, but now it seems that gamers don't want to play the Axis side and of course early war is the most "fun" for the Axis..

Because most modern young war gamers aren't educated. and thus, believe anyone who play's axis. are Nazi's and are baddies... seriously..lol beyond stupid.. even had someone quote a percentage like, wha???? NO! go play with a stick!.

  3. personally, I'd be like hell yeah and would buy anything they'd release. but i just don't see it happening. it'd be like a smaller Afghanistan title (by way of content etc) altho, were truly some historical battles etc.

I would say doing an early war "set" of games and modules would be far more lucrative.

    You make me blush sir.

But yes GWX is a beautiful thing.  The funny thing (to me at least) was that I went looking for an SH3 mod to correct certain graphic anomalies (you know, the PC ones), and ended up with Grey Wolves (before X IIRC).  Beautiful.   How lucky was that?

yes it is a wonderful thing that anyone should experience,

have you actually survived the war yet??? now, there's a question...lol

currently trying to find an issue with the widescreen mod/fix, my torpedo salvo numbers are gone on the TDC, sad face.

100% agree. I would like to have a vehicle pack for RT. There are a lot of vehicles and tanks that can be added to the game. By soviet side we could get  KV1-S, KV85 and maybe some earliest KV models still in service ( same with first T-34 versions survivors and deployed with second line units).
By german side I'm thinking on subversions such as  Jagdpanther G2, Jagdtiger Porsche, Tiger II Porsche (used at least one or two in Balaton offensive) More captured material (as Sherman) and very early german models reconverted .

And please, ... A TRUE ... PzIVJ Late.

Nice to see others notice this, lol amongst lots of other nit bits with vehicles etc.

Okay, assumption is the mother of all FUs.  My bad, location does not mean origin.  Just lucky you're not from Derby (only kidding if anyone is from Derby, it's really not that bad).  The name should have given me a clue, I'm a Triumph guy myself.

Yes to everything you said.  Comet, yes.  Static weapons as flavour objects?  You mean destroyed?  I think some modded options are available for that?  Okay you might have to swap a dead cow (already modded, not sure) for a dead gun, but it might be what you want.

What about my IR Panther suggestion though?  The more I think about it, it could be great as it's a 'first of a kind', even if it only saw one or two actions in real life.

I missed the panther IFR, thats cool. as I've heard stories that some were used and fielded. assumption is the mother of all FU''s, key bit of advice for my work being on the railway, don't assume anything lol. .another little neat thing i'd like is the RSO tractor!!!! Nearly forgot about him! and then you could even have the RSO -PAK40...ANNND! with this facility already being modelled in shock force, we could have goliaths for our pixeltruppen pioneers... that would be something. . really out there.

don't feel bad about the assumption, I feel privileged to be schooled over here, gives a nice perspective that yanks, be it I luv em, they miss...lol and its not just the language lol

I'M also deadly serious about the jagdpather issue, just seems naked without them...curses!! lol

Me too but I haven't tried any modern stuff yet. Not even demos (there are demos right, I'm too lazy to check?) 😬.

Having said that I must confess to a fondness for CMBN.  And CMFB.  And CMFI.  The order I wrote that is interesting (probably to me only) but hey ho.

I'm 18, have long blonde hair and a bodacious body.  I like animals, helping people and doing yoga at the top of Mount Fuji. Well okay that's not all true, but some is.

And nothing to brag about but I discovered CMRT and then the other titles about two and a half years ago.  Wow, where was my head buried 😆?  Partly in the Il2 skies and SH3 Grey Wolves seas ironically...

a GWX 3.0 man aswell eh?? you do impress..o7 heir kaulein! lol

That was a quick switch from CMRT to CMBN 🤣.

    Anyway

    • Sdkfz 7 - totally agree, but the rationale I think has been that moving large guns in the CM timeframe is less likely?
    • Brummbar -  if you need your fix, it's already in CMFI, not sure about other titles without checking.  I imagine it would not be that difficult to port over (by Charles of course).
    • Stug IV - again totally agree, although a re-skinned Stug III (mod or BFC) might be difficult to tell apart?  Also, we do have Jagdpanzer IVs so we're not far from a StugIV.
    • Opel (ahem) Maultier? - Yes cool indeed, I'd buy that for a dollar.
    • British trucks don't excite me as much, but then I am British (just like your good self).

As for Steve promising late war goodies, do we know what he might have had in mind?

    • I would have said for curiosity a Sturmtiger, but then I remembered we already have it somewhere (CMRT?).
    • A Pershing perhaps, but not in RT of course.
    • Not late war but Nashorn, or do we have that already?
    • If not a Maultier, one of the Sdkfz251 rocket artillery carriers?

😄 . A sdkfz just seems common sense, it's a piece of the terrain so to say..I can just picture one that's been ambushed with the 88 in tow. going back to towed weapons "packing" and "limbering" time's. I do think in all fairness these need to be worked on. there is plenty of footage of the smaller ones and even sometimes the medium ones being pushed around with a competent crew. I for one do like the missions where you have to set up a static defense with the detailed work of getting the trucks in the right place etc.

Brummbar's are a unique vehicle interesting to. I do have a book that details they were deployed to a unit in normandy, but like I mentioned before it may be out of the scope or theatre of the game, (HOWEVER!!!!----that was when it was just normandy, obviously the setting has moved to include market garden etc, so..??? come on!!!) lol

Stug IV - again totally agree, although a re-skinned Stug III (mod or BFC) might be difficult to tell apart? !!!! blasphemy!!! if folks can't tell the difference they should stick to solitaire! lmao my life! lol

Opel (ahem) Maultier? - Yes cool indeed, I'd buy that for a dollar. cheers! spelling escaped me! lol

British trucks don't excite me as much, but then I am British (just like your good self). !!!!!! blasphemy no2" ! ! I'm a yank, be I was raised and schooled in good old blighty! so, I don't destroy the English language so bad, lol (Derby = DARby lmao) father was USAF.

I would have said for curiosity a Sturmtiger, but then I remembered we already have it somewhere (CMRT?). yes its in CMFB, altho it would be nice to have it on another theatre, again tho. there were only like 11 built. and I believe they were all in the west.  but maybe..

A Pershing perhaps, but not in RT of course. IF YOU ADD THE PERSHING! ITS ONLY FAIR TO ADD THE COMET!!!!!!! MY NO 1 RULE lol...awesome.

If not a Maultier, one of the Sdkfz251 rocket artillery carriers? cool idea....also like the idea of static weapons as flavor objects.

  9. I think in a fun 1946 what if scenario that would be cool. would be great to as I'm sure someone could mod the German army's last camouflage scheme for their uniforms.

I will hold Steve to his promise of some very late war goodies.

I may never get my E series, but he did have some real fun things in mind.

  10. please! I know it's been discussed a few times, even from the developer's side of things, the Wishlist. where does one stop etc??? BUT. I would love to see a few more additions.

CM Normandy ---- would be great to see the addition of things like, SDKFZ 7 (for towing of larger AT guns, 88?) Bumbar (it did serve in Normandy.be it late in the theatre) Stug IV (my favorite) lol... opel mulitz ????

    even the british matador truck?

In a nut shell...If they are willing and are able. I'd be happy to pay for such additions. and more than a battle packs worth 😜

Hello to all of you out there!  Yes, this update is overdue.  Yes, I am sorry for that.  Been waiting until I had some solid good news for you guys before posting where things are at.  Now that I have, it’s time to update ;)

I am pleased to announce that we have just opened up preorders for an amazing Battle Pack for Combat Mission Red Thunder.  Why amazing?  Easy answer to that is GeorgeMc is the guy responsible for it.  If you don’t know why this is important, then put in a preorder and you’ll soon see.

The new Battle Pack covers the late summer Soviet offensives that took it to the borders of the Reich.  The Battle Pack includes two new campaigns and 13 standalone scenarios and 14 new Master Maps.  As George might say, “all good fun”.

Since I know full well that you want to know about what is going on with the other stuff, I’ve copied the items from my January posting and am going to go through them one by one:

Updated Cold War (early February) - this extends the newly implemented PBEM++ system to include Slitherine's automated Tournament system.  Yup, you can now play for fame, glory, and at times fabulous prizes in a structured environment!

Done, but update is awaiting release (should be very soon).  Took waaaaaaaaay more time and effort than we expected, but the last of the glitches appear to be stomped out.  This is what we were waiting for to do this…

Updated CMSF2 and Black Sea (1st Quarter) - both previously released Matrix/Slitherine CM Families will get the PBEM++ and Tournament systems as free updates.  Any bug fixes and what not that have come up from Cold War development will be rolled in as well.

Once the final approval and posting of the Cold War patch is complete, releasing patches for CMSF2 and Black Sea should come out shortly.  Any cumulative and relevant bug fixes that were done for Cold War will, of course, be included.

Normandy for Matrix/Steam (March/April) - the entire Normandy Family of games will be released on both Matrix and Steam platforms with PBEM/Tournament features included.  Coinciding with this will be a new Battle Pack focusing on early D-Day combat.

Once again, this was on hold due to the PBEM/Tournament coding to be what it needs to be.  Unlike our own releases, Matrix/Steam releases are done when Slitherine’s schedule has an opening.  The time is needed for marketing and production work, both of which are important.  Usually it’s about 2 months, but maybe we can get lucky and have it be a little less.

Fortress Italy for Matrix/Steam (June/July) - all titles from the Fortress Italy Family goes out onto Matrix/Steam with the PBEM/Tournament features.  A Battle Pack is planned to be released at the same time, the specific focus not being fully nailed down as of yet.

Battle Pack is underway, but release has to wait until after Normandy is out.  Same marketing reasons apply.

Red Thunder for Matrix/Steam (September/October) - as you might expect by now, Matrix/Steam with PBEM/Tournament features.  A simultaneous release of a new Battle Pack is also planned.  The Pack focuses on Kampfgruppe Mühlenkamp's attempts to keep the Soviets from moving westward in July 1944.

Well, what do you know… we got this one out on time :)

Final Blitzkrieg for Matrix/Steam (December/January) - last, but not least, the final CM2 Family of games will be released for Matrix/Steam with PBEM and Tournament systems.  At the same time we'll release a new Module that will extend the timeframe through to the end of the war and introduce Commonwealth Forces plus the last ditch forces of the Third Reich.

Also well underway, but again marketing needs mean it’s release is a bit further down the road.  Each product deserves its own time in the spotlight, donchaknow.

Now that I’ve put forward a full update, I’ll just say that we’ve also been very busy on the CM2 Professional side of things.  We had a hard deadline of April 1 to deliver a whole bunch of stuff for a customer and it took a couple of weeks more to clear up lingering issues.  In the end it didn’t wind up delaying anything as the PBEM/Tournament coding was outsourced (our old buddy Phil!), but we were extra busy for sure.

Work has also started on a Module for Cold War.  No details at this point, just preliminary work.  We’ll let you guys know more when there’s more to say.

I think I got everything covered!  Happy to finally get you guys some good news.

As always, thanks for your continued support!

    Steve

what! no pictures! such a tease!!!! lol..all good. can't wait. already purchased the FR - battle pack,. when will said files be released to use/?
