  1. Lol, I also made this mod, or at least a very similar mod, a month or two ago, in preparation for Fire and Rubble's arrival. It's all ready to go for CMFB and RT-F&R when the module arrives, just need the fieldcap model and a texture as a guide. Adapted some of EZ's uniforms too, but need to work in some of those warm jackets, what's great is that the gebirgs tag works with models too. You obviously know that though as you mix helmets in your screen shot.
  2. On the US tables: Armored Infantry tab: Specialist Teams - Airborne 57mm AT Gun - an Airborne unit present in Armored Infantry tab? Wears standard US army uniforms - so just the name is wrong? Specialist Teams - Can't find any specialist M1917 teams in Scenario Editor or QB purchase screen.
  3. I've come across a few TOE issues in the recent patches. For what it's worth, I put all those remaining in 2.03 into a list - in the hope they get noticed and fixed one day... Quick Battle TOE Issues: Infantry tab: 2 x Identical Wehrmacht Fusilier Companies (duplicate formation?) 2 x Identical Wehrmacht Fortress MG Battalion (duplicate formation?) 2 x Identical Wehrmacht Panzerschreck Company (duplicate formation?) Specialist Teams Wehrmacht Forward Observer - Missing Specialist Teams Wehrmacht Flamethrower Team - Missing Specialist Teams Waffen SS Forward Observer - Missing Specialist Teams Waffen SS Flamethrower Team - Missing Armored Infantry tab: Specialist Teams Waffen SS Forward Observer - Missing Specialist Teams Waffen SS Flamethrower Team - Missing SS Panzergrenadier Battalion 44A: - The option to dismount platoons results in squads in Wehrmacht uniforms. Reported this 2 years ago, still present in 2.03. Further details: http://community.battlefront.com/topic/134648-waffen-soldiers-in-heer-uniforms/ Armor tab: Panzerjager Battalion 44 - Jagdpanzer selection gives only Hetzers, no models of JgPzIV available. This appears to be a different formation to the Panzerjager Battalion 44 in the Scenario Editor TOE with different options. Hetzer (early) - seems to be unavailable in any formation or as single vehicle *************************************************************************************************************** Scenario Editor TOE Issues: Infantry tab: Specialist Teams Wehrmacht Forward Observer - Missing Specialist Teams Wehrmacht Flamethrower Team - Missing Specialist Teams Waffen SS Forward Observer - Missing Specialist Teams Waffen SS Flamethrower Team - Missing Armored Infantry tab: Specialist Teams Waffen SS Forward Observer - Missing Specialist Teams Waffen SS Flamethrower Team - Missing Armor tab: Hetzer (early) - seems to be unavailable in any formation or as single vehicle
  4. Yeah, I wasn't patched up to 2.03 on my laptop for some reason, I think cause I wanted the FO's back. My rig is 2.03 and they are there, and I found the Marder I too, still can't find the early Hetzer though. So ignore my comments in the Lynx, it was missing in 2.02 though they obviously put it back in.
  5. Ok, so in the Meijel Mayhem mission, the unit that is equipped with the Lynx is the 1st Company Recon Tank of the Armored Pz Aufkl. Battalion. The option for recon tanks is no longer available???
  6. Where is the Lynx now? I can't seem to find it in any formation at any date. Manual says the Pz Aufkl. Btl has it, but I don't see it, or as an option. I can't see it in the scenario editor as a single vehicle either. If anyone knows where to find it please let me know. It's still in the game files, the manual and it appears in the Meijel Mayhem scenario. Hope it's not another victim.
  7. Looks like state sponsored propaganda to me. Ministry of culture and ministry of defence? Perhaps someone decided all the books by western historians detailing the Red Army’s conduct in Ukraine, the Baltic states and Poland needed some counter balance. I find reading these books pretty difficult given the amount of pages detailing the use of mass rape as a terror tactic, and often in countries who’s only crime was to be occupied by Germany. The murder and genocide I am less shocked by now, having read a few.
  8. I had no idea there was larger version already in RT, I'll check it out. Thanks George for these nice maps.
  9. If it's not a Studebaker (with some kind of skin issue) that's actually been placed there, then I think it's a flavor object mod? There should be 3 piles of rubble there. There is no truck at all when I open it, I'm guessing that's because I don't have any flavor object mods.
  10. I saw it was pretty cheap on steam (50% off for the big bundle), nearly bought it, checked BF.com and was shocked to see the same discount, so I bought it there. I'd rather be at the start of the key chain than at the end. Its now its on my Matrix and Steam accounts as a result.
  11. One of my all time favorite maps is the CMBS Demo map from Black Sea with its rolling hills and detailed village. It features in at least two of the scenarios in that game. I have converted it to work in Red Thunder. This wasn't easy, I have tried a few times before and it would never load. This time I deleted all the buildings in CMBS and then manually replaced them all after getting it to load in CMRT. A few extra tweaks were needed but not much. Kudos to its original author. This is Map 260 from Black Sea, (basically the meeting engagement version of the CMBS Demo map). AI plans are rudimentary but functional. Town-Hills Meet 260.zip
  12. CMFB used to have 2 versions of the Hetzer, named "Hetzer" and "Hetzer (late)", I can now only find the late version. Which formation is the original in? It still appears in the mission A War Without Mercy.btt and you can also see it listed in the manual and it must have been available once as it appears in the custom vehicle dealerships mission. But now it seems it's no longer available in the QB or editor, another casualty of the TOE streamlining efforts?
  13. Link to a fixed version of the JPzIV 70 V (early) >>> Fixed model download mediafire 652kb This is the model file found in the 2.03 patch, I just fixed the texture names inside the .mdr. Only the main lod (highest level of detail) included. Also the JPzIV early had the same problem its mudguards, so fixed that too.
  14. A couple more things about 2.03. 1. CMFB 2.03 and the latest CMBS patch are filling my temp folder with little 2kb files with a prefix of SS_ and the a 4 hex file name. I assume they can be deleted safely (except when the game is running - this is how i identified their origin and I wondered where they were coming from for a while). 3 new ones are created per session. Looks like a small executable or dll. Maybe SoftwareShield DRM (SS prefix??) is responsible -just guessing. This is new since 2.03 however. 2. There is a new Jagdpanzer IV 70 V (early) model in the 2.03 patch. The reason for this inclusion isn't mentioned in the readme notes. The only reason I'm mentioning it is it includes some new texture errors as well as some old ones. The sparetrack options (on the back of the hull) are now using the wrong texture (the jpz skirt texture is used instead of the correct one), this is a brand new texture bug for this model introduced with 2.03. The sparewheel option is using the wheel texture. It shouldn't, it should be using the hull, there is a spare wheel on bottom left the hull texture for this purpose (this error had been around since the release of CMFB). Also the mudguard options are using the skirt texture and not the hull (again a long term graphics bug). You can actually see the mudguards and track using the textures from the side skirts in this image. However it is relatively easy to fix the model, here is what it should look like (I edited a fix of 2.03 model): The track is from the pziv skirt texture, while the spare wheels and mudguards are from jpz hull. The correct texture names were identified by looking at other jpz models lacking the error. I confess I've gone back to 2.02 now, I mostly play QB's and the inability to buy cheap observers is a bit of a pain.
  15. This is for hypeman but i'm putting the link here in case anyone makes a similar request. Pick and mix balaclava
  16. Never mind, I wasn’t aware of that. You can find examples on google but they all appear to be contemporary, or re-enactors. I did look at some old black and white photos and it appears they are all oak leaf type. But while I am a stickler for such things I have a few mods installed that are similarly not 100% historically accurate but for good aesthetic reasons. Oh well.
  17. I made these two SS-helmets to complement Lucky Strike's nice helmet pack, which I use with EZjax's excellent camo-peas uniforms. I use them in Final Blitzkrieg, but I imagine they will work in Normandy etc. You can probably add the camo-peas tag if you want too and increase their frequency by using multiple numbered copies. I made them by taking the plain snow helmets, then taking parts of EZjax's uniforms to lay over the top, then tweaking to fit etc, so the color tones should match well. 18. Sorry for the delay, haven't checked this in a while. The template contains all the faces from black sea for Ukraine and Russian forces. So you can select any face and balaclava combination you want and then create the .bmp texture for use in game. I shouldn't have expected everyone to have or know how to use, Photoshop or GIMP etc (I think GIMP is free). If you want to play with the .psd you will need one of these applications and it should be straightforward once you get used to these programs and working in layers. If not, I guess I could do it for you. You'll have to let me know exactly what you want though. For example, do you want a mix of all styles for the russian side, but with more 3-hole masks? Or just all 3-hole masks?
  19. I installed the latest patch. Where did the Specialist Teams > Forward Observers go for Wehrmacht and SS. They were there before the patch, because they are in missions I've made where I've clearly added them as Specialists and not as a Formation. Also the Fallschirmjager have their specialist FO's and the Americans have theirs too for Inf., Armd Inf. and Armor? This is a problem in QB purchase screen and in Scenario Editor...
  20. Prospective title? Any suggestions, what could it be called? I prefer real names of operations, places etc, but apparently they couldn’t think of a good one for the new RT module. Fire and rubble means nothing I’m afraid, but the rest are fine I think... the titles are appropriate for their contents. gustav line - yup rome to victory - ok but it didn’t mean much, wasn’t much of a victory at all, was captured by a us general disobeying orders for his own personal glory, and was forgotten days later when the Normandy landings occurred. market garden - yup commonwealth - fine
  21. A bit more info, I think the TOE changes are not causing the crashes, though they may still cause other issues. I found the crashing problem occurs with QB maps too and they have no units. Load an old map, followed by a new map and CMFI will CTD. Seems to be a file format issue. Looks like all the older maps need to be opened and resaved in the later version of the game. I did this for the 400+ maps in the QB folder and all scenarios. This fixes the crashes when loading old then new maps and the editor no longer crashes. Found some other issues regarding building sizes too. Looks like the 2 story commercial building shrunk a bit at some point, at least in the map editor... The game currently only has a square 2 story commercial building yet in missions like GL In for a Pound, there are rectangular versions of it, or at least these appear rectangular in the map editor, but the model is square and appears square in game. This results in weirdness like these guys hanging outside.
  22. Is there a problem with scenarios made prior to recent TOE changes? They crash in the editor for me. Details: TOE changes have been made sometime prior to R2V, around the time of engine 4, 2.02 maybe, or perhaps earlier. Scenarios (and probably campaigns) made using earlier Fortress Italy and Gustav Line formations, have not been updated, so there is a conflict in older scenarios. For example, the scenario titled GL Men with Suspicious Hats... this scenario contains a German formation from the old TOE, named 2/2 Munster. It contains 3 tanks and when you preview it, one of tanks has crew equipped with american pistols, and wearing infantry uniforms instead of tank crew uniforms. If you revert the formation to its original name, and look it up in the current TOE, you find that the PzIVG is not even available for that formation anymore, though it remains in the scenario. Loading this mission, and then subsequently loading a new "uncorrupted" mission (e.g. a homemade mission or R2V mission ) which evidently has been made using the new TOE will cause a CTD. This is currently the only way I know of to identify these problem scenarios. These old scenarios do not always appear to cause uniform and equipment issues but the case above clearly does and it may be the cause of some of the CMFI oddities people have seem recently.
  23. I remember porting an CM:FI scenario to CM:FB. It was Venafro - Back into Hell and a very small map with limited variation in buildings. It would crash in FB repeatedly and I couldn't nail down which map item was the cause. After alot of testing it turned out to be the stove pipe chimneys which I thought were flavor objects and wouldn't cause a crash, but after I removed them all it converted and ran in FB fine. As for map conversions for BS, I have a few I've done. I generally take scenarios from other games, convert them, then loadup new formations and attach the existing AI scripts with both games open to try and get a similar formation. This doesn't always work out as planned, e.g. I converted Monster Mash from Red Thunder and swapped out the IS-2s for T-90s and the Panthers for M1A2's, but while a massed AI tank assault might work for the russians in a WW2 scenario, against the Abrams it doesn't. It just doesn't.
  24. Very nice screenshot. This is the pick of the bunch for me. You don't need bullets, tracers and cataclysmic explosions, just atmosphere and a bit of tension. Plus the game generally looks better from lower angles IMO. Having said that, the muzzle blast on the Panther in the 5th pic looks awesome too.
