Just wanted to drop by and compliment those working on this on their mapping ability. The maps for this look pretty fantastic to my eye. As someone who constantly feels held back by my lack of ability with the map editor I have to say I'm very impressed, and only a touch jealous!

Quick update:
Kafr Nabudah 4k is coming along nicely. Qasabiyeh, Kabani, and Tal Malah have been updated internally for the campaign. Here's some in-progress shots of Kabani after the elevation rework.

Very nice! I definitely recommend making use of every asset for that scenario, they're all designed that way. It's not an easy battle by any means, I can't tell you how many times my guys ended up getting their heads chopped off during testing...

Playing Qasabiyeh - Blue Attack is quite fun as Blue. Nice scenario. I do not want to give some spoilers. But, after my second attempt, I am still running out of time. 50 minutes is quite short since I am a very cautious player. But, I have not used all my artillery assets... so back for a third attempt. 😏

The BMD is thus sent back to Volgograd Tractor Factory, Volgograd, RSFSR.

Rustam Khan is a happy man. His group took out two Shuravi BMD's.

I do something similar with my tanks, so as to increase their survival rates against various atgm's.

Try with issuing the unit a 10-15 seconds pause (depends on the system and how much time is required to acquire the target, shoot and in case of guided missiles- guide) and then a movement order. I use it with RPG's and ATGM's, it usually works.

That guy is a russian reporter, hes been following the tigers for a while now. Oleg something is his name
edit: Oleg Blokhin is the name, some parts say he is a reporter, others a mercenary.

In the end you go to battle with what you have...we in the west "mostly" have the luxury of having a lot of equipment to go about. Its something thats suprised me for a couple of years now, all the video of the tiger forces and the 4th armoured with preety much no standard equipment. Then again thats not everything, You dont have to just look the part, you have to play the part and im sure after all these years these guys know what they are doing. You can tell when you watch them. A plate carrier is nice but combat experience is better.

@Liveload  I fully appreciate that the Syrians are defending their country, and Brit flippancy doesn't always travel.
As I said, I just took "Typical" for everything and upgraded a couple of sniper teams, 1 Observer team, and the sole 120 mm mortar (to Veteran - they seem to be significantly more accurate than the 82mms).  So everyone is green or conscript.
Howver, while some of the Syrian army is highly effective: the Tiger Forces and the 4th Division, I stand by my observations about a good deal of the Syrian Army. Not out of prejudice - it  is a conscript army and very different to highly professional NATO forces. Look at the photos - most of them have no body armour, not even a steel helmet. I wouldn't go into battle like that, let alone without kevlar+ceramic plates, eye protection (I met a Brit ex-Squaddie a couple of months ago who caught an IED in Afghanistan - he showed me a pic: his face was a mess but the protective eyewear saved his sight, you could see where he was wearing it cos it was fine and the rest was all bloody - it ws like a white eyemask amid red).  The Syrian army has taken horrendous casualties and probably "All the best men are dead" type of thing.
How motivated would anyone here be to fight without decent protection?
So I think BF are very realistic in simulating what we would call "poor quality troops" and they would call "staying alive to come home" people. I have also read several accounts  of westerners fighting with the Kurdish forces in Syria, and while the Kurds are clearly very heavily motivated they still have discipline problems, unprofessionalism/individualism and of course a lack of every sort of support and logistics which NATO (and I assume the Russians) take for granted.

Right now we are testing new scenario concepts and creating maps. All of your favorite characters will be making a return. Abu Bob, Abu Steve, Abu Allmani, the GoPro Units...and a few new ones that you'll hopefully enjoy even more. I know you're asking, "but how are they making a return if I killed them in the last scenario?!?!". Ask yourself how many times a terrorist has been declared dead only to turn up at a later date alive and well...🤣
We'll post some screens as we get closer to completion.

Might want to check out some Syrian civil war scenarios being worked on, they are really interesting to play. 
 
 

Operation Star is the title most like CM, where you give orders to guys and vehicles etc. The much cooler version of this is the full on tank sim Steel Armor: Blaze of War. They have a Basra 86 DLC (which you mentioned) as well as covering 80s Afghanistan and Angola in the main game. Pretty immersive but I have to admit I don't have a ton of time invested because of being dragged in so many other directions. But I do recommend it. Put some head phones on and jump in the tank and you will feel like you are there! A VERY cool little known gem.

Related to this thread, but not worthy of it's own; I thought it would be really cool if we could combine both Black Sea and Shock Force 2 someday. There's so much that could be done scenario and mod wise if that were possible. Just being able to pull from all those terrain elements and objects alone would be amazing, not to mention all the equipment...

I see what you did there  very nice touch!!!

Hope you're having a great weekend thus far. Today we are adding Al Hamamiyat to the key battles of the Spring/Summer Offensive of 2019 that we've covered thus far. A huge heap of praise goes to Aurelius for helping make this one happen!

The map is 3km x 2km. It is a Blue Attack Scenario that is best played as Blue. There is a simple Blue AI plan for those that wish to create a QB map from it. The scenario has the player taking over command of local SAA forces at close to dusk on July 11, 2019.
