  1. Nice. So the file name says CMBS but this is for the WW2 games, right? Or does it work for both ww2 and CMBS?
  2. Nice, I use your terrain for CMRT and I love it. I going to try this one now. Thanks for your work.
  3. Could someone post the new tracer file names please? And which side/weapons use which colours?
  4. Quick question : I haven't played CM in a couple of months so I don't have the v1.04 patch for Black Sea installed. Do I need to install it before switching to the new upgrade 4 ?
  5. You should post a screenshot of the map. I know that without launching the game I couldn't tell you which one Gauntlets Crossed is. That could help.
  6. Good question Erwin. Honestly I don't know. The small sheds are made out of bricks or cinder blocks as far as I can tell and they have a metallic roof. No idea how widespread the last two construction materials were in the 1940's. Personally I use Tanks a Lot's barns for CMRT and I don't have CMBN. I just had a quick look at Tank's a Lot's barns in my CMRT mod folder and some of them have a metallic roof too, so you could probably use the wooden barns/sheds if you wanted even though his are quite a bit better imo. Moreover having different textures in the two games can be refreshing when you go back and forth between the two. I know I have two different sets of ground textures for instance.
  7. you can"t preview posts anymore? what's up with that?
  8. I have had this big barn reskin on my HD for over a year, so I thought I might as well just upload it somewhere and share it. Not a masterpiece but the rusty roof looks striking from a distance when you look at the map from above. I think it is decent enough. I didn't bother with the interior but I might fix it later if I am feeling motivated. Preview picture below : And here it is side by side with the default barn : And here is the dropbox link : https://www.dropbox.com/s/cc1x2iwwm49zjhn/Zveroboy's%20big%20barn%20200%20B.rar?dl=0 Enjoy.
  9. Best watched with the Benny Hill theme music in the background.
  10. These are great thanks. No problem with the website here but I have adblock.
  11. Can someone tell me how many scenarios there are in the full game? Thanks.
  12. I don't get this complaint at all. All you need to do is bind : Q and E to rotate the camera W and S for forward and backward and A and D to left and right Then you can also use the mousewheel to pan up and down, control + left click to move over to a distant point on the map and possibly another key to reverse the view. The OP must be using the right mouse button to move around, but this is only useful when shooting vids for youtube in order to get smooth camera movements, you can't play the game like this
  13. ....as opposed to 4 men for a german platoon HQ. I have been wondering about this for a while. This makes them extremely vulnerable obviously and you're naturally inclined to keep them in the back so they don't get killed by a stray bullet, putting the whole platoon out of command. Was it really so? They have no radios ok but no assistant or messengers? I think it is like this in Black Sea too if I am not mistaken. So what's the rationale behind it?
  14. How good are you with photoshop or gimp? Adding graffitis is probably not the most difficult thing in the world but you need to know the basics of photoshop first. Here are a couple of links with some tutorials you could follow : http://photoshopcafe.com/tutorials/graffiti/graffiti.htm http://www.iceflowstudios.com/2012/tutorials/graffiti-text-effect-in-photoshop/ If you don't have access to Photoshop, you could give Gimp a try. It is a free programme and for a beginner it will do everything you need, the only downside being that the tools and menus are slightly different, so following a tutorial made for Photoshop might be a little tricky. And speaking of tutorials, if you're willing to learn, there are millions of them online covering all aspects of graphic design. It is a useful skill to have and learning by moding bmps is not a bad place to start.
  15. Quick answer : If you know how to use photoshop or gimp, it is just a matter of creating a replacement bmp for the texture you want to modify. But first you will need to unpack the brz located in your Black Sea/Data folder. There is a tool provided for it in the Mod Tools folder of your game install. Basically you copy the brz and paste it into the RezExplode folder, then click the exe and it will unpack everything inside. Now there are several of these brz files, so you will need to find which one contains the bmp you are looking for. Maybe there is a list somewhere.
  16. Ok here is the map. Kalynivka.rar dropbox I might try to come up with a scenario for it one day, but don't let that stop you from using it for whatever you want. Make a scenario for it yourself, a campaign, a quick battle map with an AI plan, it is up to you (and whoever else downloads it).
  17. The whole area inside the red square is probably a bit too large if you ask me. I have had a quick look in google earth and even if you crop it as much as possible, from the crossroad, (probably named Kalynivka, I think the name in google earth is not in the right spot) to the very beginning of the Debaltsevo suburb, you have a 4.5 or 5 km length. I don't know how familiar you are with the editor or CM map making general, but it is quite an endeavour to undertake such a big project. So I would advise against it and instead split it into several smaller maps or scenarios. Now I happen to have mapped this exact same crossroad last year and it is 80% finished. If you're interested I could wrap it up fairly quickly and put it in a dropbox link for you. A quick preview : As far as the topo maps are concerned, I can't help you but having one is probably not mandatory. You can do without it by using the altitude info in google earth and by simply adding several elevations points, the editor will do the rest. Alternatively there is also a way to create a contour map with the overlay tool in google earth.
  18. Yes that's fair enough. Some of the comments in these threads are probably ill intentioned with the not so subtle aim of discrediting the Ukrainians but lumping together all the people who point out the flaws on the Ukrainian side is not only unfair and silly but also counter productive. The way I see it, if you acknowledge it when the Ukrainians suffer a defeat, even minor, (it really felt like pulling one of Steve's teeth out to have him finally admit Debaltseve was one), or acknowledge when they harbour not so respectable elements in their ranks, to put it mildly, instead of simply dismissing these claims, IT ONLY MAKES YOUR CASE STRONGER when you criticize the other side, not weaker, because you'd appear a lot more objective and impartial this way. Sorry but I feel pretty strongly about the neo-nazi thing. With the rise of right wing extremism in Europe with pegida, ukip, national front etc, it is a threat that feels a lot closer to home and worrying for me than the distant fighting in Ukraine.
  19. Am I the only one who is a bit bothered by the fact that when Azov is mentioned, instead of getting something like : "yes it is a bit of a disgrace to have these guys fighting on our side, maybe they do more harm than good to the Ukrainian cause etc...", we get "they're not really true neo nazis" and " the separatists have some fishy guys too"? I mean come on, it is like the Ukrainians are getting a blank check and it is taboo to criticize them. Concerning the sanctions, I don't think anyone is suggesting that we shouldn't sanction Russia, but rather not to get your hopes up too much about the results of said sanctions.
  20. Yes definitely DNR specops. At least that's what the author meant. Agreed on the last point too. People who think Russian troops are doing most of the fighting are as misinformed as people who deny Russian involvement.
  21. No. Detailed in the sense that the sequence of events for the whole operation is really fleshed out. It goes without saying that you need to use your critical judgement when reading these and arm yourself with a healthy dose of scepticism.
  22. Oh sure, I don't think it was the main reason though.
