  1. George, I have a question for you. When I'm designing maps, and I want to add a building, I get (say I pick barns) a number of choices but I can't really tell what any of the tiny icons really represents. Some are bigger, others smaller, but between small icon x or y, I can't see a difference. How do I know what I'm putting down?
  2. ChappyCanuck, you're welcome! Are you new to CMBN, or just to scenario design?
  3. Probably the best resource is the PDF that is included with the 3.0 upgrade, Sheriff of Osterbeek Scenario Design AAR. I believe it resides in the Documents folder in CM I'm new to this too and have been lookng around for resources, as I have a thousand questions. This post also has some additional resources to examine http://community.battlefront.com/topic/117490-campaign-factory-job-openings-apply-now-no-experience-required/?p=1570254
  4. I was able to get it to record sound, but because it records what it's outputting over the speakers, using the built in microphone, it sounds bad and has a lot of feedback happening. Dang...
  5. I suspected that those were my options but wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking anything. Thanks!
  6. I was wondering if anyone has done vids of the game on OSX. I am easily able to record video using the included QuickTime, but it has no sound. How does one (without purchasing additional software) record audio with video from the screen?
  7. This is a delightful way to tempt people! You make it all sound so fun! I am new to CMBN, and only used the editor to preview maps before I select them for Quick Battles. I used to make small and large maps for Steel Panthers, as well as SPMBT and SPWW2, centuries ago. I'd be willing to give it a try, as long as you don't hinge anything on me getting anywhere.
  8. That nice, Jorge. The black and white effect with grain makes it look more like a photo.
  9. I recently received this book as an order from Amazon, but I havent had a chance to read it. Skimming through it though it certainly seemed very promising. The Crimean campaign was tough, from what I read elsewhere, it will be nice to have it in more detail as a subject on its own this time.
  10. Matt, I'm completely green. I have CMBN with everything including vehicle pack, patched to 3.11. I have Dropbox but do not use HTHH. I love history, and would like someone who is interested in chatting about the battles we play as an experience, a simulation and not just another win. To talk about what worked, and what didn't, and share strategies. As I'm a total noob, I'd like to do very small Quick Battles. Probably could use friendly advice. It sounds like you may be far advanced compared to me if you played the older games. Like you, it might take me 2-3 days to return a turn. If that doesn't work for you, no worries.
  11. Oooohhhh.. I'll have to see that in action then. I thought I saw them go from all green to some green/some grey, and had no clue what that meant
  12. What a pity. I was so looking forward to seeing a real Tiger in action, but from what I hear, the movie sounds really lame. Waste of a chance to show off the beastie in something decent. Guess it's going in my "rent-when-bored" list., LOL
  13. I just wanted to confirm - the green dots one sees on an off-map arty unit when calling in artillery fire is meant to indicate the number of tubes in the battery? I noticed one battery with 6 dots but only lets you fire 4 guns so I'm confused. Aldo, how does one put that to practical use? Does it tell me that a three-tube heavy barrage is about equal to a 6 tube medium? Or how fast ammo will be used up? Or how big the radius is of area fire, or the length of linear fire? Not related to this - I always assumed that the volume of fire is fixed for a given barrage, so many shells in so much time, so if one has double the area, or double the length for linear fire, it would half the saturation, would it not?
  14. Brittle troops go much easier from normal to panicked,I assume?
  15. Ok, thanks. Any idea what the yellow one around the fatigue level might indicate? Someone in an AAR vid said that once there is a rectangle the status is going to remain for the rest of that battle (tired will not recover to a less disadvantaged state). I wondered if that's true. If not, is it just for emphasis?
  16. Unit attributes (rested, tired, etc) sometimes will have a coloured rectangle around their status. I haven't followed this closely but I believe one can have Tired Tired (with a yellow rectangle) Some may have a red rectangle surrounding the status I assume that these are not just visual embellishments but have some actual meaning. I didn't see anything in the manual about this, can someone give me some info?
  17. Have a look at this. Seemed to explain this process well. Can't recall who wrote this but it's a link posted somewhere here in an older post. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1yVJrNgsek5gXkp3E7r1GmJegnZasJG_w9bDVi4lc-N0/mobilebasic?pli=1
  18. That's awesome! This community has been very helpful to me, it's gratifying to finally be able to return that.
  19. Glad to help. Hope it solves your problems. Well, CMBN problems And I do recommend you try Hister's advice, change the camera mode and try all 3, one of them may cure your camera angle problem. Good luck!
  20. I have a MacBook. It's in Applications>>CM Battle for Normandy>>Documents Would be the same folder as where it puts the game manual PDFs and readme files. It's actually called Activate New Products
  21. Nice one Borg. Seems the PAK 40's are a popular choice for screenies. They just look convincing!
