After too many days of Blender experiments. Some that DID involve tequila. I have achieved a good 83% success with a Panzer I Ausf B. :D

It has 2 MG's and they both fire. It has a 2 man crew. It is lightly armored and about the right speed.

I have to do some markings still.

your retirement is in fact "a hidden moment" for the moment, towards the beginning of other diabolical facts and creations, that you will realize in another box, worthy of BFC, Graviteam,... I dare not think that you will remain inactive very long after  this brave mod France 1940.

Happy to announce that the long version of MISSION BOSTON - OBJECTIVE LA FIERE - EXPANDED has completed final play testing and has been posted to the Scenario Depot III. Final play test went smoothly including down the various branches of the campaign.

The campaign is tough but is winnable. The campaign is extremely historical, meaning that two huge and long scenarios are about 'avoiding' action while the AI searches for you. In one or two other situations you are more likely to be defeated than win but do not be discouraged. Try to inflict as much damage on the German AI as possible as this will affect the core units file and German strength in following scenarios. Nearly all of the units involved in the campaign are part of the core units file. There is a lot of AI activity going on that you will not see. German units are on the move, frequently triggered by your actions.

If you get booted from the campaign you might still earn a measure of victory. The later you get booted (if you do) the higher the victory level. What is implied is that the Americans are going to win this campaign regardless of your performance. Getting booted means that you failed to accomplish your tasks within the timetable Ike demanded of you.

Thanks you very much @WimO, for this big update, really appreciated the time that you spend to give us the best of, (never be satified with yourself, like every modders, that give more and more),  I am busy now, but I will have an eye on your finished job, thanks again to share it !

JM are you sure you can't make the trip as well?

yes, but invisible or not, your antennas have betrayed you 😆

🙃 So sorry guy I have some problems for now, but... thanks for asking, really appreciated, this is why, my sweet and I, have postponed our trip to northern Spain... I propose to ask Stephane @Falaise, I think he will be a perfect guide to explore Saumur, you will have a story in real (and a flavour of beers and more..., one day this will be my turn 😊)... from the Normandy I guess is not toooo far he will be perhaps available the duo changing in trio... envy envy !!😇

Last night I added a Lloyd carrier roadwheel to my Panzer I Ausf B in place of an existing roadwheel.

The first test it ran but in an odd wobbly jumpy manner.

I then went back and carefully matched the x,y,z size and x,y,z position.

The next test ALL roadwheels vanished. sad sad sad

So maybe I will switch away from the T-70 hull.

    It is fun to try.

    adults-fresh-lobster-costume.jpg

Yes and you know also, that the result from blender to CM is already long and...sad and with a lot of surprises (WDGAWYS) you don t get always what you see !!

I think also that you are working to much or you think to much, look !!, you are already... in restaurant somewhere in Europa (joking) 😆

It needs just the 47mm gun and less armor so in my opinion (2 Eurocents) it is not good to use the Archer.

If (Le grande "if") you can find a solution then it is an interesting addition to the CMFI France 1940 mod. Merci

    http://www.littlewars.se/french1940/w15tcc.html

Ok, than I am sure you will find something different, ...searching correct Armor and Calibre vehicle, is not my world, I m lost !

  6. 5 minutes ago, kohlenklau said:

I think it is not a good match because of the thicker armor. But if you want to use it...

Does CMFI have the Archer vehicle?

If yes, find the exact name of the Archer mdr file.  ****.mdr

Then you take your blender creation untitled.mdr and rename as ****.mdr

    Put in z folder.

    Start CMFI.

Purchase an Archer and it should appear as your creation.

I could have a view like you said, just curiousity ?

I want only help, is not my mod, so is up to you !

  7. 9 minutes ago, kohlenklau said:

It is a difficult project because it shoots to the rear but was thinly armored.

At first I thought you might use the Archer vehicle as the "host" but I checked and Archer has much thicker armor.

    It is good to try!

Thanks, so you mean I keep the Protze view with the Archer name and host for the gun barrel, and rename in what with the modtag ?

  8. New test !

Trying to make a Laffly from a  Protz with now a gun barrel of a Archer with a italian name like Semovente is not really easy, this happend always when the brits have something to say, (like driving to the left), when the rest of the world driving from the right 😆

     Ok seriouse now 😇

This is a difficult task. As already shown, there is a good mechanics donor in the form of L5/21. In contrast, there is a lack of donors for the 3D model. There are no vehicles on the Panzer I chassis in the CM, and there are no vehicles with a similar chassis. As far as the turret is concerned, after removal of the cannons and some rescaling, the structures from Luchs, T70 and PSW 231 are somewhat similar. Obviously, strongly extending gun barrels are needed, maybe from Stuart? Chassis? - Maybe a T70 or even better a Wiesel from CMSF2 extended by 1 wheel . Hull??? - Luchs somewhat similar ... An exceptionally difficult task ...

Imagination is your strengh @Suchy when we know how is really work we can created the Poland 39 with some little vehicles that we can take left or right guns or only hulls !

Have to ask Dr Frankenstein to make the metamorphose ! I dress already a list  😆

    18 minutes ago, kohlenklau said:

No, I didn't. I am just playing in the laboratory like Doctor Frankenstein.

I see now it is an Ausf B due to 5 roadwheels. :D

I think I can add some small pistol ports (just in closed dummy positions) and TRY to change a few armor plates to better get to the shape of the Pz I.

The L3/35 is a damn good stand-in for the Pz I...(no turret but I do have the mount moving a little like a turret)

Now I just need to make it look better.

    Very nice job like always,

here is a list of vehicles that you can eventual use for little calibre like in the beginning of the 40 !

I will also check some myself in blender and perhaps  I will be Igor on the side of Dr Frankenstein !🤓

    Daimler
    Flackpanzer hull
    Grille hull
    Humber
    Humber Irc
    Loyd
    Universal carriere
    M12 Hull
    M20 ac
    Marder I Hull
    Otter

    eventual Valentine

Hull: I started it as a prototype with the T-70 hull. At first I tried the Lloyd carrier to get the antique style spoked wheels but it had an odd hull in other areas. I will try to back fit the spoked wheels. Maybe add the horizontal tie bar.

Turret: I am using the turret from the 231 8-rad. I have scaled it to .75 and doubled the mg's and deleted the cannon. I am fighting a few Blender mystery issues but so far it performs well.

But now I go to my office job for 3 days. I will mess with it at night.

Very nice and prometting job, did you use hex editor first to find what you want to swap ?

Yes the tank was recovered in the pocket of Falaise in late August early September 1944 in the village of Bierre exactly.
I had the opportunity to discuss with one of the resistants who had participated in its recovery and that he used it.
The French have recovered a certain number of tanks: pzIV, panther and tiger. They were used in the battles of the Atlantic pocket where the Germans had none, thus avoiding the risk of friendly fire.
This tiger was baptized Brittany which for us Norman is an affront.
he no longer had an optic  and the witness explained to me that he looked through the tube to take aim. It was used as a mobile artillery piece

You are making a Very interresting job!

This must be  sometimes moving to retrace the story with "real actors" !!

Phill, this is just a little gifts, to express our gratitude for all the works that you did since years long, with your help to resolve something on the forum to many countries, with calm and friendly mind, added to your touch of humor that we will missing on the forum, and on this picture showing with my touch of jokkes but also all my thanks and my respect!

While reading another discussion forum I discovered this Youtube video which visits the location of scenario Drive on the Dreijenseweg from Market Garden module.

    https://youtu.be/A5TuMtTbzr0

There is another video at this same Youtube account which visits the real world place of scenario Counterattack at Son.

Very nice video, good representation and comparison with the actual place, very well documented and detailled, I like very much this kind of clip.
