[tuffhaus] project. Building mdr swap experiment
kohlenklau replied to kohlenklau's topic in CM2 Scenario and Mod Tips
NOTE TO MYSELF...SINCE I HAVE NO SECRETARY Finish the tuffhaus mdr modding in Blender, bring in the multistory stone cathedral as a government building and bring in a thatch roof Russian peasant house or 2 using barn mdrs. THEN mod/change a few of the mini icons for the map editor so it is easy/easier to see which ones are now stone and which are wooden. -
CHECK THE ICONS?
-
It was brought to my attention by Stephan @Falaise and I have fixed it in the goody box. I added [finn] to one damn file! No actual secretary yet. Just photos of secretary... @Commanderski

It is a great look. And historical for the Soviets. Well, at least during Stalingrad city fighting they were hand copying the maps. Xerox machine was awaiting a tech...low toner error? -

Today I was going to play a test PBEM with the [tuffhaus] mod... Then my videocard decided to die. 7 years old GEFORCE GX 980 SC... -
I took some stock BFC produced CM Cold War "African American" US soldiers and I have done some GiMP work to make a few more out of mixing them up with eyes and noses swapped around. I had like 4 or 5 when I got done so I triple copied them to fill all the skin slots 1 through maybe 21? but I need some more! Maybe 4 more. To get some variety as you play this battle in Italy by the 92nd Infantry Division. I am doing this for a CMFI mod [buffalo] in support of a CMFI campaign by @Malaspina Anybody got some time to make some faces? Grazie!

Here's some pictures of my map
kohlenklau replied to Commanderski's topic in Combat Mission Red Thunder
Damn Ski, that looks very bleak. Maybe it is the town of Bleakensburg? Or Ober-Bleakendorf? I saw landmark red letters but on my monitor here in the boonies it was blurry. Or maybe that is MY eyes? Good job! Good dedication. Keep cranking... -
Time to ask about more AI-groups again
kohlenklau replied to Glubokii Boy's topic in Combat Mission - General Discussion
I don't begrudge this request at all. I am with you. For those of us with our heads down in the editor, maybe a rare group by percentage, this going from just 8 to just 16 was wonderful. Now I am a tiny/small scenario guy and with just 16 slots for my tiny scenarios, wow, we need more. Just last night I am shoving a team in with an HQ because I am out of slots. -

Barbarossa Scenarios Released
kohlenklau replied to kohlenklau's topic in Combat Mission Red Thunder
For everybody who considers that they might be one of the "Club of Six", I have some great news. A buddy of mine has harnessed the company he works for, (he manages their Scranton, Pennsylvania branch) to be a corporate sponsor for me to set up some "tracked damage/umpire involved campaigns" we all can play here with the Barb Mod for the rest of the winter. Round of applause for his awesome company! Anybody interested? -

I fixed it in the goody box. Thank you Stephan. No shapely curves and low cut blouse but at least you are spotting errors! -
How big is a square on the map in the editor?
kohlenklau replied to Commanderski's topic in CM2 Scenario and Mod Tips
Please send a UPS or FEDEX tracking number so I know when your scenario will arrive... My wife doesn't want me racking up the credit card but if she doesn't see the delivery then it didn't happen!! -
Any luck on that? The next thing I suggest is to go to the scenario folder outside the game, not in selecting a battle to play mode. Go in and check the CMFI scenarios you downloaded ARE in your CMFI scenario folder along with GL scenarios and RTV scenarios. Maybe you put them in a scenario folder but under CMRT or whatever? Are the scenarios all with each other "shoulder to shoulder", not in a folder inside the scenario folder? Then in the game, try to sort the scenario offerings different ways, alphabetically a to z or z to a, by size small to big, big to small. Sometimes I have NOT seen a scenario and suddenly bammo, there it was all along. just sorted strange and I didn't spot it. That is all I can think of. Beyond that, go see the BFC trouble desk or maybe another player has other ideas I didn't think of. Good luck

[tuffhaus] project. Building mdr swap experiment

I am not sure I follow you. Bedding? Like furniture? IKEA furniture and that lived in, homey look? You can do the flavor objects inside the houses too. Open these scenarios, any scenarios, in the editor and have at it Tony! No, you probably mean that they look just placed upon a flat surface. This map is a master map, a stock map, but it was very flat and could use some elevation changes. Little local elevation changes of +/-1 seems to help make the buildings have a nicer foundation. Looking back at CMX2, based on now knowing (or being confused?) on how buildings act under fire and such, I personally would have given up a lot of the fancy looks for a system of sturdiness that the player could see and know during the game setup and game play and to some degree know/expect what would happen. Now the bunkers seem to offer wood or concrete. For buildings, we sure could have used a "3 Little Pigs" system of straw, sticks and bricks. ASL had wood or stone. Maybe it is in the code from Charles, but the art/texture people lost the bubble on that and we have mixed textures to cycle through but no trust that stopping on the brick texture will gain us any better protection. -
hmmm. ok. start with the easy stuff. you have the latest engine and all modules and patches? Start screen: In lower left see the 3 logos/emblems for base game, Gustav Line and Rome to Victory. In lower right I see v2.11 Game Engine 4

Oh my, well, as long as she can type and field strip my luger... But maybe we'll keep the office lights dimmed down from now on.
