  1. Here are the kills for the first round KIA troops from 76mm infantry gun and 45 mm AT gun. Each building had 11 men inside. church 000 6/3 barn 000 4/4 church 005 8/8 house 004 7/4 WTF!! The supposedly wooden walled paper bag barn had LESS guys killed than most of the rest of the cases.
  2. I am not sure why but my boys are still MOSTLY alive in the stone church but definitely haven't been targeted by 76mm infantry gun direct fire. T-34's right outside too... We have some smart gentlemen out there in BFC players community, please put a brain cell or 2 on this and see if I am not seeing something? Thanks
  3. I have 4 separate areas: house 004, church 005, barn 000 and church 000. For each area I have 4 of the buildings filled with German Waffen-SS volunteers. The Soviets have offered to target the 4 buildings in each area with the below: Maxim HMG, ATR, 83mm mortar and 76mm infantry gun. Initial thoughts: I suspect that the metadata which in the game code protects a certain building at a set level, sturdier and harder to collapse down to thin shell and easily collapsed...has NO EXTRA PROTECTION TO THE TROOPS INSIDE! Most notably I observed the blasts of the 76mm infantry gun against the sturdy stone church IMMEDIATELY killed half the occupants although the building stood strong. Such bullcrap, very sad. The same as with the other 3 buildings TO THE OCCUPANTS. Though the buildings lasted longer or shorter as expected. So sad. My hopes for the [tuffhaus] mod with a stone church that looks like houses having some actual effect for protecting the troops seems to not be achievable. Here is a link to the testing scenario.   8. I am in a PBEM and my soldaten are seeming to survive SO FAR in a 1 floor stone church. It is 8x16 Floorplan. I was thinking what if I had an 8x16 independent house mdr renamed as that church mdr? I SHOULD get that beefy stone wall church Metadata for the game code but visually see a house. I did the rename. Looks visually ok now. Now I will do some various tests with mortars and direct fire. This could be nice!
  9. Thanks Gary. You are always very kind and supportive. I figure I have at least 5 or 6 people playing these scenarios! The old CMMODS and scenario depots had a way to track downloads but I think booty did away with that. My dropbox version does NOT support keeping track of downloads. But the old CMMODS and TSD never showed thousands of downloads. If I recall correctly the counter wast just sometimes 300 some odd downloads for even the very most popular of mods and scenarios. Makes me wonder how many dudes are actually playing these games sometimes! I never really saw the ASL map for this but I figured it had more distance between the buildings as a generic ASL map. I decided to squeeze the buildings a bit closer together after looking at old postcards of Imperial Russia and early USSR. That screen refresh thing...weird. But it is the disadvantage of my shenanigans with the 3D files I suppose. I can dork around with the files and try to solve it. I will PM you later. If you have any ASL Ost Front scenarios you want me to translate, please PM me. I am in a Barbarossa mindset at the moment but can look at other timeframes. I will try my best.

  11. Hey Lee. Get the modules for CMBN AND get yourself CMCW if you dream of that timeframe. Life is too short to hesitate over these double digit purchases. Just skip a few meals or cut back somewhere on your other expenses. Have fun!

  13. I have all the modules for CMBN so maybe/probably/definitely that is why you couldn't open the smock test scenario I made for you...
  14. Hmmm. I tried to go the extra mile and went into the CMBN editor. BIG QUESTIONS: Do you ONLY have the base game? Do you have any of the modules for CMBN? MG? CW? It seems that the base game scenarios have uniform appearance set to standard for the 3 or 4 I checked. MAYBE MAYBE MAYBE the appearance setting was not a feature until later in the history of CM. Maybe your answers to the big questions above tells us if you are stuck in only seeing standard uniforms?
  15. No. Not flat out on all of them. IT DEPENDS! In a scenario or quick battle, the German infantry can have different appearance based on the editor settings. Sometimes they always wear the old tunic uniform like a jacket. You could have a million smock mods in your z and soldiers will ONLY wear tunics. But if appearance is set to mixed, then for the squad, some soldiers are finally wearing the smock, not all, just maybe like 50-50 or less. Do you know how to adjust unit appearance? Or try more scenarios as axis. It is popular that BFC scenario writes wanted to customers to see the historical smocks. Just start the scenario and during deployment go and see if any smocks are there. Damian's smocks looked very nice.

  17. I got confused on how you answered before. Maybe say again differently to confirm, I asked a few posts back, you said you did not see anybody in smocks? NO GERMAN INFANTRY SMOCKS SEEN AT ALL when you open a battle? True? A uniform mod only is seen when that uniform it is modding is normally on screen. Make sense?
