  1. Now on my plate is a Soviet campaign for Barbarossa. I have 2 of 3 battles doing ok but have hit a mental wall on the 3rd finale big battle. Then in the back of my mind I am working another campaign for play as axis and it is all big maps so I am dragging a$$ on that. Sometimes I jump on smaller projects just to get something out the door for IRS tax purposes. So, these old ASL scenarios can be nice to just smash out in a day or so. In that light, I have on my desk the scenario cards for THE HEDGEHOG OF PIEPSK (ASL SCENARIO D) and THE DEAD OF WINTER (ASL SCENARIO T6). I really wish some other guys would get the bug to crank out some Barbarossa scenarios! PM me if you want to semi-collaborate.
  2. Idea: are the German troops wearing smocks but just NOT the smocks you want to see? If NO, then this could be a scenario editor unit appearance setting issue.
  3. just the previous ones... barbarossa and earlystug ...for this scenario, the earlystug mod of the Stummel looking like the short barrel 75 StuG is a great move. You get the L24 gun with lots of HE rounds. There is no Soviet armor threat although the briefing does mention an ATR... I COULD/SHOULD have used the grossdeutschland uniform mod but I forgot... I blame it on my residuals of COVID!
  4. NEW SCENARIO IN MY GOODY BOX BARB SHKLOV's LABORS LOST ^ SHKLOV, RUSSIA. 11 July 1941. Shklov was a town along the main road to a bridge over the Dneiper River. Adapted from ASL Scenario T4. "In the town of Shklov, the German advance was frustrated by the determined defense of a handful of young Soviets. Skillfully using every advantage, the young officer cadets, known as "Stalin Scholars", were able to beat back the advance of the regular German forces. In order to break the deadlock, the Germans ordered the crack Infantry Regiment "Grossdeutschland" to clear the town." ^ You have about a company of Grossdeutschland elite infantry along with 2 HMG-34's. In support are two StugIII with short barrel 75mm guns with a supply of HE rounds. ^ After the first and second failed attempts to take the town, there are reports of only some heavy weapons such as machine guns and anti-tank rifles. No anti-tank guns have been detected. The cadet force is estimated at reduced company in size. ^ You have 15 minutes to accomplish your mission. Points are awarded for destroying enemy units but the key to victory is clearing out and occupying all the buildings in the Shklov town square. Hint: Hit alt-J to see them. Read the designer's notes to learn about the historical aftermath of this battle.
  5. You're probably staying in for New Years...just buy both modules!
  6. Vietnam veteran and drifter John J. Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) wanders into a small Washington town in search of an old friend, but is met with intolerance and brutality by the local sheriff, Will Teasle (Brian Dennehy). When Teasle and his deputies restrain and shave Rambo, he flashes back to his time as a prisoner of war and unleashes his fury on the officers. He narrowly escapes the manhunt, but it will take his former commander (Richard Crenna) to save the hunters from the hunted.
  7. You cheeky ba$tard! Just kidding. Of course you are smart to ask... R2V HAS 2 CAMPAIGNS THAT I SEE, BOTH MEDIUM R2V FIRST BLOOD AT CELLENO R2V OPERATION ENCORE
  8. FR has 5 new campaigns. FR BROKEN SHIELDS, MEDIUM FR NIGHT AT THE OPERA SOVIETS, LARGE FR NIGHT AT THE OPERA AXIS, LARGE FR BATTLE OF TUKUMS, HUGE FR TO BERLIN, MEDIUM ~~~~ AND A NEW COMMUNITY RELEASED CAMPAIGN FR BREAKTHROUGH TO KOVEL ~~~~~~~~~~ AND I AM WORKING ON SOME SMALL/TINY CAMPAIGNS FOR CMRT
  9. None of us can my friend. Saved games are not editable. Only the regular .btt files which are scenarios BEFORE play starts.
  10. Thank you sir. I appreciate the confirmation. Happy New Year 2022 to you.
  11. oh bummer, I never noticed before but the one "earlystug" mod based on the actual Stummel L/24 even with FULL ammo just doesn't have the ammo loadout we'd want to see! It only has 4 HEAT rounds, no AP, the rest is HE. I guess we must just use the "earlystug" based off a Blender Mod of the StugIII. You'll see a short barrel but have the physics of the normal StugIII. Here is where I call BFC and beg Santa Steve for a quick assist midnight patch!
  12. Here is my plan: I will make the scenario like a campaign with battle 1 being a player choice. They decide to use the earlystug mod version a or version b. THEN they get my scenario editor interpretation of the event. I am excited to see how the 2 versions compare...
  13. In some other army if you did not have a Knight's Cross...<paraphrasing in German accent> "I decided to pull back TWO KILOMETERS TO THE SOUTH TO GAIN A BETTER VANTAGE POINT for destroying the 18 enemy tanks..." will get you shot! but then again, to maneuver and end up alive with 6 kills is praiseworthy
  14. Wow, yes, it just goes on and on in detail and I did get confused after a while. Thanks for the back up assist! How to take all that and turn it into a scenario is a bit baffling. I might have to press the creative license override button and just make it a condensed version. This is kind of your Christmas present Gary, you inspired me to delve into this....so...you'd be ok with a condensed version my friend or what would you like to see?
  15. Honestly, you had me scratch my head IF I WAS REMEMBERING it right. I quick looked and pasted that blurb from the internet.
  16. Thanks much! I will break out some vodka and look it over
  17. An overlay, yes, I can see that. Reminds me of an old movie "Five Graves to Cairo" and the letters EGYPT on a map were where supplies had been buried by archaeologists before the war to help the DAK. Here is what I have so far from TRYING to turn written words into movements. On the 1931 maps this entire area is studded with huts/houses/dwellings. The written account describes just a wooded area with no mention of even encountering any huts or dwellings. I will do my best to make an entertaining fun scenario based off the suspect written account. Why not!
  18. I went off of what was in Lehmann's mapbook. It did seem to match a wikipedia article on 9th Mechanized Corps.
  19. @Heinrich505 Gary, if you have time, sometime soon, please crack open Simpson's book again and I will make a rough sketch of what I see as the map before I crank it out in the map editor. Your job is to double check me...
  20. Here is my plan: I will make the scenario like a campaign with battle 1 being a player choice. They decide to use the earlystug mod version a or version b. THEN they get my scenario editor interpretation of the event. I am now slowly re-reading the written account to guide my scenario editor efforts! STANDBY!
  21. No irrigation ditches or moats seen on the 1931 map...
