  1. So obviously there are no Europeans in the Peng Challenge thread so it is left to me to maintain the front pagedness from work.
  2. I have a Pegasus Bridge book as well but cannot remember who the author is, don't think it is Ambrose. Would be interesting to compare the 2
  3. Have a look here mate, all sort of official information from the time http://www.lonesentry.com/
  4. Here is the data on the Panzerscherk http://www.lonesentry.com/manuals/tme30/ch7sec2sub7.html And the bazooka http://www.lonesentry.com/manuals/bazooka/index.html I note that for the Bazooka you should not fire it if the ambient tempaature is above 120 Degrees F (48 Degrees C) and that: "Prior to Firing. Run a clean dry wiping cloth through the barrel until, by the appearance of the cloth, it is indicated that the film of oil has been removed from the bore." As the Panther is closing on your postion..........
  5. Can any of our German speaking mates tell us the literal meaning?
  6. The damage was probably caused by : "Quick Hans fire the Nahverteidi- " BANG ! "-gungs ....... oh never mind"
  7. Yeh, you'd reckon that makes more sense. I am just going off the graphic in the game with seemingly 2 heads poking out. So if your back that must mean the patch will be out soon !
  8. Mainly to keep us on the front page thought I'd point out that it is just Koala, they aren't bears.
  9. “The blood of the first Martyr has flowed,” the Richmond Daily Dispatch announced on May 27, 1861. Three days earlier Confederate partisan James Jackson had been killed in Alexandria, Va., by a Union soldier after Jackson shot and killed Union Col. Elmer Ellsworth, who had charged into Jackson’s inn to remove a Confederate flag atop the building. Arguably the first casualties of the war, Jackson and Ellsworth became celebrated martyrs for the respective Confederate and Union causes. “Glorious death!,” the Dispatch proclaimed of Jackson. “There exists not a mortal man in Virginia who does not envy his fate, who will not emulate his example, and who would not rather die than live to breathe an atmosphere polluted by such moral and social lepers as the degraded and murderous wretches whose hands are bathed in his heroic blood.” Is this how modern folks view the events of the time ?
  10. He goes back inside I reckon, that is what seems to happen in the animation
  11. Ah but you see with Red tanks that are opened up there is only one person, the commander with his head out. Abrams have 2 commander and loader. Four eyes better than 2 ?
  12. I'd reckon 11minutes is a pretty generous time to call in an unplanned fire mission, a hell of a lot goes on between "80 this is 20 Fire Mission over" and "Splash over" Check this out, a lot of info but in amongst it is a stack of gold on WW2 Yankee Arty http://www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/USA/ref/FM/PDFs/FM6-40.pdf
  13. Is enfilade fire modelled in CM ? Does it follow that if you shoot at a target 300m away everything else in between times cops it too ?
  14. Thanks for that update from Rosetown, Saskatchewan ......... 'NUFF SAID
  15. Of course not, you are 'Merkin and ergo have no understanding of the word.
  16. Things is tho' most of the SAS operations were many, many miles from Normandy. Not sure if such small unit ops would be modelled so well in CM:BN. In most of the missions they avoided contact and just blew up stuff or goaded the Frenchies into blowing up stuff, then the Germans found out about them rounded them up and shot them. You could maybe come up with some cool fictional small unit actions tho'
  17. Lay off? LAY .... OFF .... This is the Peng thread and you want us to LAY .... OFF ???? ok Hope everything sorts out for ya mate.
  18. Sad that what is really a brave act of self sacrifice is reported like a "fluff" piece
  19. I should hope not you have no time for that! We'll do all the smoking, drugging, drinkin' and womaning while we wait, now get back in the cave and CODE !
  20. http://www.lonesentry.com/manuals/german-infantry-weapons/mg42-machine-gun.html Is a pretty good run down on the MG42 and barrels etc
  21. No what I speak of has not been done by anyone why else would I be think it as being the future. I am talking more about an almost virtual reality type of experience where you actually interact with the game as you would other humans. For example to order a platoon to do something you actually talk a Pl Comd AI Avatar that then goes off and attacks the hill or whatever. Either way it is not about my vision I am interested in what you all think the game will look like in 10 to 15 years
