I don't want to be the engineer going under the footbridge, lol! But wow, good fit on the stone bridge.

Stoppel, I like your work. Great stuff! Could you do some uniforms for the Herman Goering Fallschirm-Panzer Division based on their summer/desert sand-colored uniforms they wore in Tunis and Sicily? sdp did a great set of uniforms for the HG F-P Division for his Italian Mod, but it doesn't include any sand/dust/dun colored stuff, and I'd like to add a little variety that mod.

Bring it on that, Fuser!

Fabulous, sdp. Great job as usual.

That's gonna hurt.

OK, thanks. I'd been messing more with hue and saturation without getting the result I was looking for. -
Three-squad Para platoons, myth? Or fact?

Steve, I notice that dangerous trend sburke spotted yesterday is continuing unabated today. Stop it, or next thing you know, we'll be having a group hug. -
1. Scout, scout, scout 2. Flank, flank, flank 3. Smoke, smoke, smoke (a cigarette while your shermans light up as well, but better yet, lay smoke when you can)

Okay, will do. What about the trees and bushes? Are those a mod? They look just the right color to me. -

Fuser, what desaturation mod are you using, or have you just set your monitor settings to get that subdued greenery? I like it. -

Fuser, I'm at work so can't check, but did you send this to me? I think I volunteered earlier, but if not, I am now. -

Boy I second that. Thanks Steve and BFC! -
I've read Nordyke, so I always throw in a Bar team in a AB platoon. I didn't dilly-dally from the get-go, and although I haven't finished it yet, things are going pretty good. I like smaller battles like this where I can watch the action better, and get to know my guys, so to speak. Nicely done scenario!

I went to play DeSavage's sharp little battle "Mouse Trap," and though it took me a while, I finally noticed that the bazooka team and one scout team were wearing the US infantry uniform, not the Paratrooper threads. I thought maybe Desavage had inadvertently chosen specialist teams from a regular infantry formation, but after a half dozen tests, it wasn't him. It's either a post-patch bug or my system has gone all barmy and such. [sorry I ever doubted you, Desavage, you never let us down before.] Imade a new battle file, chose a Paracute battalion, got rid of everything but an HQ, then chose Specialist Teams (from airborne infantry), starting at the top of the list and purchasing one of each from the top down. Then deployed them. I did this 5 times. The first team of any that have more than one option, like scouts or bazookas, is in the parachute uniform, and other teams of that type are in the infantry uniform. Single teams, like the BAR, are in the infantry uniform only. The ones that get the wrong uniform are: scout team 2 FO team 2 sniper team 2 light mortar and bearers 57mm and bearers .50 cal hvy mg BAR team bazooka teams 2 and 3 breach team 2 Is this a post-patch bug?

It would be possible to plot the waypoints...
mjkerner replied to GI Adelscott's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Never thought of it before, but that would be a nice fix for snipers, BAR teams, and small MG teams. -
rocketman, all in good time. I haven't started the street layout, the buildings, or the road up the mountain face...my goal is to try to have it finished in maybe 3-4 months, my target date for the Commonwealth module. Erwin, Roger that. I will "chunk off" the RR Station and have the Maori battalion's February attack on it as a separate scenario. TheMarch attack from the north probably won't feature that southern area of the town. Mind you, this all may go to dust if I can't get the map right and look good. But maybe some testers will help out when the time comes.

Suggestion for some "eye-catching" units in CMBN
mjkerner replied to Shorker's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
But the Moari Haka is pretty deadly. At least to opposing soccer teams. -
Fuser, as it stands, it's about 1600m x 1600m and includes (E-W) Castle Hill to the Rapido, and (N-S) the RR station to that 90 degree bend in the Rapido north of the town. It wasn't too hard to get the landmarks laid out--Castle Hill, the Nunnery, RR Station, abn Hotel Continental, and I have quite a few aerial photos and pencil drawings of the town just before the Third battle--Google was mostly worthless for determining the size and layout of the town in Jan-May 1944. Thankfully, it was much, much smaller than it is today. What I'm worried about is how this will play out, since rubbling is not modeled well IMHO in CMBN, and not sure the Fallschirmjaegers are going to get as good protection from the destroyed buildings as was historically the case. Broadsword, sorry, I didn't mean to hijack this thread.
