  1. In CMx2 (not CMSF unfortunately) there has been for some time now an "artificially bright night lighting mode" or somesuch, I don't remember exactly when it was introduced, might have been 2.0. Night battles used to be impossible to see and play but this feature is awesome, it doesn't affect the game in any way but it makes it much easier for the player to see what is going on.
  2. This guy is either a troll or has a serious attitude problem. Perhaps both. "you could only come up with two campaigns?" & "all we got were two campaigns." and then cries that someone else should learn how to treat people. What a douche, good riddance.
  3. I have to say I'm digging those Skeletor masks that Iraqi special forces seem to love.
  4. Most games sidestep these issues by simply saying "f*** it" and going with borg spotting. Relative spotting is such a rare breed that I will happily choose it even with it's issues.
  5. Arrogant posters getting slammed is part of the reason why this forum is so great. If you let them continue their merry ways you will end up like any other forum on the net. Or maybe you don't consider it offensive when you spend your precious free time working on something and a random guy bumbles along and says "You could only come up with this?"
  6. It's not surprising at all if you've ever worked in software development. Time is better spent actually trying to hit the moving target instead of talking about hitting the moving target. BFC doesn't have dedicated PR personnel.
  7. This is not quite correct, the majority of Soviet tanks have been scrapped. Leopard 2A4s and hopefully in the future 2A6s form the armoured force. Swedish CV90 IFVs but also a lot of BMP-2s.
  8. Somewhat failed attempt at guerrilla marketing. If you were a regular forum poster this might be plausible, but this as a first post? Reported.
  9. Looks really nice, but I myself don't have the necessary hardware to run mammoth scenarios and I'm tied up with another fun project. Beta testing colossal H2H scenarios might be scary due to the fact that it is a long-term commitment with a chance of it all going to waste due to the beta aspect. Kinda like marrying a girl you've never banged. That being said, I hope you find testers ASAP.
  10. Yes, it is in the works and I would guess out sooner rather than later.
  11. It's true. And it's on purpose. The game is made by Americans that try to alter history by downplaying the heroic efforts of engineers of the Reich. (Almost without exception in my games MG42s rack up the largest casualty counts after direct and indirect HE)
  12. It's just bad CGI. Most media these days is all about click-whoring and should be treated as such.
  13. Like you said , not in the historical timeframe. I would love to have the gargantuan Ultralobster included for some Antarctic expedition battles but alas.
  14. Huh? A battle can be set to start an hour before sunrise. You can even edit this one to suit your taste. I made a battle in CMFI where you had to make your way up a mountain to take out some guns before the sun rises since you were a sitting duck for MGs when the LOS improved.
  15. I think it's all reasonably "balanced" in the sense that the Bazooka and the PIAT were somewhat crud. Better than nothing at all, but still. AFAIK in reality crazy Ivan would use the antitank rifles to shoot out prisms, vision blocks, cupolas, radio antennas and even plink away at the tracks but the AI in CM isn't sophisticated enough for point targeting so we just have to rely on blind luck when hail-firing. Soviets enjoy a lot better vehicle mounted weaponry to deal with big cats, even the bread & butter T-34/85 is a threat to Tigers and Panthers frontally and King Tigers from the side. Use AT rifles to button up and annoy tanks while you sneak antitank teams with RPG-43 AT grenades or pioneers to blow them up. You might even get lucky with a flamethrower. As a sidenote, I have a feel that Panzershrecks are now more accurate than ever and feel like a real threat but this is just an itch in the bum with no substantial testing behind it.
  16. So, it's Veterans' Day in Finland and in a celebratory fashion they released a bunch of new color photos. http://sa-kuva.fi/webneologineng.html Pilot takes a selfie Tasty! In action
  17. Shipped disks are so 2002. Then again, you are the king of retro.
  18. I'd be willing to say it's a safe bet we won't be seeing anything more added to CMSF by BFC. But, since there has been talk about CMSF2...A man can dream, can't he?
  19. SMG infantry and heavy calibre assault guns. SU-122/SU-152/ISU-152. Make sure you have some T-34/85s for anti-tank engagements though. IS-2s also work well. Flamethrowing OT-34s are great for clearing buildings. SU-76s are very vulnerable in urban environments due to the open top. The crew will likely end up shot from someone up high in a vantage point.
  20. I thought that is what the "Region: Eastern Europe" setting is for.
  21. I think you are overestimating the molotov. A bottle doesn't hold all that much flammable liquid and the main reason they worked early in the war was poorly designed engine compartments which was fixed in later designs. Compare the amount of fuel a flamethrower projects to what a bottle holds.
  22. It's a good thing I am in the process of regrowing my moustache.
  23. AFAIK only effective against obsolete early war designs or something with an open top. I personally would like FTs to be a bit more effective, but not the the extent they were in IIRC Close Combat 3 or somesuch in which it a single short burst of flame would K-kill even a heavy tank.
