  1. Ok great. I mean.. it doesnt even have to be complicated (like switching MGs between squads, which may not be trained to use them) but I should be able to trade javelin ammo (if nothing else) .. or at least put it back in the stryker so someone else can take it. Of course that begs the question of someone using it as an exploit and giving one squad one launcher and 18 javelins... I recall that weight carried has an effect on the squad, but I'm not sure if that degree of 'excess' is modeled/prevented.
  2. Two quick questions: In the 4th (?) mission in the campaign where you have to cross phase line alpha, bravo, charlie, I got across Alpha, and occupied the village at the end, but I did not get credit.. any reason people know? Seems you just have to cross the line of advance. Second: If one unit has a Javelin launcher, and another unit has Javelin ammo (I forgot to get the launcher for them and the stryker was destroyed) can I trade the ammo/launcher ?? I thought I could use another stryker to "un-aquire" the Jav launcher/ammo but no luck. I couldnt put the stuff back.
  3. I dunno I'd like to know too.. I can run Crysis at near full graphics yet CMSF is reduced to a slide show unless all the details are turn down
  4. Hi all I have been away for a bit so I havent read the forum in regards to the campaign and premade maps. Has the AI placement of units during setup been fixed since 1.06? Some people had reported some strange behaviors on a couple of the early campaign missions.. was that fixed? Thanks
  5. I agree with you guys that there may be multiple things going on with the StratAI, but if the sole objective (as judged by the points distribution at the end of the scenario) is to take out the tank, then I am not exactly sure what the AI gains by hanging onto a sector that is uncontested and gives it no victory points. Its the Baker one scenario that comes with the game, so anyone can try it out.
  6. How about just a basic TacAI fix where it doesnt sit on its keister doing nothing when it should be at least trying to achieve its objective ?
  7. In the mission with saving the burning tank at night. I am able to drive my Strykers (not through the trees) but down the roads, passed the compound area which apparently contains dozens of enemy troops, and rendezvous with the M1 abrams. What irritates me, is that the troops in the compound area never make an attempt to move towards the objective (M1 abrams). So far, they just sit there. There is some effort on the part of the AI to make half hearted attacks against the disabled tank from other directions, but like half his troops are still just sitting around doing nothing.
  8. It'll be done when its done I assume? Anyone know if it will be out by the weekend?
  9. This should have been a headline story for all of september on the major us news networks.. funny thing is no one I know knows anything about it.. so sad
  10. I think the invasion may have to be postponed until our armor crews work on their pathfinding abilities ;P
  11. Actually, the story (as a whole) IS reported by the BBC, and has been developing for some time now. Just like is typical of american politics in world war 2, welcome to the party lads.. just a little late.. again. The commando raid isnt reported yet, but everything else is: It started with Syria complaining to the UN about an airspace violation, but neither side admitted to the true extent what happened (for obvious reasons) - Sept 6 - http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6981674.stm http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6989961.stm With a great story http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7000717.stm There are plenty more on BBC, as this story (was and is) being updated every couple days. Again, people are obviously trying to keep this secret, but I love how no one in the US is really reporting this for how truly amazing this is. This is almost on the same scale as Israel's operation to take out the Iraqi nuclear plant a decade or two ago. New York times reported on it too http://www.nytimes.com/2007/09/18/world/asia/18korea.html?ref=world I don't have time to do everyone's google work for them.. its just sad that if its on Fox News, it cant be right. I guess Dan Rather is the voice of truth then? Oh thats right, he doesn't have a job because he made up crap about Bush. But back to the issue- the implications are amazing: -a syrian nuclear facility was destroyed, with the samples and equipment -14 north korean nuclear specialists-operatives were eliminated in the strike. We are led to believe the strike was held until all the elements were in the same place so that everything could be dealt with in one blow. But thats okay guys ! Lets crawl back into our little isolationist hole and pretend nothing is going on. I suppose the BBC, NY times, and dozens of other news agencies (which have reported this story) all could be wrong. But then again, I guess everyone claimed the holocaust didn't really happen either until the tanks rolled through the camps and saw it first hand. Again, welcome to the party, boys.. 12. Ya.. I am running at 12 fps +/- on scenarios regardless of resolution or AA/Aniso with max textures and max quality.. The FPS should be skyhigh with the textures and quality maxed, regardless of AA/Aniso.. the graphics, while complex, aren't much compared to other games where I'm getting flawless framerates.
  13. Just curious if the 8800 issues will be improved upon in the upcoming patch. I am running XP SP2 so the vista slow down fixes don't help me. I should be able to run this game with pretty high graphics but Im consistently at about 12 fps. This is on a AMD X2 4800+ with 2 gigs memory Or is this an nvidia driver issue?
  14. I take that back.. retested and the best that I can do with a 8800 GTX ultra is 1280x960 balanced/balanced before it starts bogging down.. this is without any AA or aniso. Definitely a bug.
  15. Athlon 64 x2 4800+, 2 Gb RAM, 8800 GTX, 1600 x 1200 all maxed = 13-14 fps... stays at this no matter what i do to AA and aniso, incl. when i turn them down... theres a 8800 bug tho i think
  16. I almost wet myself laughing as i downloaded these ! LOL
  17. Should be any minute now... anyone got links?
  18. hehe that would kill me.. but what kills me more is that i have to go to a wedding away from home til monday eve, so i wont be home to test out the new patch
  19. Please post in here as they become available. That is all.
  20. Well I for one, although I consider myself a core customer and diehard wargamer, followed the laws of gaming. I played CMBO a LOT. I played CMBB a moderate amount as some of the battles were hugh and tedious with WEGO (I also couldn't decide who I hated more, the russians or the germans), and I bought CMAK. I state bought CMAK because I hardly played it.. It just turned out that I didn't care too much about desert warfare and cared even less about italy. I personally liked CMBB the most as it spanned the longest time period, contained many pieces of interesting equipment and had matched (=/-) airforce and artillery. So some core customers like myself had our interest drop off. And let me just say, I REALLY prefer RT because I can pause whenever I want, issue orders, and continue. I ALWAYS pause when issuing orders, so it becomes essentially like WEGO minus the replays. So I really dont understand people's complaints (minus the ability to watch replays).
  21. Panzer brings up an interesting point. At least the AI in CMx1 moved their units. CMSO I consistently run into more than half (if not all) of the AI units still sitting in their deployment zone.. I always love that feeling when I find out I have wasted 30 mins of my day when I realize the AI is still in the deployment zone.
  22. ?? For AI that sits in its deployment zone in 33% of the battles when its not defending? (I'm not talking QBs either) Hardly. But it does have potential for when its fixed.
  23. No its not.. but then again, I'm not quoting wildly fictional movies or something that I believe to be untrue. I just don't believe an argument that MG42s were never deployed inside houses.
