  1. Just trying to figure out if I detect a slight delay or irregularity in the loading of the main battlefront.com page (I have the timing memorized by now) will it mean that the demo is released? Of course, the message should be right there on the page once the page loads, but I am trying to pre-empt that by detecting subtle irregularities in the matrix.
  2. I wonder who is going to be the FIRST to see the news that the demo is released? Can you believe it ?! There will be a 'first' ! It might even be YOU, refresh monkey.
  3. I think they are shooting for a June 6 release.. V-JayJay day.
  4. Actually it really doesn't depend on what timezone you live in. I thought you all learned in 1944 that what's most important is the yanks. All that matters is US Eastern standard time. The rest of you can convert from GMT. I'm sure Steve has some plan.. perhaps they want a morning release so that they have time to work out any kinks in the distribution system? Or perhaps a 5pm release would work well after they have had all day to set up for it ? Would be nice to know
  5. Will the demo release announcement be an automated post that happens on midnight of the day prior to release? Or will there simply be a post in the morning? Or is it going to occur at the end of the workday? Would be nice to know so that we don't have to keep hammering the site every hour from work seeing if there has been an update.
  6. Agreed. If there is no release this week, it would be nice to at least hear 'not this week guys'
  7. No.. factories ARE included in CMN.. read the building creation tool instructions. You can create buildings without interior partitions, allowing for open interiors for visibility and engagement. Interior obstructions and cover are abstracted, much like the "1st floor" of a building isn't one large open space, rather a series of rooms and connections. The interior is just abstracted, which is fine.
  8. That's precisely and exactly what he said. If there was a week before release, then he would have said "Go to them sometime in the next week and see what the deal is". But that ISN'T what he said. In fact, he went out of his way to say when you wake up "tomorrow", go straighten your stuff out. That heavily implies, without directly saying it, that tomorrow is the last day before release. Much like when we said "We thank Pakistan for its help in securing Osama" we were heavily implying that they were complicit in hiding him the whole time.
  9. Well obviously the demo wasn't released yesterday (was it ?!? did I miss it!?!? lemme check.. whew no). But his statement is pretty strongly and accurately worded. Clear as day, check tomorrow and cancel or else you are screwed. Why would that be? Because we are shipping the following day (Thurs). He could have told him to check in the next couple days or in the next week, but he specifically told him he only has tomorrow to make up his mind !!!!
  10. Read here- In response to when you need to cancel orders before the game ships: "My advice is to get the information tomorrow and then make a decision."-Steve http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=96343 That strongly implies to me the release date, perhaps ship date, is Wed or Thurs of this week. I suppose if Steve is saying get the information tomorrow, that implies that the ship date is probably not Wed, but rather Thurs, so that the OP has just enough time to cancel. But if the demo is to preceed the game release, then a Wed demo release, Thurs ship date seems strongly implied.
  11. I think they heavily implied in another thread that the demo release is Wed or Thurs. My bet is Wed (tomorrow)... but the wording better described Thursday.
  12. Feel free to ship the game to me and I will send it as a person to person 'gift' with a delcared value of $1. I would charge a small processing fee of say 4 pounds, but its cheaper than paying import duties
  13. I would love to image this.. I really would. Somehow I think that releasing the game and/or demo would help my imagination be more vivid !!
  14. I thought it was relatively easy maintaining mortar C2 ?? It seems all they have to do is be close to an HQ unit and either have the HQ or a FO call in indirect fire ? Seems simple enough. Guess I will have to wait to find out
  15. Ok true .. it is probably just the sight settings that is confusing me. But I agree with Elmar, since its just a game, and not real life, why not provide the 'game data' such as maximum range (range beyond which they will not fire) and effective range.
  16. Yes, that had me confused at first. But even using the same round, the Thompson should be far more accurate as I mentioned above.
  17. The 9mm round is that much more accurate in this short barreled submachine gun? I would be surprised to hit anything accurately beyond 50m with this gun.. Even 50m is pushing it for little more than suppressive fire. I would think the Thompson would be more accurate (assuming both are loaded with 45 ACP) given the lower recoil, longer bore, stock, etc.
  18. Just remember the M21 only has a small capacity.. 5 passengers if I remember correctly. Not full squad sized.
  19. The manual lists the M3 as having an effective range of close to 100m .. what? Twice the range of the Thompsons. Is this true? This blows my perception of the M3 if so.
  20. Ah good point Gunner. I thought the disclaimer only applied to the M4A1, but you are correct, it also applies to the M21. There are 5 crew slots in the M21, so does the CREW dismount and have the mortar as equipment (used as a regular mortar) or does the vehicle include a vehicle crew and a weapons team ? The implication being the halftrack could move away if it was still manned by a vehicle crew and the mortar dismounted.
  21. Along the same lines, how is the M4A1 mortar halftrack used since the mortar cannot be fired from within the vehicle. Does the M4 simply come with a mortar team? If so, then why does its ammo count show HE ammo (or is this simply a supply of ammo for the infantry mortar team)
  22. How will the M21's be used? In other words, how is their functionality? Will it be like a direct fire unit in which we will select the M21, then select a target? Or will it be in the OnCall artillery window? Or will it function identical to a mortar, in other words, we can place it beside a building then place a spotter on the top floor, allowing the M21 to use indirect fire?
  23. Silly rabbit.. Nvidia is for kids. ATI is much superior, of course. 6970 is whisper quiet (can't even tell the computer is on most of the time) and smokingly fast. And since its so quiet, you can Crossfire 2 of them and still have a quiet computer.
  24. So the final answer is that the demo and final game are not compatible. Demo battles can only be multiplayered with other demo copies. Correct?
