  1. The AGS- 17 grenade launchers don't have any ammo. The gunner fires his AK instead. They worked in 1.01 just fine. Now they don't.

  4. Well, I'm happy to see that the beta is over. I'll be ordering the game when it comes out Enormous improvement in FPS. I can do BM-21 bombardments on big maps without lag. It used to cause slideshow- framerate. Now it flies. [ August 31, 2007, 11:25 AM: Message edited by: thelmia ]
  5. http://www.gamersgate.com/patches/CMSF_Patch_103.exe Thanks!
  6. Heh. I shouldn't buy games from them. I hate waiting.
  7. I love it. It's just not the same kind of game. I've been playing since closed alpha. I will say that it runs flawlessly with very good graphics. They got the maximum FPS out of their code. It's a team RTS, which is something new and different. There's no resource mining, just fighting. It's not really fair to trash it to make CMSF look good. They're both good, and I have to say that WiC was thoroughly tested before release. That's my spiel, until this gets deleted.
  8. I'm a real time junky and I micromanage. I'm fine with just turning it off. I supervise 40mm expenditure, and blowing up a building is a big event for me. But hey, I play World in Conflict to relax.
  9. From reading the Russian General Staff report on Afghanistan I learned that the BTR was considered superior to the BMP. It was a lot faster and carried more men, and was easier to maintain.
  10. Much better than mine! I've made a whole section of Aleppo off of Google Earth. I love the editor.
  11. Never is a long time. Al Qeada certainly does their best. I think they're finally paying for it. It's counterproductive unless you want to rule by terror. That certainly works in the Middle East (Hama in 1982 is a example, as is what happened in Iraq in 1991) but isn't an option for us since we don't really want to be there. We want to do a job and leave. Terror against civilians is counterproductive toward that end, besides being wrong! On topic, I've already started modding scenarios. The US is well endowed with firepower, but I can't really see leveling entire towns as realistic.
  12. Go for Syrian surrender. Kill them all so you don't have to fool with storming buildings. Arty + Javelins = win. Just blow up whatever building they are hiding in. I got by with 4 killed I think.
  13. All the Stryker units were light infantry. That means nothing but trucks and Humvees. Now they have Strykers. That's an improvement. One thing I notice is that soldiers actually seem to ride inside Strykers. In Vietnam they rode on top of M113s because it was safer. Mines would kill you if you were inside. This makes me think that they must be doing something right. I fooled with the M113 in the National Guard, and the Stryker has got to be better than that. There were patches in the side of some of them where bullets had come through in Vietnam. Truly ancient vehicles.
  14. Gotta be a government operation. I guess it's because the gun is external, i.e outside the hull. I'd still try to find a way to put some ammo racks in the back.
  15. I'd like to take a moment to say that I love the editor. I can get on Google Earth, find an interesting place, and make a map that looks like it. Aleppo
  16. I fooled with this. The BM-21 does fire, eventually. I think what's happening is that the BM-21 takes so long to reload after firing a spotter round that it's sometimes 20 minutes before it fires for effect. If it has to spot more than once it's even longer. I wonder how this is dealt with in RL, or if they even bother firing spotting rounds at all. Perhaps they don't reload after spotting, but just fire the rest of the rack. That might be a good way to handle this in game so the BM-21 can be used effectively after setup.
  17. It wasn't an ATGM was it? The t-55MV can fire those.
  18. Yeah, I wonder about that, too. 105 rounds aren't that big, are they? Or is a Stryker much smaller than I think? The last APC I was around was an M113... It is good against tanks. I think it's the same tank gun that the M60 used, which works fine against Russian tanks. Just be careful to fire first. Here's the howitzer round... I'm looking for the tank round. Aha. BTW he's Canadian ^ [ August 26, 2007, 09:49 AM: Message edited by: thelmia ]
  19. I fixed it by downloading the newest forceware. http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp
  20. My Syrian snipers only seem to engage targets at less than 100m.... seems kinda backward. Gamersgate version 1.02
  21. Thanks for the update. I'm glad you guys are so responsive. I want this thing to work. It's a great game in there trying to get out.
  22. Windows XP Media Center edition version 2002 sevice pack 2 Pentium 830d dual core 2 gigs RAM 2 nVidia 7800 GTX cards SLI forceware 162.18 fastest/fastest on settings Not terrible frames, but much worse than I would expect. Really can't play on any of the higher settings due to lag. Horrific multiplayer lag, maybe related?
  23. Hmm, try targeting during setup. It's spectacular. I've had it fire during missions, but I've also seen it sit there and spot for a long time. It MIGHT be because it's so inaccurate that normal spotting simply doesn't work.
