  1. Yeah, I'd like replay a lot. One of the coolest things about CM was being able to go back and see what happened. You could actually watch the whole battle without having to be everywhere at once. I find myself looking at a burning tank and wondering how that happened.
  2. I get it when the Stryker moves out before the squad is finished loading. Then the squad is stuck inside the Stryker, except for the poor guy left behind. I can't dismount or pick up the lost sheep.
  3. Vehicle collisions throwing off treads. Ooops, bad driving. Saggers having a minimum range, and being shown up by an RPG. Airburst mortar shells owning entire hordes. And the Mk19. Wow. Oh yeah, the Toyotas. I love these things. If there's no .50 cal around they own infantry.
  4. I'm OK with the RT change, because multiplayer took too long. I would like a better interface. It's a tiny bit too clunky. I play CM to fight other people. The RT change makes that easier. It's still a sim. If you want to see what a modern RTS would look like, check out World in Conflict when it comes out. CMSF is much, much more cerebral than that. The Tac AI on the old CM games was pretty good, and it allowed really large battles. The controlling AI (whatever it was called) was still not that bright. It's even dumber in SF. Again, that's not why I play. People are much more challenging. I still have CMAK, and I imagine that I'll still be playing it. If you really hate SF, then just pretend it never came out. And that you spent the money on beer and strippers.
  5. Maybe the devs should let purchasing be moddable. Then the players can decide how much everything is worth. It'll get resolved pretty quickly.
  6. Milan ATGMs were used in the Falklands to kill Argentine bunkers. TOWs are used all the time in Iraq. TOWs were used by the 82nd Airborne to shoot up Uday and Qusay's hideout back in 2003. There's a long tradition of using weapons outside of their intended role, and if it kills the enemy, who cares? How much do you think airstrikes cost? A Javelin is a bargain.
  7. I don't mind RTS because the tac AI isn't up to WEGO. Units can be relied on to fire, but that's about it. They need their hands held, especially compared to the old games. When we add in that WEGO is gone from multiplayer, and the AI is really dumb, WEGO is pretty much dead. The interface is a bit clunky for an RTS. A right click move with a menu for speed would be nice.
  8. It was an SLI driver issue. I got new forceware and it fixed it. The down arrow now appears exactly as you describe. And I can click on units. This game will now be much more fun.
  9. I don't get the down arrow when I mouse over the APC. I can get the unit to load, but only by repeatedly telling it to move onto the space the APC occupies. Eventually it works. I have the same problem with buildings. It seems like I am missing a cursor. Also, is there a better way to click on units? I can only click on the arrows along the top of the screen, or shift-click-drag. Both are clumsy.
