  1. Good news for those interested in our riverine concept (@General Jack Ripper).....'Wai-Bong Bay' will definitely work: With some more tweaking you will soon be able to get your infantry to more or less anywhere on those islands, regardless of how steep they are! PS - Don't worry, that boat (BMP) still can't get out of the water.
  2. I'd kind of like to see Conqueror & M103 in a face off with IS-3M & T-10.....It's one of the 'Trackhead Great Debates'.....Maybe in a future module, eh?
  3. That was my suggestion for a Casus Belli for a WWIII starting in 1999.....Not the whole bloody war!
  4. Their main job is to Acquire ammunition from their transport vehicle when used by a human.
  5. The designer does not need to place the guns outside a setup zone, just placing them on the map and ignoring them does the trick.....Once you start adding AI Setup Orders to their group things can go wrong. Trust me, I know what I'm doing!
  6. If we're adding extra theatres of war, I'd nominate Afghanistan (Real 1978-1992) & Iran (Fictional 1982-2000). I'm just taking the first steps on a map of Dasht e-Emam, a small town on the highway north of Bandar Abbas using the NTC mapping tools.....Will probably need mods for best effect, but fortunately I know a man who's very good with those.
  7. These are my preferred solutions.....AI Slot 1 is traditionally my 'fixed defenders'.
  8. You could do it by putting all the guns in one AI group & the Ammo Bearers in another, then give them identical painted setups as above (paint just one tile per unit).....You couldn't guarantee to get the right ammo team with the right gun, but you should get one of each at each location.
  9. Fairly sure @chuckdyke doesn't write scenarios.....The TacAI will leave Ammo Bearers exactly where the designer put them unless the player's actions or an AI Plan Order causes them to move. In the event that they are forced to move away from their gun, the AI does not have a means of returning them to their position, nor could it easily be done through AI Plan Orders. TBH I often find @chuckdyke's posts a little opaque.
  10. Maybe you could configure the Ajax to work like jamming.....But affecting friendly units, including (especially) units in voice contact?
  11. TBH I find that concept morally repugnant.....It's about as appealing to me as playing the Khmer Rouge.
  12. Sorry, what's that? Can't hear a bloody thing over that Ajax!
  13. This article (& those it links to) is well worth a look for anyone interested in the ideology driving the Taliban: https://consortiumnews.com/2021/08/30/the-talibans-ideological-roots-in-colonial-india/ "Saudi leaders, in fact, used the influence of their money to push their own interpretation of Islam – Wahhabism – at the Deobandi madrassas. Wahhabism is a deeply conservative form of Islam that believes in a literal interpretation of the Quran. At this point, the Deobandi madrassas moved far away from their religious roots."
  14. The news from, the normally extremely reliable, Long War Journal is equally gloomy: https://www.longwarjournal.org/archives/2021/09/taliban-completes-conquest-of-afghanistan-after-seizing-panjshir.php Poor bloody Afghanistan!
  15. Don't suppose you have any maps from the project? I find the tile-set in CM:A the hardest to use in a satisfying way.....They don't really blend very well and the random splatter technique, so prominent in the stock maps, seems to be the way forward, but it's a bit of a chore to do!
  16. The Germans dropped without most of their gear on Crete, IIRC on the first day they lost almost as many men recovering their gear as they did using it.
  17. TBH the idea has some potential for counter-terrorist or other unusual scenario concepts.....Complete the mission before the Triggerman spawns/moves, or the reactor melts-down/the bomb goes off/the volcano gods become angry! PS - Yes the last one has actually been discussed!
  18. The Taliban are playing about with tanks in Panjshir: Let's hope that goes as well for them as it did for the Soviets. More: https://anna--news-info.translate.goog/taliby-vedut-boi-na-podstupah-k-tsentru-pandzhshera/?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en-GB&_x_tr_pto=ajax,elem
  19. No T-80s. But I can't disagree that 1999 is pushing it from a Cold War perspective.....It's spot on for putative WWIIIs though.
  20. And now for something completely different....The new mountains mod set has done wonders for an older map:
  21. Cheers, I'm following your own similar projects with some interest.....If I weren't so wrapped up with H&E I'd love to have a go at making a map of Maleme (the Maleme campaign for CM:AK was always one of my favourites and the map was really well done for its day).
  22. Blasting your way into compounds occupied by Uncons got a lot more dangerous ever since Battlefront made it possible to put IEDs into buildings without requiring any mapping or scripting trickery: Just saying.
