Wow, there is a lot of Iron on that Ranger. He has really trhown me off my time tabel with excellent defense near Leningrad and OKH has packed it in for the winter to rebuild. The British are about make a run across Lybia while my africa corps starts to incorporate the middle east. The Wermacht and minor troops had to fight off a couple of raids during these hectic months....

OKH made the gamble and launched Barbarossa in the 3rd week of June. This occurred as the Africa Korps was taking Egypt. Riga fell in the Frist turn. Odessa was heavily damaged and corp was retreated. Mines and Kiev taken on the second Turn and Minsk under assault. Stalin lanuched a surprise assault on the Finns, good intial placement by Finns kept the Soviet armies away from Helsinki and Mannerheim. A reserve corp was sent from the German Army to help protect the sovereignty of the Finnish people. More to come tonight hopefully.... The aixs combined arms has caused the defeat/ withdrawal of British units from Egypt. The Axis forces have crossed the Suez in route to cross the Sinai desert to free the subjugated peoples of Iraq, as well as to add their precious crude to our war effort and maybe cause the Soviets some concern. Meanwhile the treacherous Churchill has subjugated new peoples by attacking the Vichy Algeria and the poor Cosicans, including the French end of the island. (Confused by that as this should be a war and Vichy France on my side) Mussolini failed miserable trying to amphib Tunisia. Maybe lack of supply in Tripoli, both units had morale in 70s and readiness in the 90s. So great in the east and terrible west of North Africa. The Italian navy lost another CC in battle with 2 British BBs. America started her aid to Britain as Egypt fell. More later on the Barbarossa beginings and the traiterous assualt on poor Finland after the embarassing Winter War.

Units also have to be out of enemy zone of control and have a supply of 6 to recieve elite reinforcements. Welcome to the neighborhood, you will meet some interesting individuals...

With Rambo--- Patton anywhere, he could motivate troops... Either side in the Desrt war of North Africa, last gentleman's war... Flying Biplanes in WWI would have been very exciting. Would have been neat to fly SR-71 on a spy mission. Along side the "Old Guard" in Napoleon's Grand Armee. Wiht most of the generals of the Civil war either side, both had their share of bold and daring leaders. Nice call by Arado 234, an ME262 with nothing but prop planes around would have been neat to say the least... Could probable go on for hours with this subject, Hannibal, Caesar, Frederick the Great, Washington, Alexander the Great, .....

Yeah he damaged defending corp but they held and I rushed in the reinforcements...

I am in a game where I was assaulting Paris and the Axis player in a bid to flank my forces attacked Vichy France. The Vichy held and I rushed in reinforcments to hold it. Now I have a liberated France, capital of Paris(20mpps) and an Allied Vichy France with capital of Marseilles(20mpps. Is this normal, would France not just reunite after both sides in the war???

Has been an interesting war so far. Described very accurately by Iron Ranger. After chasing the British bomber out of Malta, all unit with speed to join Runstedt's Task force that relieved El Aghelia. After some positioning and running the British invasion force away from Tobruk, The fortress of El Alamein almost falls in one turn do to massive air onslaught. Game was put on hold for the evening. The Italians lost a BB while trying to helpt he Air power reduce Malta...

No dumb questions on this forum, all plyers I have played and do play have been extremely cool about answering questions. Even doing so in games that are up in the air. It is what makes this game, its designer(Hubert Cater) and the whole SC2 family so great. The mediators have to close a post once in while, but who cares even those are fun to read. Overall best thing I have been invovled in for awhile. Guys all over the world enjoying a game and some BS. Anyway I ramble, ....

Thanks Stalins Organ. V-2 were a credible threat to the war effort. Imagine them starting a hair earlier and actually devoloping a better gyro(guidance system). Some accuracy could have caused some major issues. Another post earlier stated the bombs used by allies were cheaper. Cheaper in cost of bomb only, add in the bombers, bomber ground crews, fuel, mg ammo, airfields thier upkeep, the fighters and their techs their airfields their crews and the training for all of them and the supply line to keep all them flying and you will understand how much cheaper it was to build a missle out of non-critical material, and launch it from a ramp. Germany had jets in fall of 39 and could have had jet fighters in '41 and rockets the same year, thanks to their leaders they tried to build a navy instead. Otherwise all those wasted resources could have built a lot of war items. Just my 2 cents....

First this is not a complaint, just a question. In a current mirror mode, my oppenent has bought two german paratroops and the third shows up like normal in the build. I played computer and was able to repeat this. It shows -1 in my build table for paratroops. Should this happen? Is an excellent strategy by my friend, but now changes games greatly, as three powered up paras for Germans is dangerous powerful tool.

Actually the bismark was only hours away from Me109 air coverage when the crappy Swordfish dropped it's equally crappy torpedo and jammed rudder of Bismark causing it to run in circles. You are right, Goering did not allow for proper development of an air arm to help the Kreigsmarine, better than Italians but not near as good as it could have been. Totally agree on the other part though Herr Liam, all that man power and metal wasted on a ship that was totally out matched by the Might of Her Majesty's Royal Navy....

Read about the sinking of the Bismark several times. Hood was a fast ship with powerful guns. The simple fact is the speed was attained at some expense in armor. The dooming salvo from Bismark hit just aft of fore guns coming down and penetrating the weak deck armor piercing the forward magazine. The resluting explosion doomed the hood. Poor design, not brittle metal lead to the dismal failure of this ship. See entire Italian navy, fast powerful ships, no good armor, lack of radar and no coordnation with air forces, led to their all too easy defeat.

In my game against The "K" man, I had terrible supply, had a large German army and Airplanes diown there, instead of retreating them out and using them in Russia they ended up being wasted, I should have adapted and went stonger some where else, gotta be able to roll with the punches. I hope we do not really believe luck wins all games, how could you explain all of Terif's wins and others impressive records, you Bro Rambo. Shoot, Bromley has pounded me in several Mirror matches, and I have out teched him a couple of times and still lost.. Just my two cents worth..
