  1. Sound do seems to be involved and that Steve (see his post in the other thread) has chimed in on it before. So maybe a comparison of modded sound vs stock sound. However, we have users with stuttering without sound mods, but then again, there are more then one sound mod.
  2. Interesting idea, but I can't see how we can ever identify a system background process as it causes the problem Maybe tech guys have a cool toy for it
  3. Thanks. Interesting idea. But I see stuttering even if just the camera is locked behind a unit (camera 2) that is running across a field. I do use WSAD, but almost never right button to look around. Is that an SSD only or hybrid with HDD? One thing that has worked pretty well (to test) is to turn sound off in game (Alt-S). For me stutters disappear and then begin again with sound on. It would be nice if someone else could verify this.
  4. They way you descibe it is exactly what I'm seeing. I said that it is mainly not about fps, because then the thread would risk being about "too low fps overall". I can have 35-40 fps and as it stutters FRAPS show me an instant drop/recovery for 0,5 sec of about 10-15 fps. I tried to do a video using FRAPS but it crashes the game Please post your specs
  5. Please do, as the problem seems to occur with very specific hardware and/or driver setup. Any clues are valuable clues.
  6. A few users has noted since the release of FB that graphics/animations stutter. It is not a fps problem as the games runs smoothly but 2-3 times per replay turn the animations stutter, like hitting/releasing pause really quickly. It is not dependent on graphics settings, size of scenarios, number of units or the amount of action. If you have seen this too, please post system specs and other vital information in this thread: We are trying, together with Charles and tech support to isolate the issue and hopefully find a fix as it is somewhat of an immersion killer. The same stutter seems to occur in other CM games, but it is highly individual between users. The main focus so far is that it is graphics card, drivers, sound system and output related in what seem a complex pattern. Location of installment seems to matter as well and if you have a SSD / hybrid drive. Thanks!
  7. What an avalanche of mods. The game just doesn't feel complete without your mods Fuser.
  8. Plain bad luck I guess, but I did take some chances by straying off the roads to get into town from different angles. Also had a couple of "bogging" that didn't get immobilized. The CM*1 scenario I think was community made. Anyone remember?
  9. It was a great battle and a stern test even against the AI. The mud was an enemy in its own, disabling 5 of my tanks. So I had to settle with a draw. IIRC correctly there was a CM*1 scenario called "Knifefight at Singling", or was it located somewhare else?
  10. I was surprised when reading the "Juno Trilogy" by Mark Zuehlke, the amount of accounts that units "fired from the hip" when assaulting a position or advancing over dangerous ground. I assume you won't basically hit anything, but maybe it had enough suppressive power to keep the enemy's heads down. Especially if they are green troops. Maybe it also functions to boost morale when charging forward - to feel powerful and less vulnerable.
  11. Perhaps noted before, but the M4A1 late Sherman textures doesn't load properly at a distance (from "A Muddy Affair"): The second screenshot is just a tad bit closer. Note also that the inside of the tank looks white in the first shot.
  12. Split squads, spread out and suppress the US HMGs. Cross in bounds to divide their attention. Then cross your fingers and hope for some luck. There are also some places with cover along the slope. Get down to camera one to check.
  13. They finally deployed, so what threw me off was that it didn't state that the crew was in the process of deploying but "spotting". Was it ever officially announced that it changed to this? Can't see a reason to omit the "deploying" description, but I'm sure there is one.
  14. I had similar behaviour in "Lions of Carpiquet" second mission that felt unusal. Even flail-tanks would take a long detour to find a small gap in wire rather than just going over. That was under 3.11.
  15. That's probably what confused me, but I will still check for proper deployment in the expected time.
  16. I think I had them in another position previously where they didn't deploy either. And if they were deploying, it should say so in the description in the bottom left corner - right? I will keep track of the following turns. They were still not "deploying" in the turn I played this morning (129). Hopefully I just missed something and it isn't a bug.
  17. Find it here: http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/?p=3611 rocketman PS Is the menu text moddable?
  18. SPOILERS for "Dropzone Charlie" (BP) ************************************** In "Dropzone Charlie" (US version) I have had AT guns towed by Jeeps and the unloaded to set up. They remain "limbered" even after a few turns of the unit having a "deploy" order and nothing happens. Another AT gun that I didn't tow was able to deploy properly.
  19. Great job Juju - looks awesome The game just got even better.
  20. No, surely, there can't be anyone who does. Really?
