  3. wow any more info on this? i recently was in st malo and would eat up any info on the battles there.
  4. yeah it the whole meeting engagement thing i suppose. I forget who the scenario is made by but it was most def one of the more respected designers. and there was no trp or it would have been used. just one of those frustrating things.
  5. bravo on the medal series, for lack of a better term. they're all super hard but very satisfying if and when you win.
  6. correct me if i'm wrong but are these nerbelwurfers (spelling?). but that's not my real question. i was playing going the CMBO scenario "going to town", the conversion for cmak, and couldn't use my rockets for preplanned barrage. is it because the scenario was meeting engagement or is that something that is adjusted in parameters? that was pretty frustrating, as there was a perfect chance for prep barrage but i had to wait 7 DAMN MINUTES!
  7. there is an interesting book on world war III, aka the cold war turning hot, but i forget the author. it is written in historical style, after the fact, and it makes interesting points about why there would be no nukes used. check it out.
  8. since when do americans need to be taught hatred? we ALWAYs exhibit a xenophobic hatred towards any and all foriengers.
  9. the ai has interesting tank tactics. they pick one great spot, then send ALL of their tanks there, all at the same time. if you have enough to KO their tanks great, if not, they get u peicemeal. not true to life i don't think, but it doesn't work for me. ever.
  10. as of my games today i have hid all my worthless dudes in corners. in the CMBB scenario reluctant warriors they even got a nice piney retreat by a lake....shame it was a tad snowy and icey that day
  11. you know mr laze, we have much in common, but that sounds way too hard for me to wrap my head around. ouch it hurts thinkin about it
  12. king, i have played the scenario, but i didnt finish it. blame my attention span, not the scenario it was pretty fun. but tedious. trying to KO armor with those things is an excercise in shoot and scoots for 10 turns with 4 diffrent HTs per kill. forgot to ask, they cant be used as indirect fire weapons like mortars can they? im assuming not, which is why ive never tried. thatd be cool though huh?
  13. nonetheless, we can all agree the current system for on map mortars is flawed. but theyre so fun in theory.
  14. damnit. so i have to actually protect all this worthless junk. maybe ill use them in banzai charges. what, they worked god for japan. hey wait im serious.
  15. oh yeah colnel, and the people we are fighting ar so close behind us in terms of weapons. honestly im all for arms races, but not against ourselves. maybe its because, while i love PAST wars, i hate the idea in general. something about all the poets, authors, artists, musicians, doctors, fathers, sons, and brothers that have a nasty habit of dying because of war. why cant we get along? and yes, i know the reason is that humans are by nature conflict lovers etc etc. but i can dream no?
  16. guderian your post made me think, and i mostly agree with you. in normal conditions sure. but what about when you have no plt leaders left, and need one last ditch counterattack, and that section hq over there, or that unused weapons plt leader is your last survivng officer, why cant he lead them? irl, would he say, "sorry, not my job guys, kill yourselves now and save the amis the touble"?
  17. itd be nice in cmx2 to be able to just drop 2 rounds or so like u said. with 2 inchers, you get one round of firing, so thats where the ammo shortages are noticed first, but its the same with all of them. also, whats with the weird mortar bomb dispersal? irl, if a mortar (with spotter) was aiming at, say, a foxhole, a)would the team not wait for corrections before really opening up? and wouldn't the dispersal be more or less in a circle around the target rather than a straight line?
  18. has anyone used the 75 halftrack gmc succesfully against armor of any kind (light or otherwise) they seem worthless to me unless you KNOW there is no kind of AT on the map AT ALL (inculding at rifles and large rocks)
  19. often during scenarios mortars and FOs run out of ammo, tanks get made worthless (gun damage) and tanks crews bail. is it better to send these units with zero combat effectivness off map, or should i just find a nice secluded little corner and hide them in it? does exiting troops off map cause morale to go down? i haven't noticed any kind of morale detriment but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
  20. i saw someone write that only withdraw from 75mm He chuckers or bigger. was sub 75mm that inneffective against infantry?
  21. when my father explained to me what our "industrial millitary complex" was i was both horrified and amzed. sure, now the us army can, lets face it, kick around any country it damned well chooses, and thats pretty cool if you ask me. yet we still spend way more money on this star wars crap than on schools. any thoughts on this from americans? or insults on this from europeans?
  22. grimthane: what the hell? im a simpleton, english won't do. i require a crafty blend of southern patois with a hearty dose of slang for me to understand....us damned young uns
  23. i can't say i always kill my prisoners, because sometimes there's no time, or sometimes they all aurrender and the game is over. but i try.
