Hubert!: I already had/have that line included in my sc2.ini file in the WaW Game-Folder!,...here it is as to how it looked!... #ORIGINAL_SCREEN_WIDTH= 0 #ORIGINAL_SCREEN_HEIGHT= 0 #WINDOW_WIDTH= 0 #WINDOW_HEIGHT= 0 #FULL_SCREEN= 0 #BIT_DEPTH= 0 #VIDEO_ACCELERATION= 0 And yet, i keep getting the same explanation every time i try to start up SC2_WaW!. sc2.ini: Could not find #VIDEO_ACCELERATION#
  2. Yes 'Madmatt'... i am using "VISTA" on my HP-Laptop!. 'Hubert & Madmatt' ...i also did download from another Mirror TO see if the end-result's would be the same, and they were!,.. STILL-NO-CHANGE!. Madmatt!... i don't know what i should rename my 'Existing sc2.ini too?...i can try something i guess!,...and then try to re-run the v1.04 Install!. I can only hope!. Thank's for the 'Stabs-in-The-Dark!'. --- OK!...i renamed my sc2.ini to sc2.WaW.ini ... then reinstalled the v1.04 WaW Patch!.   3. I just finished downloading & installing the v1.04 PATCH!. When i try to start SC2_WaW...this is the message that i got!: 'X' sc2.ini: Could not find #VIDEO_ACCELERATION#. ...At that point, that is as far as starting up SC2_WaW goes..." It's a NO-GO! "
  4. WoW!!! [Holy-Freaking-Lightening!!!]... '128.09 MB' of "IMPROVEMENT'S" is a LOT of improvement's!. I'm 'REALLY' looking forward to seeing what change's it will make to the game!.
  5. 1948_The Berlin Crises Im finding this game particularily challenging & terribly interesting!. The 'Play-Balance' in this Scenario is i think, extremely well done!. Im playing well into the night on this one, it's definitely holding my interest!.
  6. 1945_Stalin Drives West In my opinion, this is another "SLAUGHTER-HOUSE-FIVE" situation in-disfavour of the Allies!. Even though the 'PACIFIC-WAR' is supposed to be concluded, the Allies are extremely-SEVERELY-RESTRICTED in supplies of men & equipment!. On the other hand, the Russian Juggernaut steam-rolls happily & effortlessly over the European Landscape!...with overwhelming numbers and unit's at full-strength & full-supply!,...whereas the Allies are suffering heavy manpower shortages for nearly 50% of their unit's as well as supply shortages and are finding it nearly impossible to replace destroyed unit's!. The U.S. of A's...mighty-industrial-output-complex doesn't seem to be represented here at all???.
  7. My 'Laptop' recently died as well,...and too-late have i come to find out that it was my "1-Gigabyte RAM-MEMORY" that had failed me and was then therefore simulating a 'Hard-Drive-Failure-Symptom' & as well...the all too frequent...'Blue-screen-Of Death!'...that went along with it!.
  8. 1945_Patton Drives East FOR ONCE!!!... Instead of complaining, im going to give a "two-Thumbs-Up" for the PATTON DRIVES EAST adventure!. For me, it play's very-well...and seem's to be fair & equal to all concerned!.
  9. SOME INITIAL BEEF'S!!!: 1939_Storm Of Steel: ***What im seeing here, is an IMPOSSIBLE timetable for the German's to at all achieve 'Historicity' as it really was!. They are 'Gunni-Sacked' & have their 'Hands-Tied' behind their back's, even before they even begin the game!. EG: the initial 'GERMAN-Forces' in 'POLAND' are way too unbelievably understrength!,...as well as the ITALIAN forces in 'North-Afrika'...who are as well incredibly understrength is a game-breaker problem [if Playing The AXIS],...and also what burn's me the most, is that when ROMMEL appeared in North-Afrika...i think???...it was in DEC_1940,...this event or the disposition of his initial forces are not acknowledged or recognized/represented at all???. I Know also that the RUSSIAN-FORCES were way-understrenght Materially/Technologically in 1940 as verses the GERMAN'S. That is why 3,100,000 Russian's surrendered to the German's in about the 1st-two week's of the war!. The Russian's quickly mobilized 5,000,000 more Russian-Troop's quickly following that debacle'!. TRANSLATION: The RUSSIAN'S were in NO-POSSIBLE-POSITION to attack the 3rd-Riech as early as is depicted in many of these user made game's as early as they try to make it seem possible when in reality it was IMPOSSIBLE!. 1941_Shattered Alliance: ***As yet i have-not fully studied everything yet!,...but even so, the very-1st impression im getting is that the German unit's that would/should have been at the ready to assist the Allies...are-mysteriously-not-present at all???.   10. Otherwise than "Kuniworth's " very-plausable-beef!, i think that the 'AI' is definetely playing better!. 'AI' improvement's should NEVER-END,...until it is concluded that ther "AI's" Game-Playing-Ability is INDISTINGUISHABLE from that of a 'Human-Player'. Then!!!..."Das Vill Be Ze' Ent!".

  12. Personally!,...for myself at least ..."strategical scale, hard-core grognard style" ...really appeal's to me very-much!. But at the same time...i do not like 'NEEDLESS-COMPLEXITY', however what i do like is enough complexity to give FLAVOUR to the situation at hand!. That is to say,...so that in a way,...for example, for you feel like you are really in WW2!. SC2 is 'for-sure!'...'very-good!', but!!!,...we all know that it can be improved upon & it has been improved-upon...continuously!. It definetely fill's the Beer & Pretzel's request's very-well...AND THEN SOME!!!.

  14. A welcome progress-report 'Madmatt!' ...glad to see effort's continuously pressing-on!. Ohhh!!!...and by the way...keep in mind that the Russian's at about this time-frame were coming out with the 'Joseph-Stalin-III-Tank' , it probably would have given the German 'King-Tiger' a good-run for it's money!.
  15. Your 'Sarcastic-Remark!' ... "John DiFool the 2nd!"...is 'Insanely-Hilarious' and impossible to argue with!. When and if a 'DIAGONAL-SUPPLY-ROUTE' is opened, and provided it is kept continuously opened for at least 2-turns let's say, it should not be able to permit SUPPLY to be initiated until this or some other condition is fullfilled!.
  16. Ohhh!...by-the-way...when these ATTACHED-UNIT'S are used in an ARMY-GROUP for example, they should be able to be selected separately!. For example, ARTILLERY from an ARMY-GROUP could be selected to do it's Artillery-Barrage, without involving the rest of the make-up of that ARMY-GROUP!. ANTI-TANK GUN & AIR-DEFENCE UNIT'S...as well could be selected to BE operated independently of the Main-Army-Group!. [ May 01, 2008, 11:54 PM: Message edited by: Retributar ]

  18. Honch!,... im playing your 'Fall Weiss' Campaign!. I really do like the WEEKLY-TURN'S as this really give's the player a much more realistic chance to replay history as it was!. Otherwise...timewise the game time moves too-quickly to have much of a chance to do anything historically!. NOW!...what i don't like, this has nothing to do with your game,.. QUOTE From...mock: "I can't imagine Arty being useful at range 1." ...AND it is practically 'Totally Useless' at Range-1...by itself, being totally-exposed to being eviserated!. I think that the BEST-SOLUTION for this predicament as well as other's is to use a system of having the option of attaching Unit's to say an Army!. This ARMY could attach an ARTILLERY-BATTALION or more, as well as one or more ANTI-TANK-GUN-BATTALION'S or even a few ANTI-AIR-CRAFT-GUN-BATTALION'S. As well...these ATTACHED-UNIT'S could be operated INDEPENDENTLY of being ATTACHED to any Unit!. This would UN-CLUTTER the game-board,...and as far as im concerned,...be much more realistic!. Other than that!,...again!...you've made a Great-Game!.
  19. I am in 'Staunch-Agreement!' with you U8led ...relating to...'being able to see where a unit is drawing it's supply from...'by-way-of' a translucent color highlight, from the supply-point to the supplied-unit!'. I say...that 'We-NEED-That-Feature!'.
  20. Im no expert on this myself!, but it seem's that some of these rules apply to the 'Human-Player' only and not necessarily the 'AI'-Player!.

  22. Quote from the movie "PATTON"... "I don't want to hear about someone wanting to die for his country!,...make the other poor dumb bastard die for his!". Make heavy use of your 'Artillery' to decimate an onrushing attacking enemy,...so that his attack is so thereby reduced,...and that his remaining state is so weakened,...that his annihilation is assured on your next-turn!. As 'Napoleone' once said!,...something like this!... "ARTILLERIE is the GOD of the BATTLEFIELD!".
  23. An 'Ambitious Undertaking!'. I think that a 'Port' location that can be defended by Axis Controlled French Air-Bases [in France] & also supported by off-shore Naval-Units...may hold the best opportunity to hold/maintain & consolidate a Beach-Head!. AIRBORNE Forces > Paratrooper Assault & then later...Glider-Units to support/augment the initial Paratrooper staging zone [Airfield probably required?]. They could then be utilized to help screen the 'Port-Area' from British intervention or counter-attack!...while the main-body of the German Invasion Forces make their way ashore!. ***Might need a 'Larger-Scale-Map' to do this?.***
